Good analysis... the Camerounian defense were already exhausted from chasing and holding Osimhen down... the coordination was already lost and it was clear that even after the second goal they became even more porous at the back and would have conceded even more goals if time were given.
The best way to explain the offside position is that when you receive the ball, you must have at least 2 players from the opposing team between you and their goal post.

Then as a coach, I will train my goalkeeper to run away from the 18 yard box on every corner and indirect free kick and have one defender busy doing nothing in the goal post.

No,the coach explaination on the disallowed goal is wrong.The opponent has to have two players behind the ball to be onside,usually the goalkeeper and one defender.In this scenario the goalkeeper was ahead of the Nigerian player which made him offside.If there was two Cameroonian players behind the goalkeeper the goal would have stood even with the keeper ahead of the Nigerian player.This is why some coaches are reluctant to have players at either end of the post, you are technically playing your opponent onside by having two players at the post...This two players rule is the same reason why two of your players must touch the ball at kickoff before it crosses the line to the opponent half.Otherwise it will be offside if the ball gets in the opponent half without two touches at kickoff...That is if the really want to apply the laws of the game.

The explanation for the offside is simple.
Law 11 says A player is in an offside position if:
any part of the head, body or feet is in the opponents’ half (excluding the halfway line) and
any part of the head, body or feet is nearer to the opponents’ goal line than both the ball and the second-last opponent
That means there must be at least 2 defending players ahead of the most forward attacking player in order for the player to NOT be offside.
In this case, there was only one player ahead of both Osimhen and Ajayi. Ergo, offside
