The Terrestrial Defense Force forms a Science Guard Party in order to investigate the cause of mysterious phenomena that continue to happen around the world. Choichiro Hikari, chosen for the Science Guard, is on his way back from Space Station EGG 3 when he encounters a mysterious red light. Inside the light he merges with a superman who calls himself "Ultraman" but Hikari tells himself that the experience is just a dream, and continues towards Earth.

For those wondering about the subs, they’re the exact same as the ones used for TOKUHD. Not only did Mil Creak not make any changes for fix any of the translation or subtitles mistakes, many of the subs are mistimed, but they also formatted the subs in a very weird way.
I should point out that, while this series starts out as basically an animated remake of the original Ultraman, it does get better as it goes on as it finds its own identity and creates its own lore.

On my Mill Creek DVD the subs are, as you say, left justified. But on this UA-cam release by Tokushoutsu, they are centered as they should be. I wonder if they were fixed later. Also.ivd heard a lot of people complain about the picture quality of the DVD, but I don't seem to have any problems.
