Koichi Sugiyama’s way better at doing more gentler, refined and adventurous themes, whereas Ifukube comes across more as a one trick pony who just knows how to encapsulate the raw might of behemoths duking it out. Ifukube will always be the quintessential composer for Godzilla, I won’t debate that, but in my opinion Sugiyama’s work-especially for GvB-is where the Heisei era should’ve veered more towards instead of returning to Showa era rambunctiousness.

i think showa's origin is the best origin for king ghidorah, the fact that showa king ghidorah literally just goes to random planets and just destroys everything in it and then just flies away and repeat makes him more menacing and evil than radioactive furby dolls.

Akira Ifukube was amazing. He was able to implement Ghidorah's roar through 🎶 in his theme @ 0:37. Akira Ifukube really was an absolute genius composer.

Technically they did, but it was a very short snip of the soundtrack, unfortunately. If you rewatch the antartica scene, when Ghidorah flies away, you’ll be able to recognize the tune from 1991.
