I work at an auto parts store. A lady came in because she locked her keys in her car in a neighboring parking lot. Well, we had similar tools for things like this, so I decided to give it a go. Managed to manipulate the locking mechanism to open after successfully prying the door with a wedge and an inflatable bag. Came here for confirmation I did it correctly, and it seems I didn't do half bad with no previous experience. AAA would have taken 2 hours so it was nice to be able to help.

This actually worked on my car last night. I locked my car & the key didn’t work. (Tumblers messed up) One of my customers brought his equipment & opened it in less than 5mns. Free of charge. :-)
Can you leave the link or tell me where you got this specific blue bendable reach tool? I can’t find it on Amazon and the one in my kit is several metal rods that connect together but I need this blue one!!!
I need to get that long tool. I locked myself out of my car recently and fortunately AAA was really fast even though I'm in a rural area. I have the airbags for various projects but nothing that can be used to manipulate handles and buttons.
Whatever you do don't freak out and break a car window. On more than one occasion I have locked myself out of my car and instead of freaking out I found things on the ground that I used to get back into my car with like wire and string and metal hell once I had to get back into my car and used two pieces of tree branch that I stripped the branches off and it was limber so I curved enough to reach the knob the other forked and about a four inch wire tie that I found near my car. The window was down about an inch though. I took the wire tie and tied it onto one end of the stripped and curved tree branch and on the other end I tied it into a loop that would slide. I stuck it through above the glass and got the tie into place around the lock knob and used the forked piece to push it forward with and tightened the tie around the lock knob and pulled upwards and was back in my car.
I personally don’t like the air bag because it can ruin the door. Me personally like the lock pick way or the hook in between the class and the door to pull the lock.
I'm going to buy this kit and put it in my car so that I can help a nervous housewife out after she has locked her keys in her car. Cheap way to get a woman. Thanks 👍

Thanks for this. This is exactly what the tow truck did to my locked door. To call them took a while. Not sure if true or not. The driver said to have this tool is illegal and only the tow truck should have. I dont think that is true.
I doubt that a simple metal rod could be criminalized, but if you got caught with it under suspicion of auto theft, it could probably be considered theif's tools
Yes when I accidentally locked my keys phone and wallet in the car the locksmith got the door to unlock but told me to open the driver door first once it was opened he deflated his air bag and then opened the passenger door.
Do the airbags cause any damage to the door/frame and leaving any residual open gaps where water can get in? I guess I'm confused how this can't cause damage? Unless it does
No, the rubber gasket in the door trim can easily handle the small amount of compression from the inflatable bags. Replacement gasket is cheap and easy to replace but you won't have to.
It can cause damage but the doors are usually forgiving the part that’s being stressed a bit are the hinges and the door look mechanism. Why when doing this method you gotta go slow and not over inflate the air bag too much just enough to get your tool inside.
La verdad me imagino que nunca se tocado una emergencia un niño en cerrado esta tomando mucho tiempo yo llevo 15 años haciendo ese servicio hay que tener rapidez
No they do the door that is hardly used so the passenger door just because the driver door is used all the time and they can risk breaking something more on the driver door then the passenger door.
