PlusOne2Crit LD is also bad because DRK has no self-healing outside of Soul Eater, which isn’t enough to heal you for the amount required to not die. At least with Holmgang, sure you will still drop to 1 like Bolide, you at least have Equilibrium, Nascent Flash, and Thrill of Battle to heal you enough to where you won’t die afterwords and still lets you avoid mechanics because of it. And in the final Emet-Selch Tales from the Shadow story, he asks the falling curtain to pause for his "encore" before he actually leaves.
My friend Nero and I were crying tears of joy when we realized that Emet-Selch saved us. It's a shame that we probably won't see him again after this. Worst part is, I fear that no other villain (if you can call him one) will potentially be able to surpass him in terms of being loveable and memorable. I hope I'm wrong with the next villain that was teased at the end of 5.3's story but he seems more like a rich asshole then anything else

@@LS-mb4my It's not something I could come up with on the fly, though, and in fact I hadn't thought of it until your comment. Incidentally, I played AST for this fight, so it was a matter of making good use of my aoe healing abilities and working with the other healer - who I think was also an AST.

well.. with tank lb3 yeah maybe. But most dungeons were easy outdpsed so it wasnt really needed and the party and especially tanks has/have insane surviveabillitys. If protes and AST cards werent removed you probably diddnt need lb3. There was a JP-only White Day Blog where Hythlodaeus sends White Day gifts to Emet-Selch, and he said to the delivery moogle that Hades was in the Lifestream and due to his sassiness, he may or may not accept the gifts.
Decided to spoil myself on this fight since I can't sub atm, was 100% worth for hand wave.
That's weird, we had a checkpoint when we did the boss... Actually thought it was easy too easy, but it seems like we had an experienced tank on our team so knew the gimmick. Didn't even know it was a thing until searching this video.
I didn’t know hallowed was a thing he did cause our group used tank lb3 right away got the checkpoint then saved the lb for healers or another lb4
Damn. I wish I would have had such a reaction, but I didn't even recognize Emet. I also thought it was us, the Ascian Emet saw in us before our fight.
I cried the first time on the Emet part it was amazing god this game is amazing.
OOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! I cried like a baby! Oh my heart!
iam calling it. either in one instance or at the final last boss fight, we WOL will do LB4 too.
hell just made it like final fight in FF7, just you WOL and zenos maybe? stand one on one, both waiting for each LB to full and whoever faster to click it.
"one of the spectre is hildibrand"
WAITWAITWAIT WHERE
Near the end of the dungeon. I remember he's in the Lakeland section
@@NulienTia I'd have to look myself to remember. Was going off the background from one of my friend's posts on it
@@NulienTia I'm also guessing you can't go full burst DPS since spectre you don't engage on the sidelines vanish after each wave you defeat
@@NulienTia was doing the gauntlet and got Hildibrand to appear twice in a row. It was funny seeing his shredded outfit and being amnesiac like when we first found him for Nashu
I believe he spawns at random. Do the dungeon enough times he'll eventually show up
Oh shit I remember someone in my group saying he uses Hallowed I didn't realize it was for the fucking LB
I literally fucking squeaked with joy when I saw the sassy wave
LB4 is the 1.0 logo.
Nope. Look it up. It's not
Since I used mine while he was casting, I didn't even know he can Hallowed our LB attempt
Can't wait to see what he can do in extreme.
Emet's like the reverse Thanos snap
I remember when I healed this fight and a dps tried to lb the boss and he popped hallowed, so I rescued them to cancel the lb cast so it wouldnt go to waste and they got kinda mad because of it.....then like 5 people died to the next fire dot aoe and dragon dive and i used heal lb3 after. I tried to explain that rescue when it ended, but they left before i could. Im sorry to who ever that was but know it was the right call
Yeah, you have to counter his LB4 with a Tank LB3, I also threw out Passage of Arms for good measure.
Admit it you threw it out to look dope compare to his passage of zodiark
I had a carbon copy graha (minus the staff + some cloak details) in my trial run!
this QTE is in response to all the people who complained the QTEs were too easy.
04:38 Timestamp for those who want to know Tate reaction
I think that everyone that did it blind didn't know to Tank LB3 on his LB4, wish they communicated it better to the player cause it kills the hype moment right after we come back thanks to the best ascian boi.
