Uyen, you bring me to tears when you take responsibility for the drama/fighting in the relationship due to the childhood trauma you are processing. I am also working with this. You have grown so much in the short time I have been watching you. I see you trusting GB more and being less hypervigilant and aggressive. I have been silently thinking you are doing so much work on yourself and deserve praise. Today, I just had to say it. You are a wonderful example for all of us. I love you. ❤
@@karenbowe6834 but i don't think she had trauma i've watched about all her content and i only know that she was surprised by the social dynamics in germany. her preconceived notions of relationships were that you should avoid arguing as much as possible and that women should be obedient, and men should be assertive. that's not a big deal. it's part of the cultural differences. and there is nothing wrong with how relationships work if they were different, as long as there's no abuse. in fact, you can say that her upbringing was great and it prepared her well for life, even if the intent was to impress her future husband. i mean, she was taught how to cut fruit beautifully! isn't that impressive and good for creativity?
@GoodMorning-b2w what you just described is not a cultural difference. No one should have to keep their mouth shut just to keep the peace. That is abuse. We are all entitled to be ourselves, not a Stepford puppet. Even if that is not physical abuse, it is emotional abuse because you disappear. You start to feel badly about yourself because you feel like your needs and thoughts are insignificant and unworthy, thus you are worthless.
I love Culture Cuddles. I am constantly looking to see if there is a new video of yours. You helped me get through being in the hospital's ICU for 5 days. It was very hard going from being fine at 8am to being put in the ICU by noon. I don't remember much about the first day, but the next 4 days was hard and watching your funny videos helped me keep my mind occupied. Have a very blessed New Year.
+1! uyen’s videos helped me to get through my unplanned hospitalisation days, i was just watching your video one after another in isolation room, thanks for cheering us up on days where we were hit the most emotionally ❤️ hope you have a even greater year in 2025!
I too used to be a lot more ‘dramatic’. My mother (love her dearly but..) always had a high intensity in-your-face approach to socialising and communicating. So when I met my peaceful calm, straight-up, easygoing, let the little things slide, listen to what the feelings are, not the words partner, I really learned a lot and a decade after his death, I still keep this in mind when dealing with other people. There’s a lot of strength to be found in mildness
Hi Uyen, I love your openness and self-reflection so much. I just wanted to share that for me, I’ve sometimes had the urge to be “aggressive” and start fights in my relationship not just because I didn’t know how to relax enough (which was true) but also because legitimate things were bothering me that I needed to learn to express in a calmer and more grounded way. My partner also never started fights, but sometimes he was a bit too passive. And that was a real issue that was worth addressing. I don’t know if that applies in any way to your situation or not. I’m sure German bf is great, and your relationship seems so loving and strong. But he may not be *literally perfect* just because he doesn’t initiate conflict. And that’s okay! I’ve learned it’s okay to be mad sometimes, even when you love your partner and know they are wonderful. Anger is natural part of human experience. There are just more or less helpful ways to respond to it. These are just my reflections. Hoping for a wonderful New Year for you and all of your viewers!
I really like your podcast with your future husband. And it was so touching to see how invested he is in the Christmas decorations. I saw a completely new side of him. It is very obvious how much he loves you. And I wish you all the very best luck and blessings in your life together.
Hi Uyen, I love your sweater ❤. My Dutch boyfriend is similar to your german boyfriend, I’m the dramaqueen in the relationship, and he’s the more rational one despite having autism and adhd. Yet we hardly ever argue, because we talk all the time. Communication is key and we also have a so called “trigger” word: banana. If things get heated and one of us says banana, the other person knows: “oh hey, this is a boundary, I need to walk away from the situation.” But actually we never even need it. German boyfriend is a keeper for sure, you guys are so adorable together❤
Incase you havent heard lately? You are actually a beautiful person inside and out. I personally love you and Fiance content, it brings joy. Life can be a bit tough and over whelming for everyone. But you both bring some joy Just saying thank you. We all deal with alot of real life situations, that are beyond our control. Medically, emotionally, physically, spiritually. Again. Thank you for realism in your life as well laughter and ^.^ spot on day to day. :) you both are tops
I was living in Singapore for 10+ years. 2 years back, Uyen’s content started appearing on my UA-cam and I’ve been following her since then. I moved to Berlin 3 months ago and randomly ran into Uyen and the German bf while eating lunch 😂. Now I have the privilege of knowing how the German bf looks like 😂. Cám ơn Uyên, chúc Uyên và gia đình năm mới 2025 bình an và mạnh khoẻ!
