Why would you compare a 305hp FWD Car to a 345hp 4WD Car.. You cant compare the Focus RS to the Civic Type R, the Focus RS is now in the same league or classification as the Mercedes Benz A45 AMG and Audi RS3
I HATE these turboed four banger hatchbacks. Focus, Golfs, Honda's Type R, you name it. To the common non-car guy/gal, they always think these cars will lose to my stang. They look okay (not my taste), don't sound all that great even with aftermarket exhaust work (except maybe a STI), and technically perceived as 'lower' on the manufacturer's tier list (ie Focus < Fusion, Golfs < Passat, etc.) yet these mother f'n cars are performance animals. Yes, I'm salty/mad but I have massive respect for these cars and their owners because they put my bolt on V8 to shame. Every. God. Damn. Time. #ModernSleepers?
Well then, try to buy 1 as your second car. It will be an easy excuse. "But honey, we need a family car to bring the kids to school!" And then on weekends you drive on the track or canyons with that. :)

Sorry to disappoint you but Ford of Europe is largely to be credited for the Focus RS here. But, hey, the Ford Mustang was a Ford of America product, & CT (particularly Alex who drove one for a few days) quite loved it as well. :D
+zzzhuh Focus RS technically isn't totally an American car. It was mainly designed and engineered by the European Ford Performance team. All Focus RS' will also be manufactured in Saarlouis Germany.

I think the ford lineup has also enhanced greatly since they bought Aston Martin. I almost feel like they have been able to share ideas in such a way that has really moved ford into a great performance direction.
Just a tid bit of video quality advice: put a nice 4 track stereo mic in the car, and sync the audio with all the cameras. it would sound great! This videos are already excellent, keep going!

I've always loved the '16 Focus RS from when I saw it many months ago. Everything is just so...wow about it. A FWD hatch turn 4WD, with an additional drift mode to allow for perfect hooning.
As soon as I saw that the new RS was coming to America I was hyped. Everything since then has been great. Who can't love this car with AWD, 350hp, and a drift button. I hope people buy the crap out of this car so that when I have the money I can get one on the cheaper side.

The guys who drove Escort and Sierra Cosworths in their younger years, who are older now and most likely in a much better economical situation will find this car very tempting. Finally back to its roots with 4wd, cause lets be honest, the mark II RS has a little more HP than it needs for FWD. I have a mark II Focus ST, with the straight-5 engine, so I was slightly disappointed that they went for a 4-cylinder engine, but this one apparantly sounds great too. I hope I can afford a used one in a fem years. I really want this car... :(
showed this car to my wife even though she loved Old Subaru Hatches she said NO within 2 seconds, so we got a new Sti and I just had my stage 3 put on and im making 300whp/340tq on only 19.5psi in sport#! no overboost bandaids needed like this thing. Dealers WILL be marking up this upside-down, ball-sack looking car by $5-7k. Subaru is ALREADY selling the S207 (in japan) w/ active dampners, 10:01 rack!! and real diff vectoring....alot of people dislike this car looks wise and wish it had more width.
this car is beautiful. I don't really like Ford all that much, but they've come a long way in recent years for me. Now it's time for the guys at AMG to step up their game
