European Minimum Wages vs Purchasing Power - Salaries in Europe and the USA vs Purchasing Power

Monthly minimum wage as a proportion of average monthly earnings in the business economy and in industry, construction and services (except activities of households as employers and extra-territorial organizations and bodies). The data are annual from 2022.
Purchasing Power Standard (PPS) is an artificial common reference currency unit used in the European Union which eliminates the differences of price levels between countries.
Minimum wage statistics cover EU Member States and the candidate countries plus the USA with a national minimum wage: employees in all sectors or at least in a majority of sectors.
Denmark, Italy, Austria, Finland and Sweden as well as Iceland, Norway and Switzerland: minimum wages are set by sectoral collective agreements. Cyprus: minimum wages are set by the government for some specific occupations.
Data are released in January and July on the basis of information from national authorities such as national statistical institutes and ministries of labour and social affairs.
