I'm so late (as usual) but I've been WAITING for my local Joanns to get this Rave yarn in stock because the colors are so awesome. They've been sold out online too in the colors that I wanted so I was forced to wait. They finally came in and I'm STOKED! I got Safety Cone and will probably go back for Scene Queen and Electric Slime and the orange and yellow citrus color. I plan on using mine to make an obnoxiously bright chalkbag for rock climbing. I'm SO GLAD you did a review on these, I would have never known about them. These remind me of growing up in the 90's, with all the bright neon colors we were surrounded by. Thank you for doing this video!
We finally got it in SoCal and I jumped on them… I found Scene Queen finally but I got the Electric Slime too plus Lava Lamp and Light Bright. I really want safety cone but haven’t it locally. I’m obsessed with it as well as the new tshirt yarn. I would use a larger hook though I think it was not properly sized.
I picked up 6 of the slime green last week! I’m thinking I’ll make a big blanket for the fall. As much as I would loooove a summer wearable in the slime green, I live in NC so I’d probably have a heat stroke 😂 might make a hexi cardi for the fall though!
It's super pretty! I just learned how to make the modern Jacob's ladder stitch. Both of those colors would look amazing with it. Love the green! I would probably do a scarf or blanket.

My aunt and I just made our weekly Joann excursion and they only had one skein of the rave yarn. A single scene queen; that was all. So I bought it and have no idea what to do with it now.
I bought the orange/yellow version of this (Electric Citrus), and it went through my Sentro with ease, and I have some really fun glowy looking comfy socks. I would LOVE to see this in a DK weight, or a sock weight.

I’m obsessed with the colors 😍 the slime is killing it. I think it would be really cool to make a mesh sweater with it. And also a short sleeve, button up t-shirt with a collar. So you could wear it over tanks and stuff. I told myself that I couldn’t buy more yarn until I used some of the yarn I already have. But those colors…. I might have to break that vow especially for the slime! 😅😂
With yarns that split, you might find it easier to start your stitches on the hook like I do. My skin also tends to dry out easy & yarn sometimes catches on it. Love that crop top you made out of the slime!
The Rave in Electric Slime is my new favorite yarn! I have already made a bag of 3 large granny squares and a mesh bucket bag. And now I'm messing around with Electric Citrus. Hoping for Rave in sock weight.
I am using the scene queen with the cyber leaf red heart granny square yarn for a c2c blanket. It works great together. If they had the slime I might have jumped on that instead.
It's holding up really well with the yarn and the combo is great. I like using it for other things and I have been playing with other types of squares then the recommended one.

Idk if it’s just me but it did NOT want to frog like it felted together a little bit and it wouldn’t undo but like 1-3 stitches at a time. Other than that I like it, I’m working on a hook case pattern with the unicorn color and it works up nice

My kids saw this yarn last time we were at Joann, I let them pick out 1 each and they both choose the colors that match their favorite Nascar cars 😂 so I guess I'm making them scarves🤷♀️ they want "Nascar" in winter 🤣
As I was trying to find the best stitch for this, I wondered if the label was incorrect with regards to the hook size. It says 4.5mm, but this is a bulkier 4 weight yarn. I feel like it’s more of a 6 or 6.5mm. 🤷🏻♀️🤔
I'm gonna try this now. With the weight of the yarn I would imagine my knitting machine would have no issue with it. The only thing is if it'd get snagged or not. Thanks for the suggestion!
I bought the same 2 the other day. While I haven't used it yet, I like the feel and heft. The new BT Prism has nicer colors, but way too soft for my taste.

@@bojii2939 I'm using a sweater pattern I found through Yarnspirations with a few modifications, like not doing the ribbing and adding purposely dropped stitches
If I'm absolutely wrong call me out but in my experience with the hook you're using they tend to split yarn without trying. It was really irritating for me.

This yarn reminds me of a lighter weight and wool-free version of Scarfie by Lion Brand. That line has a few colorways with black in it, as well.

With the Rave Yarn i feel like a Hexi-Cardi would be killer. Half neon oink and the other side in the slime green would be a stunner 💜🦇💜

Maybe try a tapered hook? It helps me when I come across yarn that splits. I bought the unicorn color and can't wait to work it up.🦄

I did enjoy it better with a bigger hook. It didn't squish the yarn quite as much. I might have to try it with a 6mm now