Consider giving your crochet creations to children in hospital or people in elder care. Here in the US we also have a program where firefighters, police, and emergency personnel have a cuddly toy to give children experiencing a trauma. I love you like a grandma
I thoroughly enjoy Culture Cuddles! You both are willing to share your perspectives AND be respectful of each other the entire time. I’ve learned from you in every episode. Keep up the fabulous and meaningful work!
Uyen whatever it is that is bringing you down in your personal life I hope it clears up soon. You are a wonderful positive force and I really appreciate that thankyou for being vulnerable with us.
Culture Cuddles is wonderful! It’s real and you both discuss each other’s culture and then negotiate how to intertwine both cultures into your relationship. Both of you are intrigued and interested in other cultures and learn about them and then share this with your audience. I am studying cultures in university to find similarities and connections to encourage others to learn and adapt especially in the workplace. Please continue the podcast, both of your voices are pleasant to listen to and there is an openness in your conversations- so nice to hear and watch 😊
Uyen, I hardly ever comment on YT videos but I wanted to let u know that I always watch every one of yours and adore the new podcast! U & GB are THE most adorable people on this planet! Couple goals fo sho! Thanks for all the serious content and esp the laughs! In the US homeless shelters and domestic violence shelters always need toys so the children can be comforted. Maybe it’s the same in your town and u can donate your stuffies to them. Happy New Year! 🎉
All the videos are my favorite. The long videos are great. I love the podcasts because we hear Gf's point of view as well. Continue with what you are doing.
Beautiful lady, I loved the video with GB’s arm instead of yours! Please feel proud of yourself for working on drama reduction, gratefulness, personal stuff and being healthy and happy with the little things in life and the big ones too. I wish for you to have a garden someday to grow vegetables and flowers, maybe with a heated greenhouse! Happy travels to see your family, too! 3-4 months between trips seems just right. Love you culture cuddles podcast, too. When you’re older you will have fun watching them again!
I am a new subscriber and love your honesty and sense of humor. For sleeping on a long plane ride, try noise canceling headphones. I finally got some and used them on a 10 hour flight and I finally slept.
it's good to know there are more positive things going around then negatives this year. I hope 2025 turns out amazing for you, your family and everyone else!
My son works for Google and travels the world for them. Their campuses are AMAZING!!!! Three meals a day, areas to go play if your brain doesn't want to work, the walls are filled with things to touch and move. I wish I was younger to be able to work for them.
The year that you do the most wedding planning and the year you welcome a new baby are the hardest years in a relationship- when you grow the most! So happy you have such a supportive and kind partner!
Happy New Year to you Uyen and to German Boyfriend. I am sorry to hear that you had some personal problems and I hope that you might find a good way to solve them. May 2025 be happier for you than 2024. The next time you come to England, come to the Dorset Coast, which is beautiful in itself and has the bonus of fossil hunting for those interested. Cheers!
There are several options to donate crochet works. You can ask around locally, i.e. anywhere a child in need might benefit from a plushie. Or you can check with octopus für frühchen online, they have a bit stricter material requirements but those will go to prematurely born babys to hold onto while still in hospital care.
I crochet too and although your work can pile up, it takes way too much time to open a shop. I showed just a few coworkers pictures of my crocheting and started getting requests for custom items with little notice and the money they offered barely covered supplies. Better to just give them away than deal with customers.
@ I thought about like Etsy shop or your own website for the business. Uyen doesn’t have 9-5 job so maybe it could work out. You can offer paying with PayPal, Klarna and so on. If you have resources and knowledge about marketing and so on I think it’s worth to try. Doesn’t need to be a shop for steady income. Maybe just a hobby that can help you feel good, sense of accomplishment … Just a thought ✌🏻
Im so happy for you! We are American, and my husband is a first generation German american and I find so many similarities between how you talk about German bf and my husband. He is so stable and I'm a mess at times. You are so right. All I have to do is calm down and love/appreciate him and all is good. 😊 i wonder if it's a German thing? Congratulations for all your success!! I've loved watching all of your videos, long and short. ❤❤
This is the year that I found you as well. I am a Greek living in London for the last 10 years and I was learning German since I was 10 or something. You make me laugh so much with your short videos and I enjoy your long content so so much. To a year full of energy, love and calmness!!! ❤️🧡💛
Uyen, you could do an adventscalender every year for your followers. Everyday another follower gets chosen somehow and receives one of your crocheted goods. Your followers would be super happy to receive something from you and you would have found a way to not get your apartment full of stuff. :)
U thanks for the recap! I absolutely luv your content, your transparency, honesty, down to earth, humor and sharing German boyfriend with us while still respecting his privacy! I am wishing you both all the best for 2025 ❤
I've watched so many end of year wrap ups and while all are appreciated, this one is just special. Wishing all good things for Uyen & GB in 2025!!! 🎉🥂🎆❤
I'm a crocheter, too. The first video I saw on Facebook was the one about getting stopped at Security when you're a crochet girlie. I have been a fan ever since, and love all your videos. If I have to choose a favorite, it's the one when GB is sitting in front of the sharing pot and says he'll eat the food because he loves you and wants your mother to love him. ❤ Another favorite it the one where you taught him to admire your nails, and he stops you from opening a can so you don't ruin your nails. 😁 There are so many that are relatable and funny-- cooking and eating with spices, GB using your expensive shampoo, the pokemon... But the wedding dress video... ❤❤❤ I was almost crying! I wish you and GB all the happiness!! ❤
Cheers from Texas. Uyen you are such a light 🕯️. I love your content. I traveled to Munich this year in August and I'm guessing that is why the algorithm sent your channel to my feed. Thank you for sharing Germany through your eyes. All the best to you in 2025.
