Nice sounding song but the lyrics are so corny and bland.
...A window breaks down a long dark street.. and immediately after... a siren wails... The reaction? I'm alright Jack it's not my window that they've broken. Then in the next sentence.. I've been waiting all my life for this moment to arise.. (a smashed window the police siren? wtf. )
It's one of those songs where the lyrics and the tune far as far as pole to Pole. I learnt the song and have it in my set list. Thank god the audience ignore the lyrics. Apart from that Randy Newman, great tune. 🎶😳
