Why anyone would dislike this is beyond me, as a electrical/mechanical build and fault finding historical kinda bloke, I am impressed with the methodical way you have gone about it, and found your way round the problems, while coming to your own conclusions rather than listening to the naysayers, well done Dan!.
as the saying goes , people who say it cant be done should not interrupt those doing it , good on you dan for sticking at it mate .keep up the good work
Where were you 10 years ago when I tried to do this and gave up the idea as I couldn’t find a definitive guide like this. Your so good at this video stuff. As your confidence builds the videos are getting better. Keep it up. Tell Abi my wife loved her valentines gift and card too.
Sorry about that!!! Thank you for watching bud, Glad you are enjoying it. Thank you so so much for supporting Abi's Business. So glad your wife liked the card and gift.
@@alexposegil yea, the information is out there if you put the time in to look, as Dan says in the vid. Just seems like you need to break through the crust of negative people trying to milk cash out of you 😄
Fantastic series mate, I've just fitted 2998 touran cards to my 07 caddy. Luckily both the touran and the caddy loom connectors are the same so 👍🏼, when I bought the van it already had touran wing mirrors on and no repinning needed and everything works apart from the central locking, but wasn't working when I bought the van and is something I need to investigate. Love the channel and has been a massive help keep up the good work 👏🤜❤️
I've a 07 caddy I'm about to do electric windows. What year cards do I need as id rather not do a repin if I don't need to? Did you get the central locking sorted
Dan, I consider myself pretty handy, but I’ve got to tell you, your auto electric ability, skills & patience are soooo far above my level. Big R for respect buddy! - live long and prosper 🖖 👍
I just completed the dash swap and door cards from a Touran on my 2010 MK3 Caddy and it was a bit different to in this video. First of all, massive respect to Dan Chambers for going through the pain of investigating this, filming it and presenting it in a way that we can all understand. In case someone else does this. I bought the wiring loom from ebay as Dan did, but the big difference on mine was that when it come to running the cables inside the door to the window mechanism, the whole where the wire goes was already wired. Tracing this back I could see that the door loom had an extra (fatter cable) that looked like power to me, that the car didn't have. So, I plugged my new feed cable from the fuse box into the spare hole on the inside of the van that corresponded to the fatter cable in the door loom and everything worked as it should. Central locking, and windows both sides. My key doesn't work on the remote so I have not tested if this operates the doors and I have not switched the cables per the recommendation. That is for another day. Love the channel, Dan!
The look on your face was priceless after you'd got it all working ...... another great vid Dan. PS got the Tesco shopping cart mark out of the Kombi just in time for the cable to pop out of the door handle, anyway Listers fixed it ... good job done and looking forward to the next installment
Great work Dan. Had the same with t4 central locking units. Quick strip down, sourced some little electric motors, rebuild and success. Anything is possible!
Hell yeah touran door cards looking great! some wiring and dedication there I never listen to the no can do-ers the chances are none of them even tried it and pulling answers out of their asses lol
Dan I absolutely love your vids, Im a T5.1 owner and have watched all your contents, all really good and Im loving the caddy. Keep it up pal and Im looking forward to your up coming videos. 👍🏻 lovin pal.
I just used the cable from the touran loom to run the wire for the power, Hardest part was getting all the loom tape off after all those years of being stuck together, stanley knife took care of that.part
Another great video, love watching this stuff even though my caddy has electric Windows etc, still great viewing. Nearly 23k subscribers now, well done.
Can’t thank you enough for these videos,im attempting a gti bumper just like yours this week, after watching your how to videos👍🏻I’ve searched for info for so long on a tutorial for the bumper graft, and you came to the rescue just in time, top man 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
Congrats on the 20k buddy, already well over that now anyway! Been following you since the Van, great to see you on the caddy and the golf. Can’t wait to see what’s next (but let’s get the golf done first!) 👌🏻
Sorry written whilst watching. Great job as always Dan. Enjoy watching your video. Love the enjoyment you are getting from doing it and you are giving off.
Your face when it worked! Priceless mate. Been following you since the 2nd episode, and have no interest in the VW stuff. So why do I follow you? Indomitable spirit, tenacity, innovation and humility. Brilliant mate. Loving all the content.
New sub like the caddy vids I’ve got a my own caddy I wanna throw seats in the back and found your videos very i just watch now to see all the sneaky clip tricks and tips 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼😂
I have just done this conversion and the extra 12v window motor power feeds I'm pretty sure should be permanent live (not switched) which is the top row of fuses on my 2013 caddy - numbers above 43. I don't understand how you got this working using fuse position 31 since that would usually be a switched live position? Mine wouldn't. Anyone who's having trouble perhaps try the permanent live power feed. Otherwise an absolutely brilliant 'how to' which helped me a lot - especially the re-pinning! Top man Dan!
Dan the man, thanks for that mate, just fitted mine and thanks to you it went well. Keep up the good work. Nb. There is no wire in pin 13 on the passenger side but it makes no difference it works anyway. Thanks again
Top work there Dan, electrics scare the shit out of me so I rarely touch them. Congrats on the 20000 as well, no doubt you will be getting more views than Eastenders soon.
Nice one Dan,you’ll be helping other people out with this video unlike that miserable sod who said it can’t be done and probably thought he wanted to be the only one who had that conversion in his..... #knowledgeispower
Awesome, Dan. As always, love your determination, mate. Bad idea going on the Caddy2K forum, you will end up with Caddyitus. Seriously, when I had my vans, I was on there and a they are brilliant set of people, with so many incredibly knowledgeable guys. Keep it going on the Caddy & the GTI.👊
Brilliant video buddy I'm just about to do the same job on my caddy and was really struggling to find the right information to do it properly I'll follow your instructions and hopefully have the same results as loving hoe the caddy built is coming along and I'm looking forward to seeing more on it.
Well done Dan, more great content, I can only imagine the 3 dislikes were they naysayers that said it couldn’t be bone ! 🤣🤣 looking forward to the next update 👍
The rubbers dry out in the summer. Sometimes they won’t close and go back down to fully open position. To reset the motor limits hold window button for 10-15 seconds after fully closed. The same goes for fully open. 👍🏻
Well done mate. Thats a result. Im sure you can code some extra’s in now like windows up and down on the key. I have a genuine VAGCOM lead you can borrow for a bit to play with.
Hello Dan, not sure if you will ever see this, but I just searched for a video like this having brought a vw caddy 2007 3 weeks ago. Alot of people must have the same thought process regarding winding down windows 😂. I don't know anything about cars, and forgive me if this is a stupid questing, but why is it not as simple as buying the doors or a "Touran", and bolting them on to the caddy🤔🤷🏾♂️😂
@@DanChambersDAC cheers for the reply Dan, it took you to reply that to realise just how much of an SFQ that was 🤦🏽♂️🤣🤣🤣. Congrats on the success of you're channel, its gone massive considering the amount of time🍾. I'll continue to watch you're caddy build for ideas. Thanks again.
Perfect conversion for a nice looking family van

Another superb vid Dan....... love the “I knew it would work” smile...... 1 for all the “it’ll never work” people. Caddy’s coming along very nicely👍
Mind blowing Dan , but well done , if you don't try it , you won't know. Great video Dan. Who's a happy chap

good on you dude..VW scene is like the magic circle when it comes to sharing info 😂
