At the end she's trying to escape from her own fear. She tried to overcome the fear by trying to '' stab '' it but she ended up stabbing herself as her fear had actually took her entirely. Not sure about this but feel free to correct me with your own theories.

IMO, the mirror serves as a artifact that traps herself in her own world and reflects her dark self, which she failed to recognized and afraid of, in the end when there is no escape, she decided to retaliate, without realizing that the monster is herself afterall. In the end she failed to accept "herself" and ended up wounded mortally.

i remember playing this on Phigros so much, now finally watched this. and i must say, all of it makes so much sense. i kinda thought to myself, like why is there a gasp in the middle, why is it suddenly back to intense, so yea, it’s quite a crazy journey for me to understand it 7 years after it released. and the ending, shocked me, so her biggest enemy was herself all along… felt bad for her, since i can relate to her
okay so I've been watching this pv for quiet a while now and I've came up with a theory explaining the meaning of the song/pv, so the protagonist is actually suicidal, and when she gets sucked up into the mirror and brought into this dungeon like place, the dungeon kind of represents her mentality, and near the end of the pv you can see the dungeon sort of breaking which could represent her mentality getting destroyed and that spider humanoid like creature represents her image of herself (her self worth) and when she tries to stab the creature she ends up stabbing herself, which could explain why she's suicidal and the pv ends with her dropping to the ground and I'm assuming she died.
Theory : The girl is actually a very mean and spoiled kid, and the witch is her evilness, and here she got the same point of view as all the people she ever hurt, and she's escaping from her own sadistic spirit, and in the end she wants to fight the witch, and ends up stabbing the real villain... Herself It's just a theory I think it's 0% True and I don't know if there's an official explanation for this video cuz I don't read Japanese but I wanted to dig in my head and find a fun theory haha

i do remember hearing a similar story, long ago (think in the 70s or 60s) a middle-aged man who often sleepwalks sleeps with a knife hidden beneath his pillow. he once dreamt that he was slicing his throat only to wake up to him actually doing it in real life.
The monster chasing her changes its face everytime. It indicates her fear taking over her, to the fact she only remembers that she took a knife instead of her entering the labyrinth

0:55 1:30 2:14 と敵の顔が徐々に崩壊している為、あれを仮に「少女の精神」とすると、少女は鏡に向かって「私は誰？」と呟き続けて自我が崩壊したのだと推測できます。呟く行為自体が「自分から自分を遠ざける暗示」なので、これで逃げていることにも説明がつきます。追っかけているのは、無意識の中で少女自身が戻れなくなるのを恐れていることの表れかと。
