Thanks for the vid, I’m about to do the same job however my issue is with the lens on these and other side (screen side) from the look of it, it’s best to do it the same way. Remove the back cover like you did and access the lens from the back after removing the back lens as you did. There are no vids anywhere showing it done from the screen side. Just not sure if I can remove the tape connector from the screen side lens from the back of the camera.
@matthewlister1042 Thanks for your quick response. I've only dunked my camera in water for maybe 10 seconds at a time, and it's not very important to me, but it would be nice to preserve that capability. When you reassembled everything did it seem like the waterproofing was compromised at all?
@@KingCobbones the gasket on the inside wasn't damaged at all when I reassembled it so I'm assuming it would still be OK. Ive read some other reviews saying the camera in factory condition isn't great in underwater condition. If I was going to be doing more underwater shooting then I would rather purchase an underwater case and use that
@matthewlister1042 Thanks. I've only dunked my camera in water by about a foot, so nothing major. Yes, it looked like the inner gasket would be fine, my concern was with the outer cover. I do snow ski, so it is exposed to some moisture at times. Thanks again for your video!
@@johnnyfromindonesia the removable lens protector did effect my footage with extra glare and stitching so I took them off. Need to final a better alternative

Actually, just zoomed in on your vid and the connector tape for the screen side lens is right next to the other one so should work ok fine👍
Very helpful
great video
Did you need to use any sealant for waterproofing? Have you taken any submerged videos since replacement of the lens?
@@KingCobbones I'm not going to be using it for underwater video so I didn't bother
