Hyde Park Homes For Sale: www.homesearchtampa.com/listi...
All of the homes are truly unique. No two homes are exactly alike and there’s lots of history here. Most of the single-family homes here were built in the late 1800s to early 1900s. Hyde Park was one of the first established suburbs in Tampa partly due to the location. The entire neighborhood has so much character and charm. You’ll see Mature oak trees and palm trees that line the streets of the neighborhood. Many homes in Hyde Park have really nice front porches surrounded by mature landscaping. It’s common to see homes with a craftsman style, bungalow, or Mediterranean style architecture in Hyde Park.
Here are a couple of examples of recent home sales at the time of this video.
This Hyde Park Bungalow sold for $817K in 2019. It was a 3 bed/2 bath and just under 2,000 SF. Here is another that was a little larger and sold at the same price per/SF at $411/sf. Notice the interiors of each were tastefully remodeled and these homes were both in phenomenal condition. Homes will also sell in the $1,$2, and even the $3 million range depending on the size, condition, and specific location.
Hyde Park is not a typical area where you’ll find large lot sizes for the homes, but they do exist. While backyards typically are not very large, you can make the most of your space by installing a pool and maybe lining your back fences with palm trees or bamboo to create your own private oasis.
The real estate market in Hyde Park is very steady and is usually more resistant to big market swings. The limited inventory, the prime location, the amount of infrastructure nearby, the fantastic schools, and the lifestyle all help keep Hyde park a very desirable neighborhood.
Hyde Park Tampa is a family-friendly community. If you have kids, you’ll appreciate that there is no shortage of things to do here. Nearby is the Tampa Zoo, Bush Gardens, the Beach, lots of nice local parks, Children’s museums, a History center, a Science center and more. On hot days, the Florida Aquarium is conveniently close in proximity. There’s a splash pad with a new Tiki bar. Parents and friends to hang out or relax while your kid cools off and plays in the splash pad.
There are lots of really good restaurants in and around Hyde Park. You will not find many chain restaurants in this area of Tampa, but rather more unique dining experiences and in all different price ranges. There are great spots for happy hours and date nights, like one of my favorites, dinner and a movie at Cinebistro in Hyde Park Village.
If you appreciate sports, then Tampa is perfect for you. As I mentioned earlier, the Lightning Hockey is within walking distance in downtown, and The Tampa Bay Buccaneers Football is a few minutes away. Next door to the Bucs is the New York Yankees practice facility is here where you can catch spring games. And Just across Tampa Bay in the downtown St Petersburg area, we have the Tampa Bay Rays Baseball and the Tampa Bay Rowdies Soccer. If you’re into Golf, then there are literally dozens of courses around the Tampa bay area.
Whether you’re visiting or moving to the area, you have to check out Hyde Park Village. It’s a great place to hang out and is like a central meeting place for the community of Hyde Park and really all of South Tampa. Hyde Park Village is located on Snow Circle. There are lots of shops and options for restaurants here. There is a nice sitting area around the fountain. Hyde park village has free wifi, so you can grab a buddy brew coffee and get some work done under the shade of the oak trees if you’d like. There’s a farmers market here on the first Sunday of every month and has all sorts of local Florida vendors. You can grab a snack, have a local beer, or meet up with friends. The streets will be blocked off and it’s a great time for the whole family.
Hyde Park, Tampa is an excellent place to live and make friends. The quality of life here is exceptional and easy. As you can see, Hyde Park is one of the most unique and charming communities in all of Florida.

I lived at 1115 Bayshore Blvd in the 60's. My dad rented it for $350 /month. I see it was listed for $6 million. So many wonderful memories. We lived on Davis Island as well. Loved the Gasparilla ship

Even though $350 in 1960 would be equivalent to $3,700 today, thats still a LOT less than what a place like that would cost today.
I was looking at Hyde Park House (whilst researching info regarding the viral 'crying single mom bakes her own birthday cake' video. Her address is listed as being at Hyde Park House Unit 603) and saw that HOA fees alone cost roughly $2k-$5.5k/mo. Thats on top of the payments for your lease/mortgage, which run between $15k/mo and $55k/mo.
It amazes me that people are willing to spend that kind of money on a place to live, especially a place thats basically a really nice apartment.

Very nice job! You covered quite a bit about Tampa's best neighborhood, and your voice is very pleasing to listen to as well. I love all the Craftsman bungalows, and other non-Florida traditional home styles. It is so central, and a great walking/biking area is always important, and so close to downtown and the airport. Hope the Rays move downtown, as their dome and location are not good (I saw plans for an Ybor City glass bubble dome that looks nice, but should be closer to 40k seats than 30k, as the current indoor dome is depressing, though the team is pretty good the past decade+). I wish I had invested in a rental back in the 1990s, when I first visited Hyde Park, as median price was nowhere near $800k, and I knew it would blossom, but I was leery of long distance rentals (lived in Seattle at the time). To me, Hyde Park and Sarasota/Siesta Key are the best area of Tampa Bay, and a rival to the Palm Beaches as best place in Florida to live. This was one of the best neighborhood tour videos I have seen, and just the right amount of info vs salesmanship! The area can sell itself if people just take a look. Also good to hear schools are highly-rated, since much of FLA is below the national average - though this is not a direct concern for me, but I like neighborhoods where there is a good cross-section of ages and backgrounds. I love culture and outdoor recreation opportunities (also the variety of trees beyond just palms), as well as lots of close food & shopping options. Berns is great for a fancy steak dinner, and Trader Joe's and WF are great stores, and nice to see there is a farmer's market once a month. Interesting that I bought a shirt very similar to the one you are wearing, in Hyde Park at an A&F or Brooks Bros, I think. I love porches, and most FL homes do not have them (Florida rooms or patios on the back are much more common), and it is a good way to meet your neighbors. Thanks for the tour, Kris!

Texas vs Florida in regards to gun laws , freedom and liberty ? (How is covid being handled ? )

    • @kriskennedyre

That’s a timely topic. I need to do research on Texas gun laws compared to FL to provide an educated answer to that.
