As for Lingyang, I prefer the new design: I'm totally ok with bestial features, but they were too emphasized in his first design. That's just my opinion. Don't really care about the loli, but she obviously looks much better now. Baizhi, Yinlin and Chixia are the massive W, they are absolutely PERFECT!

What I mean by this is that there are a lot of games that are too focused on the DPS portion of fighting games instead of the opportunity and spectacle. They are too focused on one thing and neglect others. I hope someone from the dev team will one day see this comment (since I posted it all over their channel) because the one thing that will make a Gacha explode is this simple trick: Making the units synergise well with the mechanics being presented. Two examples I’ll bring up are Aether Gazer and Path to Nowhere to explain this. Aether Gazer is similarly an action game with fighting, but what makes that game shines is that each 4 star has a unique perk related to buffing their element type or granting opportunities via team ultimates. Spectacle fighting has a heart and soul built on how the player can mix and match different varieties, but each one being viable and granting new strategies for attack. To better explain this I’ll bring up my next example, which is Path to Nowhere. It may be a tower defence game completely different from WuWa, but the reason I stayed with that game is because even the lowest ranking unit has a particular role. One that is sometimes essential to fight. In PtN, B Ranks (blue units) are actually more important than gold or purple units while playing. There are times when you will lose despite using all your golden units with their big multipliers because you neglected an aspect of the game by using only them. Path to Nowhere kept the relevance of low rank characters into late game by making their role in ‘breaking’ enemies essential. All of them are better at doing it than even 5 stars, despite having worse multipliers. A variety of buffs that aren’t simplified into Atk buffs and Crit buffs will give the game more variety in builds. It’ll make players play the game completely differently from others. Buffing damage done to broken enemies, leech damage, true damage, etc. These are the kind of variables that would make fighting much more of a strategy while moving. Letting the player choose when they will go in for the kill or when they will stay dodging without attacking for a certain duration. I really hope we get that sort of game instead of gatekeeping progress. If the gameplay loop isn’t fun then no one will care if they got to the end of the story early or not. People like challenges and adversity. Removing them only makes it boring. The way the best games survive is paid cosmetics, which many of them get because they can put it on their favourite character regardless of tier and play pretty well. It’s this that should be focused on when trying to make the game more popular, thus earning more from a growing player base. There is already shiny Pokémon now. All that’s needed is more outfit colours and cosmetics. Paid cosmetics of course since it’s better to give free players that stuff in events. That’s all I wanted to say.

First I saw lycaon tectone was kinda right on the furry bait he had a sexy voice, muscular build, and people who are furries normally want to see that stuff while Lingyan design did not push any buttons for furry bait because hes a twink furry where you can find it in tv shows movies and other type of media be it younger, teen or adult
It is still possible that another character in the future will appear with furry characteristics. Ling Yang's case is much more exclusive to him because his introduction as a character in the first beta for the Chinese side was terrible and the Chinese players mocked the character a lot. what kuro did was like change actors to get rid of the drama

looking back i didnt even wanna try the game because the characters actually just looked terrible, they look alot better now and are higher quality models in general, so i am having atleast some hope for the game now. that beeing said i still think theres alot of improvement to be done for many of the characters. Its pretty cool though that they keep showing their new updated models to get feedback

Will Awu/Ling Yan, imo full furry shouldn't take precedence over human, ZZZ's another example where MOST male characters are going to be full furry on launch. There shouldn't be a situation where there's a furry version of a type of character before there is a human or at least mostly human version, this being the short male archetype.
I like new designs. Artis are great at they job. The red head look great in new outfit. Don't change anything. Also beastly characters might be cool but noone likes them e.g. everyone plays thieflings in DnD because sexy af and noone plays minotaurs
Agree with most of tectone's takes here but there's a few that I think are misses. The first one he caught himself when he was going full Simp over the dommy mommy redesign. But the other one is saying basically it's fine for characters to do brash and unreasonable things "because that's how characters are", in his own words. Like if you make a character and their character traits are that they personally are prone to making brash and unreasonable assumptions or doing those kinds of actions, then okay, that's their character. But not as a blanket statement of that's just how characters are. Reminds me of the logic "Well we have to make our characters do dumb things because then how else is the plot supposed to happen?" Unless you're fine with settling for slop writing, you should expect them to just write better stories that don't rely on characters being stupid.

I don't know why UA-cam recommended your Wuthering Wave videos but I'm happy it did since it introduced me to PGR which I decided to try on a whim. Been having fun playing that, it has some nice soundtracks and I'm looking forward to getting Crimson Weave in a few weeks. Cautiously optimistic for Wuthering Waves now that I've experienced a Kuro Game work but got to admit, the combat scenes of PGR look so much faster, flasy and cool so far while the WW is definitely closer to Genshin in aesthetic. Also open world is cool and all but it makes the daily chores longer since now you have to run around to do stuff.

Thats some WILD redesign I would of never expected a gacha company to pull such huge redesigns of characters off some CBT feedback like, its almost like they never planned to roll with the designs in the first place, most companies would of just saved that feedback to make a new banner character that fit that feedback to the letter.
So I've learned that the game has gotten way better overall as the designs were the biggest turn off for me so I'm looking forward to letting genshin collect dust 😁👍

So I've learned that the game has gotten way better overall as the designs were the biggest turn off for me so I'm looking forward to letting genshin collect dust 😁👍