I just watched your recap video. Some places you should travel to are northern Norway. In summer, you can experience the midnight sun and bright days where the sun does not set behind the horizon. In winter, you can experience white snow, cold and darkness around the clock. But in the evening we have the magical northern lights go across the sky. And for GB go to Kalasin in Thailand. To see the dinosaur park. Wishing you and GB a very happy New Year. And good luck with the wedding.
18:20 I crochet to keep my hands busy. Keeping your place on a pattern while using the metro is difficult. You can make granny squares. Those are perfect for bus rides. Once you have a pile of them, they can be made into anything. A bag, a scarf, a wrap, a jumper, a blanket, an Xmas tree, a Onesie for GB.
I went and looked to remind myself of what short form videos you have posted this year cause theres been so many. My favourite of yours are always your funny ones or the ones that it looks like you're having fun, I love the one about you having lived there for 4 years and I think the new ones with German boyfriend singing are really funny. I think all your videos are great long and short, I've even got my husband hooked. Have a great year and remember to take time for yourself and to have lots of fun.
Wonderful video. Adore you❤ I suggest giving the crocheted items to children hospitals and other charities fir needy kids. Also how about making some pretty soft carriage sets for infants. Hat, booties and carriage blankets. Wonderful gifts to for expectant moms!
Great video Uyen 💜 I absolutely love all of your videos and it was so interesting to hear about your year. It would be great if you made a video on the kind of music/bands that you liked when you were growing up in Vietnam and also the music that you like now. It would also be great to hear which bands German boyfriend liked when he was growing up in Germany. I'm in Scotland and when i was a kid in the 80's and 90's I absolutely loved some brilliant German bands such as Propaganda, Modern Talking, Kraftwerk, Alphaville etc 🎵🎤🎸
Uyen, you are so sweet! You bring a lot of happiness into the world. Thank you for all you do. Say Hi to German Boyfriend. Happy New Year! Alles Gute ins Neue Jahr.
Being genuinely willing to try and become a better person is all anybody needs from a partner. It's also SO rare. Almost nobody is willing to do it, because almost nobody is willing to do the incredibly easy step of admitting their mistakes. By contrast, you do that so easily all the time. German boyfriend is clearly a great man, but he also comes from a culture that values that kind of forthrightness. You're a great woman who comes from a culture that does NOT value introspection (much like America, I would argue as an American) and that makes your self-honesty all the more impressive. cheers to a long and happy life together!
It was so much fun to follow you along this year again! For me I think the funniest short was the one where you announced to drink Germans at the Oktoberfest under the table 😂 Happy New Year and excited to see the videos coming then!
I’m guessing you’re having difficulty with your future in-laws. This is very painful and difficult on so many levels. I know you can’t comment on it. You are suffering silently inside. I have been there. I’m sending you peace and comfort for the year ahead in navigating this inner and outer terrain. ❤
Uyen, thanks for opening new vistas. Your perspectives are engaging, and your candor is refreshing. I like hearing about the contrasts of your upbringing in Viet Nam and life in Germany.
Uyen, I am so happy I stumbled across your channel. I love your humour and learning about your life in Germany and how it differs from Vietnam. I will look forward to see your content in 2025 🙌🏻
Happy New Year Uyen. I wish you and GBF happiness and good fortune. I am glad you enjoyed your visit to Australia. 2024 Your videos have improved. You are so talented, your scenarios are entertaining & funny. In my opinion you deserved to win the UA-cam awards.
