Yes I remember that day very well. The storm is not at its height here. At 1min 46sec a metal handrail steps to the beach is shown , that steel handrail would later be beaten flat by huge rocks down the steps as if a group of men with sledge hammers had beaten it flat.
I was born here, and lived most of my life here, is the weather changing with the seasons. Chesil cove in the summer is magical, and in the winter majestic. I have many friends who have moved her from inland, and have stayed because they love being on the coast. Thanks for the great piece of film 😊😊😊😊
Awesome filming, been to portland hundreds of times, never seen a storm like that though. Feel sorry for the people who have to live in the aftermath .
My mum lived at 64 , the house at end with flooded outside..... she moved 2 dAys earlier thank good, when we moved in 1997 and the fair was down, flooded then too
Just as well the beaches are so steep, otherwise there would be no causeway, buildings or road ! Today, 12 Feb, the wind is gusting to ridiculous speeds, so there will be even more 'spectacular' footage to come I think !
Hi Izzy, I'm making a film this week for engineering geology students and would like to use some of this footage. would you permit me to use it? It's for use in lectures.

Great footage Izzy; thanks for braving the elements & filming it for us!
