@@Encorebeats valid, I can't argue with that. Keep in mind YT is non-linear though so do the stats show people actually listening through the whole intro? Maybe songwriters let it play to get in the songs mood, idk. Every book I've read on producing emphasizes getting the song going and to the hook as fast as possible, ESPECIALLY by today's standards. Either way, I'm only taking the time to comment because of how great it all sounds. @@VanceProduces For me sales through Beatstars and UA-cam sometimes don’t really correlate. My best selling beat last month was one of the worst performing on UA-cam so I try go off sales to judge what people like. I do get you though, as in trap music dropping the drums soon is normal. I guess I have more of a pop outlook on production and with trying to make cinematic sounding beats, I think long intros is part of that sound. I like to think there are no rules with music so if something sounds good I just go with it rather than just stick to a formula and so far that’s worked for me :)

@@VanceProduces I totally get that, but I’m just working off the stats I’ve got, and all my best selling beats have intro’s at least 16 bars long
