So Chevy was the lowest on the list, and then you had Pontiac that was also getting performance bonuses. then came the 80's and well let's face it they had not done gains in engines due to new fuels and emissions. and then some hope in the 1990's and finally GM was too heavy to keep the competition to high in its own class of cars. So now many brands where retired. some sold. And now we have a leaner a less of a class of living on cars. See once the old men let the new men in control. We now have cars that kids love again. but it will be Chevrolet/Cadillac/GMC why? simple no kid would buy an grandpa car Oldsmobile, or a old single man's cheaper Caddy disguised as a Buick.... Besides words like icky, have sealed its fate. Saturn was an experiment for small cars light weight. if it failed it could have been just a shadow. and then gone. So Chevy can now have leather dash, and premium brand stuff. Sad that we lost a few great names. like Trans-am/Grand Prix/SKY/GNX/GTO just to name a few. But we also use cars differently. many have city buses and or Ubber and that actually saves a lot on millage. So we do not buy cars as often and with more competition the world of cars has evolved. and so did Chevrolet Corvette....

Lambochaser your absolutely correct on that one but the same quality is also the question look at car companies like Audi, they are the absolute standard in quality interiors, regardless if it’s your taste or not, it’s not easy do to get his quality look at 90% that’s on the market. Not a lot can do this.
I ordered mine in Rapid Blue. I should be getting my TPW ( Target Production Week ) very soon. Got 3LT package , Z51 package , magnetic ride , Tension blue seat belts , black and blue interior , Carbon fiber interior and Carbon fiber engine appearance package. Will be putting aftermarket rims on it first day. Who knows might do a couple UA-cam videos too just for fun. Shmee keep up the kickass almost daily videos. Love them!!!

I'm so thrilled to see new life pumped into the Corvette. Every generation has had incremental improvements, but this is its most significant leap since the original Stingray (C2) went to the IRS rear and disk brakes. I love my C1 and C2s, but its great to see so much excitement around the marque again.
That's some serious 'on point' driving by yourself there, Tim. I have to say that I was very impressed. At certain points, it seemed that the pace car might have been holding you up a little. You were really going for it. Great job and fantastic video, Wow!!

A bold step for the brand, bringing in new fans and enthusiasts. I admire the progressive journey to the end product, much thought and engineering went into it. May be an advantage to have the resources and RnD of a huge company, but still took a leap to get where they are. That blue was killer, and loved that you said "Holy Moly" :)
I have to admit, I was really looking forward to your full review of the C8, because of your experience with so many Supercars from around the world. Does it truly stack up against the True Supercars,,,,I think no. A few more hundred thousand, or another million or two buys you a lot. But slot in any other car that costs $60,000 against the base Corvette,,, or $80,000 agAinst a decked out Z51,,,I think the new Vette comes out as The Supercar of that bunch! Well reviewed Shmee, well presented.
Those engineers got the life. Romping on a product they designed all day long. Also really cool the opportunity Chevy has given UA-camrs to be able to take the cars out for a spin in Vegas. Then go to a racetrack for a few laps to drive the car hard.
Looks fun to drive even though I'm not a vette fan, however it is a nice looking car and for the price I can see how many fans would have a lot of fun owning and driving this vehicle. It is good to see Shmee doing a review on a car while driving it on a track though.....truly epic for sure!!!
Nice Tim. I have to say that they have elevated the Corvette from a plasticky bodied, oversized & so-so engineered drag car to a now very impressive, compelling drivers car. Sounds fantastic too.

Emelia Hartford was in that same event, you know her? The spoiler in the blue one looks much better than the standard spoiler. In fact, that package in the first one is the one to go for IMO.

Its fresh yet it is still Chevrolet's halo car. I must say that I honestly don't get the argument that it has to be exclusive for it to be a supercar. It is one, it just happens to be mass produced.

It isn't just fast, but it also requires your full attention. You had a full work out on the track, and that's something you don't get from a lot of high performance cars nowadays. Oh, and I'd totally call it a budget supercar. Just look at it!

I didn't care too much for it at first either, but it's slowly growing on me. The car performance, quality, and fun factor is at the front of the line for me.

Best video yet on this car. This track is perfect for the C8, this isnt VIR or Nurburgring, this track is not a pure hp track. Much like Thunderhill west or Watkins Glen. Blackhawk farms too.

New Vette is a game changer for sure, those twin turbskis waiting in the shadows to be slapped on this machine.
