- Decided to make an in depth tutorial on how I use Logic Pro on iPad. I hope this video brings some value for those looking to learn. This isn’t the only way to use it, just how I do.
the iPad I’m using is the M2 iPad Pro 12.9 with 16 gigs of ram and 1 tb of storage, it is absolutely overkill for just music, but I also edited this video on it.
If this tutorial was helpful, please consider checking out my album “There’s Something Better” by Dylan Paris wherever you listen to music, thanks!
Video I mentioned about sound design in Logic Pro: • Logic Pro for iPad RUL...

If this video brought you any value, please consider checking out my album “There’s Something Better” on Spotify, Apple Music, Bandcamp, or wherever you listen to music. Thank you!
I'm not used to using loops, but your workflow is really selling me on the idea. I'm just getting started w/ Logic Pro, I'm going to try this. Good tutorial!
You perfectly described it “the closest I ve been to a dream of music production” like I love ableton for years but ableton note is not even close to this logic app
Yeah Ableton Note feels like it would have been so cool in 2015 but at this point is like “really guys? this is the best you can do on a platform that has the same processor / ram as a laptop that runs your full app?”
@@DylanParisMusic exactly my feeling
How do you change tje octave of something that is already created? My daughter has a project she moved from garage band to logic on her ipad pro and now needs to lower the octave but we can't find any instructions on how to do this
Hi, I really liked the tutorial but I think the audio from Logic is doubled :)
I used the iPad speakers instead of headphones so there may be a little bleed there!
Hi -- I'm a musician and I'm trying to decide between the 11 inch and 13 inch iPad Air 6. I mostly create video productions comprised of voice and acoustic guitar, but sometimes do projects that crank up to about 20 tracks, with submixes. I do like the more portable size of the 11", but am I likely to find the 11" a bit cramped for the more multi track projects?
I switched from an 11 to a 12.9 when logic came out cause I wanted the extra space, I’d say try them both in a store if you can!
Does the 61Komplete Kontrol MK 3 have internal sounds?
No it’s just a midi controller
Hey I have a question for you. I saw in the plugins list you also have Bleass plugins. I purchased bleass monolit and megalit from the app store but the plugins dont show up in my instruments in Logic Pro 😭. I thouth it should work in Logic or am i wrong? An Answer would be very uselfull.
That’s strange! Have you reached out to Bleass? Are they auv3 plugins?
Thanks for the fast response. I think i didn’t look right the auv3 is probably only available for the mac version. I tried also downloading the Buttersynth from the store which says its a auv3 and also standalone synth. But that one also doesn’t show up in Logic :(@@DylanParisMusic
I‘m confused@@DylanParisMusic
Nobut yes they are auv3. ALL PLUGINS SHOW UP NOW!!!! YEEs. My money is not wasted :D I restarded the ipad and that solved it. closing Logic did nothing apparently. Thanks for the help!,@@DylanParisMusic
Ni midi mapping yet so live cells cant be triggered remotely 😢
That part is brutal for sure
My thoughts aswell ; the day you can map play and stop control or pads on a midi controller this app will be wild
Your hat is cold.
😎🙏
if this a tutorial video about using logic on the ipad you must be joking. are you a teacher. its impossible to follow you. no structure
Aw man, sorry it didn’t work for you! Everybody learns and teaches differently, hopefully there are other videos that are more your style on other channels
Subscriptions put me right off
That’s a fair take! I think this one is pretty reasonable but I get it on principle
I learned some things. I just wish there was a pointer for when you say things like "Click this pencil, not this one, or this one, but this one" Other than that, thanks for this, it made it a little easier for me to learn some basics.
One thing I want to do is make it so when my kick hits, it sweeps out frequencies in the synth bass I use. Something like a side chain triggered by my kick.
i guess the question is, what is better Logic Pro or Garage Band...using IPAD. Taking into account learning curve and pricing. Any opinions?
2nd question bro: I have an m32 I use with the live 2 and plus. Is there a certain midi controller that works really well with transport controls in ipad logic that you prefer?
Sadly it seems like no midi controllers work for transport and I could be wrong but I also don’t think you can midi map for custom mapping, definitely a missing feature.
@@DylanParisMusic nooooo
I think it would be perfect in a situation where you have alot of outboard gear, as a kinda brain of the whole operation yanno?
Thinking about getting an ipad specifically for this usecase lol
I’m not sure I’d trust this app stability wise for this use case but if you do end up trying it I’d be super curious to hear how it goes!
@@DylanParisMusicit’s quite nice and pretty stable
I have found it to be less stable than something like Ableton on pc or Mac, I think primarily just due to how Apple handles ram management on iPad, I’m definitely not saying it wouldn’t work at all, just not sure it’d be my first choice for something like that
@@DylanParisMusic I agree, im just clamoring for a hardware DAW that accepts VSTs
like an MPCx, but not that yanno?
im surprised nobody has done it yet
I noticed the sample packs shown are on garage band, do they have a lot of new ones on logic?
I’m honestly not sure if there’s a ton more besides the studio horns and strings, but there’s a lot of multi sampled instruments that I don’t think are in GB so probably those as well
@@DylanParisMusic For sure. I think I’ll stick with logic in the MacBook pro 🤙
The electric drums and EQ are totally different from GarageBand.