Hi Uyen and German Boyfriend! This year I discovered your channel, through the shorts. I found it very funny and very relatable, since I too, am in a mixed culture relationship. I am Romanian and he is Norwegian and we both live in Norway. We have a lot of similarities with you guys, and I chuckle every time you make videos about these cultural differences. I love both formats of videos, for different reasons. Yours is definitely one of my most favourite channels on YT this year. I wish you both a Happy New Year and smooth sailing into the future! Hugs from Norway!
Uyen, dear, when criticizing yourself for starting fights, etc. please please consider that you are out of your comfort zone in every possible way and this puts you in a way harder situation than your partner. So I beg you don’t talk like that about yourself and don’t think that way about yourself honey ☹️
15:38 that's really heartbreaking whenever i start to downplay actors' struggles since they earn a lot, i remember that it's not that easy because they have to wait all day if i had to wait that long, i'd get a migrane and feel so tired
Thank you for your videos this year, you made me laugh even in my bad moments (of which there were unfortunately a few) and your podcast is really a unique juwel! Childhood trauma is really a thing that can bite you in the butt, especially later in life, and it has happened to both me and my partner over the years (we have been together for 12 years), but with reflection and will we are working on it permanently and it is truly not always easy, sometimes painful, sometimes exhausting and yet it has made the relationship stronger and more resilient ♥ I wish you both all the best, good luck, health, love and exciting moments for 2025 ♥
Fabulous 2024 video, so many experiences you've had and so many also with German boyfriend. Very happy you've popped into Australia. Love the long form videos. Suggestions for crocheted toys would be to donate to children's hospitals, poor families at Christmas through schools and organisations, sell them online. I haven't as yet watched your Podcast so will be doing that next. I enjoy watching you making your Vietnamese meals, the interactions between the different cultures and oh so many other things! Thank you Uyen and all the best for 2025.
Congratulations on your career and personal highlights. You're a fantastic content creator who brings much joy to the world. Best wishes and cheers to a wonderful 2025!
Uyen, your openness and self-reflection are so inspiring. It's amazing to see your growth and the love you and GBF share-it’s a beautiful example for us all. Wishing you both a joyful and fulfilling 2025!
Thank you for this video, looking forward to even more long form videos. I enjoy your shorts but the long form videos are a lot more fun to me. I also enjoy your pod cast being in a interracial relationship with a german and an asian (south korean) so some things feel very famliar, others not quite.
So strange.... I'm an Australian, and I find Europe extremely expensive in comparison! Maybe depends on the places you visited. I hope you come back and explore more.
Being a woman in our society is not easy and we are healing from a lot of trauma. Know that you are not alone. We support one another and I hope you have a beautiful new year. Remember you are loved ❤
Re: crochet toys-are there any charities that would take them to distribute? like to people in hospitals, or foster kids, or people in nursing homes, etc? Might be a way for you to keep crocheting but not become overwhelmed with the cute things.
HiUyen, I started following your video's just some weeks ago and love the funny and realistic things you and bf bring up. I am Dutch and my family has connections with Romania and South Korea, so the differences are similar sometimes. Well done on a great year!
You could make giveaways for your fans with your crochet projects :) or donate them for a good cause? Just an idea. Love your videos, they light up my day
As you mature, you'll make less drama. Maybe it's how you show him that you're feeling vulnerable but instead of just telling him how you feel - maybe insecure that day - you pick a fight. You want to engage with him but you're not yet at the stage of just telling him how you're feeling. I used to be like that and its a lot less drama to just speak your truth instead of upsetting the household. Congrats on a great year and more airtime with German Boyfriend! Happy 2025
You could donate the things you crochet that way you can keep making more without them taking over your house. I crochet too and gift things to friends and sometimes I donate things because I just make too much stuff.
I love you. ❤
My wish for 2025 is for Uyen to do a video with Anna Runkle about good marriages after childhood trauma
@@karenbowe6834 but i don't think she had trauma
i've watched about all her content and i only know that she was surprised by the social dynamics in germany. her preconceived notions of relationships were that you should avoid arguing as much as possible and that women should be obedient, and men should be assertive. that's not a big deal. it's part of the cultural differences. and there is nothing wrong with how relationships work if they were different, as long as there's no abuse.

@GoodMorning-b2wwell good thing then that you don’t get to decide who gets to have trauma in life. everything worked out perfectly 😊
@GoodMorning-b2w what you just described is not a cultural difference. No one should have to keep their mouth shut just to keep the peace. That is abuse. 💯
Or donate to children's centers or something like that.

Yes!! First time I have been able to see an upload from you in less than 15 minutes of it being posted!!!
I absolutely love this woman's energy
I'm a crocheter, too. The first video I saw on Facebook was the one about getting stopped at Security when you're a crochet girlie. I have been a fan ever since, and love all your videos.
