Notre Dame has stayed the most dominant team since last memorial day weekend. The Irish seemingly get better every single week boasting a 12-1 record. Their number 1 ranking stayed strong when they dominated Duke in the ACC championship with a score of 16-6. This Notre Dame defense is only allowing 9.31 goals per game ranking 4th in the country while playing in the most competitive conference. Stars like Liam Entenmann and Ben Ramsey lead this Irish defense to their success. In the ACC championship Entenmann had 12 saves and a 67% save rate. The Irish play a heavy help style of defense that is defined by its simplicity. They do the simple things right and don’t make mistakes. Notre Dame defense is built around sending shooters to bad angles. This means denying topside is crucial, when you send shooters to bad angles where slides can meet them and you have the best goalie in the country it is nearly impossible to get scored on.
