- This is part 1 of the instructional video series on how to use the Mission Planner ground control software, brought to you by Linn Aerospace. This video covers the basic functionality of the Flight Data and Flight Plan panes of Mission Planner.
Great video. Small suggestion, the arrow points to somewhere when u r showing something. Pls correct it. And thanks a lot for the explanation.
Awesome vid but man that mouse cursor was annoying when it doesnt point at what your clicking and talking about
Thank you very much for your lesson. i am learning a lot from you. From: South Korea
Enjoyed the entire series... I'm wanting to direct some guys to them because I don't have the time to keep repeating what you already covered. The only negative is the displayed mouse cursor is quite frustrating to see where you are actually clicking. I thought the narration and content were quite excellent, however. Are the any remakes or further MP tutorials in the works? Thanks, Mark
+Delta Zee Solutions Yes, after I posted this I realized the cursor issue. I hope to re-make these in the near future and resolve that issue. Also, look forward to more instructional video covering more topics in Mission Planner and with APM in general.
+Linn Aerospace after looking into it briefly, it may be something to do with you screen resolution messing with your screen capture...good luck.
I'm just starting with MP and the cursor problem made this video impossible for me to follow. Please update!
It is a great series of explaining MP.
Mouse pointer was not following what you were explaining. Found it a bit difficult to understand
I’m also using Li Ion batteries with Mission planner/Pixhawk airplane, and have been getting a new type of warning recently on the mission planner HUD in red. : BAD BATTERY
Wondering if you had seen this too, and why? Seems there is an internal resistance monitor in arduplane set for Lipos, and it’s detecting too high internal resistance. (Normal of course for a Li Ion battery)
Using 4S4P Li Ion NCR18650GA cells, and only pulling 23 amps. Cells rated for 10a each, so 40 amps total.
I get the warning about 2/3 through the flight, after about 78 minutes, when going to a high power setting.
Any way to select battery cell type, etc? Or to shut off the false alarm in Mission Planner?
It stays until reboot. Happing with new cells and several new batteries, so I’m well sure that it’s not a real problem.. also batteries are giving 90+% of their rated capacity, so they are genuine.
Just wondering if any one had seen the same thing?
What is the write and writefast difference between
Great video!
You make good videos..thanks
which Mission Planner version and type is this?
will the use for an autonomous rover be very different to an autonomous plane? Is there a whole different program version for that? Thanks for all your help :)
Are there any alternatives? I'm using Ardupilot in a plane, but I'm really dissatisfied with Mission Planner. It might be some of the slowest software I've ever used
Hey, we use mission planner for our hydrone boat. We were working right next to a high security air field. Every time we tried to run a mission it would disarm our auto nav box. Have you heard of anything like this. Thanks
Im looking to get into this field for security purposes is there any settings to launch the drone at specific time intervals or say every couple hours?
hlo...this is just great videos series....i m just a beginner on quadcopter...i want to build autonomous quadcopter..can u please help me with that....just want to know what are hardware things you used for making this and software
good job on placing your cursor where we think it is haha
when you create a mission, the pc you bring with you must have internet connected or can it be off lne?
at each point we need to hold the drone for 10 sec , how to do it please tell me
Hello. could you kindly tell me if there is a way to adjust dead band like there is in betaflight. I've been discouraged from using my APM because of drifting and I know it could be corrected but no matter how much research I do I can't find a way to set dead band in mission planner
hey, how to setup radio to be able to use?
Great video, nicely detailed and explained. I´ve seen the whole serie and it really helps.
I have just one doubt, may you tell us what the "AZ" parameter is for? I had no luck trying to guess it. Thanks!
The AZ item is azimuth. This is the heading between 2 waypoints (when seen in the Waypoints pane) or the heading to your cursor from the home point (when seen in the upper left corner of the flight plan map).
I went through wizard and now the motors only run about half throttle on full will not lift off.Any thing that may have not been checked . ? the motor test on mission planner does not work with the Quantum Nova.
hi . i have apm 2.8 and i fly mini quads typically but before i head out to the field i was just wondering what i should do if i have a catastrophic failure ? lol . i assume i would head to the actions tab and if all else fails disarm it before it disappears.
Do you have a link to download this software?
hi, can i use mission planner on something which is not mentioned in the program ,like a paraglider or anything can be autonomous ?
Isn´t HUD. The correct name is PFD or Primary Flight Display
I have tried for the last hour trying to calibrated the compass through mission planner on my new Quantum Nova Pro and have been totally unsuccessful....I have watched several videos and point the axis north and rotate as instructed and it continues to give me a failed message....Help Please.
Very Good Video. Which Mission Planner Program are you using? Thanks
+Steph Rivette I'm sorry for the slow reply, I just saw this. I am currently using 1.3.37 which works quite well.
What API is using in Mission planner ?
how to install ? the execution file stops each time announces missing files.
Hello... Great Video!! Havent flown a Quad yet.. just researching.. I love the idea of using a quad or fixed wing for various types of inspections we need to do regularly.. I have a question about how Mission Planner communicates with with the Drone during flight to do such things as adjust or change waypoints, RTL, etc? What type of comm link is Mission Planner working with?
Ken, we use a long-range 900 MHz radio link on all of our aircraft that allows for complete control of the aircraft in flight.
Communication between the drone and MP is established through Telemetry (MAVlink).
Your cursor arrow did not follow your points of topic in this video.
You said you are using mission planner. And a specific version. What I don't quite get is what is the hardware that works with mission planner? Is it a Naze32? I doubt:-) NAZA? Dragonlink UHF? ImmersionRC UHF. There's so many receivers and FC boards I want to setup like this and doing lots of research. Also. Is there a way to get a small map view into FPV? One last question :-)... Is there a mobile app that's a little simpler for when you're AT the field and want to make on the fly changes to waypoints? Thanks!!!!
APM/Pixhawk flight controllers work with Mission Planner.
Curious...a speed is never set for the legs of the flight plan?
There is a default speed set on the autopilot. That default speed can be overridden with the flight plan if necessary but we do not typically do this.
When I open Mission Planner I do not get the Simulation or Terminal screen icons in the upper left corner, only the Help screen icon. I'm just learning this. Any thoughts?
Under Config/tuning, Planner turn the layout to advanced on the bottom
buenas, no me sale es icono verde con letra H, a que se debe? gracias
video sound is very low
fix your cursor mate