If I have to choose a favorite, it's the one when GB is sitting in front of the sharing pot and says he'll eat the food because he loves you and wants your mother to love him. ❤
Another favorite it the one where you taught him to admire your nails, and he stops you from opening a can so you don't ruin your nails. 😁
There are so many that are relatable and funny-- cooking and eating with spices, GB using your expensive shampoo, the pokemon...
😊😊😊
18:20 I crochet to keep my hands busy. Keeping your place on a pattern while using the metro is difficult. You can make granny squares. Those are perfect for bus rides. Once you have a pile of them, they can be made into anything. A bag, a scarf, a wrap, a jumper, a blanket, an Xmas tree, a Onesie for GB.
Prayers for you and German B.F. that things will be smoother in 2025. God bless you guys!🥰
Adore you❤
I suggest giving the crocheted items to children hospitals and other charities fir needy kids.
Also how about making some pretty soft carriage sets for infants. Hat, booties and carriage blankets.
Wonderful gifts to for expectant moms!
I love your long form video. I hope they do well and make you tons of money. You deserve it.
Loved all your content this year!
Hello Uyen! I am watching you from Ukraine. And I am also study German. You are very nice and funny, I am really like your short videos.❤
Uyen, you are so sweet! You bring a lot of happiness into the world. Thank you for all you do. Say Hi to German Boyfriend. Happy New Year! Alles Gute ins Neue Jahr.
We love you and German boyfriend..can't wait to see what you do in the New Year ❤
Being genuinely willing to try and become a better person is all anybody needs from a partner.
There are not many people on UA-cam that I watch or subscribe as my interest are quite different but your are my most watched channel in 2024😊
It was so much fun to follow you along this year again!
Please consider opening a shop selling your crochet dolls and items. I love your channel 😊
“He’s already kinda 5:05 perfect.” Yeah, that’s another way to say, ‘I love you’.
UN ❤️GF and we’re so happy about that.
Uyen, thanks for opening new vistas. Your perspectives are engaging, and your candor is refreshing. I like hearing about the contrasts of your upbringing in Viet Nam and life in Germany.
I'm so Happy for you! Congratulations
Love your content Uyen, with or without German boyfriend! It has been wonderful to watch your channel grow 🎉❤
So I beg you don’t talk like that about yourself and don’t think that way about yourself honey ☹️
well its good that she knows that she needs to stop causing unnecessary drama
@@solomonedgettcholosky4521 totally I just hope that it’s the same both ways.
11:26 Those are also helpful if you are eating & crocheting!
15:38
that's really heartbreaking
whenever i start to downplay actors' struggles since they earn a lot, i remember that it's not that easy because they have to wait all day
if i had to wait that long, i'd get a migrane and feel so tired
Thank you for your videos this year, you made me laugh even in my bad moments (of which there were unfortunately a few) and your podcast is really a unique juwel! Childhood trauma is really a thing that can bite you in the butt, especially later in life, and it has happened to both me and my partner over the years (we have been together for 12 years), but with reflection and will we are working on it permanently and it is truly not always easy, sometimes painful, sometimes exhausting and yet it has made the relationship stronger and more resilient ♥ I wish you both all the best, good luck, health, love and exciting moments for 2025 ♥
Breaking cycles and choosing to grow and reflect on things is a challenge worth taking on and is a demonstration of true strength ❤
You had a full year! Loved the update! Much happiness and many blessings in 2025! ❤
Please start a Uyen Crochet Store! You can sell the adorable things you make! Or maybe do a giveaway every once in a while?
Just being nominated for those awards is such an honor!
Love that you and German bf added the podcast. I look forward to it.
First generation Eastern European here and also pretty darn stoic 😉. Happy New Year!
I think the beer opening video was so funny!! One of my favorites!
I love your videos. They are a bright spot in a ugly world. I always feel better and have a smile on my face after I watch .😊
18:14 Maybe donate them to a children’s hospital, nursing home, homeless shelter, etc. That way you can enjoy your hobby and give back ❤
Good idea. Alzheimer's patients do better sometimes to have a stuffed toy or bed to hold.
This is a fantastic idea.
Love you two. And the insects of course. 😊
Happy 2025
I love the culture cuddles podcast! Looking forward to more of it !
10:00 with wedding dresses it’s pretty easy, you feel pretty, and you’ve got the feeling it’s perfect, every bride who’d gone through this knows that
You could donate the things you crochet that way you can keep making more without them taking over your house. I crochet too and gift things to friends and sometimes I donate things because I just make too much stuff.
I love your sweater! It's super cute and the color really suits you.