Who tf seed lb4 and go “oh this wont hurt that much” it was very obvious that a tank lb was needed there.
lNannerl I disagree, it is clear that it will hurt but usually normal defensive cooldowns are used in those kind of situations while the fights that DEMAND use of tank LB3 are scarce and unintuitive since lb3 is usually saved for damage. Off the top of my head A12s required tank lb3 ? And here you have a normal msq trial. Wow, yes very obvious. Get outta here xd.
The game literally says 'You must break your limits to whether this storm.'
How much better do you want it communicated? Pressing it FOR you?
I feel like if you're not constantly itching to tank LB3 you're playing tank wrong
I saw a "mash space" in chat : DONT DO THAT !
Much much easier, if you're on PC, is to have 8 fingers on 8 different letter keys, and mash those 8 keys all at the same time !
This way, the jauge won't even go down lol.
Elidibus's grhaaa when bahamut flies across... ah yeah!
I thought I was the only one who had their lb blocked by hallowed ground
Man they really put a whole ass cutscene in this fight
@4:40 There it is! :D
>Double SCH
>full healed immediately
Could be done easily if they're up to snuff and know what to do, and if one's willing to sacrifice a little extra MP or an OGCD.
And man, seeing the good times had is really nice.
Recitation Emergency Tactics Succor Aetherflow Indom is how I'd do it.
@@GayLPer Nice, simple, and effective.
@@LS-mb4my It's not something I could come up with on the fly, though, and in fact I hadn't thought of it until your comment.
Incidentally, I played AST for this fight, so it was a matter of making good use of my aoe healing abilities and working with the other healer - who I think was also an AST.
This is why I play WHM on new content XD so I can be like "how boned am I gonna be on SCH or AST"
@@GayLPer I played DRK for the fight when I went through, but I mainly play SCH so I would have found some way to deal with the Living Dead debuff even if the other healer was a SCH.
If the cohealer was another SCH, but a bit lacking as a healer, like a sprout or one of those annoying DPS parse obsessed healers who will refuse to heal even when the other healer's dead, I'd even throw in a Seraph to help pick up the slack.
WHEN HE WAVED I SWEAR I ALMOST BROKE MY FUCKING CHAIR AND DESK AND KEYBOARD AND MONITOR AND MOUSE I WAS LOSING MY SHIT
anyone who knows what Tate has his Shukuchi macroed for?
It’s target.
[WARNING! SPOILERS!]
OMG you guys triggered everything except the fail on the QTE, which I got because I was trying to be a cool shit and use my keyboard, not realizing the ONLY key that works is spacebar and I hit everything but that. I was a GNB and I was too dazzled by EMMET and LB4WTFHAX to press my LB.
it's enough to make a grown man cry and that's ok
OH SHIT! THOSE POOR SCHS! THEY'LL NEVER BE ABLE TO HEAL THAT DEBUFF OFF!
Sam dying at the lb4 and getting cucked out of lb3 gets me every single time
I'm like the ONLY PERSON who MISSED EMET'S SASSY WAVE!
Dude you skip the Reveal
I thought that was hyth. I didn't think that was actually emet
wait can you not LB him at all I didnt notice that go off when our ninja used his LB and he died after
If he has an LB gauge active (to the limit) he will HG.
He doesn't do it if the LB isn't a kill. I did a dancer one since we had no melee DPS and the damage wasn't high enough for an auto kill so he didn't HG.
My group saved our lb for another lb4 after we passed that mech first try so we didn’t have to deal with the hallowed ground
No fight left to fight
You guys died more than my group did. Though your group also actually did the second phase mechanics properly. I kept getting mowed down by two attacks stacked on me. XD Pains of the healer. Also. Am i the only one happy that the Tank lb3 is finally useful in a MSQ trial?
well.. with tank lb3 yeah maybe. But most dungeons were easy outdpsed so it wasnt really needed and the party and especially tanks has/have insane surviveabillitys. If protes and AST cards werent removed you probably diddnt need lb3. I kinda dont like the way my WHM went in shb, actually even more boring than before with stuff gone, the new 2 heal spells, fine, but overload as fuck, instantcast burst heal for single/aoe and a big dps bomb that has a huge buildup time.. i miss my aoe dots and with AST i miss my specific cards.. Also i think that Shinryu on release was kinda stronger than this fight. I wiped 7 hrs straight on that
Poor Sam, first the LB3 says fck that guy, then Elidibus says NOPE to his LB 🤣
but also, Hallowed didn't say fuck that Asican like it does to other Paladins :^)
I didn't notice Hildebrand
Emet Selch saving our asses cracked me up.
i was drinking water when he said the sans shit.... XD
