Hey GG, got an idea to raise the stakes on this kind of a challenge. You can give me credit by inviting me to play next time you're near NJ, have an amateur × GG challenge. Hey, that 2 ideas. Back to the original idea: have the 2 man group play separately and take the best or worst score. Imagine Bubbie not knowing how Steve shot on the hole, and now he's gotta think about making a better score without knowing if a par is better or if Steve already made par so his OB shot is not a problem. Then you tee flip to see who's score you take, all totally blind. It's got potential to wreck a team or save a team.
Did Matt get cleared to play by a Dr?? Or was this filmed prior? Because the distal tendon tear on his wrist normally means a splint for 4-6 weeks, and if left unhealed could lead to permanent damage, loss of movement, and arthritis. Only asking cuz I care
It's definitely not beautiful even when he hits a great drive. Matt's swing is strange, it can hit some good shots but you also have those that start way offline blocked way right, topped, shanked because Matt arms turn to jello (it's the best way to describe it) mainly irons but sometimes drives. I have no clue how matt is able to do this, it's like his arms become wavy, you really see with chipping or shorter shots.
@@chosen1one930 its very good actually at least on the drive at 16:57, actually maintaining a good structure with the left arm, starting with an explosive turn and letting the club do the work for you with your hands falling into place from the rotation. your swing is not supposed to be rigid, jello is the way
@@chosen1one930 agreed...people who actually know golf and don't get caught up in matt's garbage antics, it's whippy and floppy...zero control on ball height, can't work it left to right...he's very overrated
@pivotmaster9556 no way jello? Wtf is your handicap. His swing does look terrible especially on short shots and chips. Not supposed to be jello like. He occasionally hits decent shots but is definitely unconventional and just looks like he's always on a terrible swing path. Those that know golf know

Great round! I'm sure Brad would say that's what those videos are for! I'm a bit younger than you, just started playing consistently a little over a year ago, and I just broke 100 for the first time in March. Still sitting on 96 as my best round, I'll have to check out those lab videos and see if it can help me take a jump as well. I feel like my ball striking has gotten more consistent, just missing something to bring it all together. I shot a 43 on the back 9 of my last round, so I know it's there.
Just gotta say I love the switching up of the handicaps to have Bubbie and Steve in a team. Also great to see you guys in my neck of the woods, this is a top notch course.
Are not you allowed to disturb the sand using your feet as the ball is rolling back so that it doesn't sit down in your footprint? I'm guessing not haha.
@@DanBai123 As in, the course has them on the tee boxes? That would be sweet. I never got to use one when I played competitively. I feel like it would help you hone in your distances and fix soo many things.
@jaronhaan1 yeah, exactly. I thought it was a feature the course offered. It's a nice course. I'm only on hole 11 in the video so I'm not sure if there's more than one where they do that, but I could definitely see it being a course feature for a hole or two at a nice course
Rough day for Brad, such bad luck with the bunkers. You fought hard and somehow, with endless determination, finished minus one. Great job. Dang, Steve was worse than me last year but hits some of the most amazing shots now. If he took it more seriously, he would be a scratch or less golfer.

@@JonnyPlaysGolfproved out in the first round too. At everyone's current pace they'd win by a wide margin. Brad, Garrett, and Matt can go lower though.
@@ericchoi7873 Not most of us. We find the swing that works, fix it whenever we stray from it and just practice. The mental game in golf is so important, a lot of people have it but for some reason you have golfers like Garrett that get inside their own head without even knowing it. Garrett is always changing things in his swing, not working on keeping a set swing or fixing something that goes astray, just randomly changing things when he's usually playing at least ok to good
@@ericchoi7873 Swaying away from what you know you practiced and deciding to change it on the course or even the range an hour before your tee time is one of the worst things you can do as a golfer. The range is meant to get your body warm and understand your ball flights for that day, not much besides that.
@@austnptrGarrett will just try changing things on the course, if you're playing bad sure, but not playing well. This really seems like it will be a weekly thing but the interesting thing is, Garrett's swing really hasn't changed that much, he just has so much going through his head that it affects other parts of his game.
We have a course here in Upstate N.Y. that Allistair Mckenzie designed!! He also designed Augusta National! Home of the Masters Tournament! 36 holes with a par 3 course just like Augusta with the yellow flags and all!! Mountain course and a Links style course!! Very tough I will play too if needed, local knowledge helps!!
Great video! Maybe could use a little less of the "I pushed it" or "I pulled it" almost every time you guys miss a putt. Not every missed putt is a push or pull. Sometimes (often times) you just miss the putt because you read it wrong or started it on the wrong line or whatever. The push or pull line assumes you would have made the putt if you hadn't left your putter face open or closed, which is low key braggadocious.
Gonna piggyback on this and address the "That was a draw" or "That was a fade" when the shots were clearly hooks and slices. Bubby seems to be one of the coolest guys ever but, 95% of the time he's hitting massive hooks and calling them draws.
Agree to disagree. Do you think a golfer should take more pride in his green reading or in his actual putting stroke? It would sound more like bragging, imo, if every time they missed a putt they said, 'i rolled that perfectly.' If you think about it, they do say, sometimes, that they put a good roll on it, usually saying something like 'that was end over end.' So it seems to me that sometimes they own up to bad green reading, and sometimes they own up to a bad stroke. And I trust the golfer to know, more than anybody else, whether they really did push or pull a putt.

@@marudebaka6041 doesn’t make sense. You don’t call an eagle a double birdie, also a double eagle would technically be 4 under par or what we would call a condor. Double birdie would actually make more sense. Since theres a single bogey, double bogey, etc.

I have a question - on the 17th hole when Brads bunker shot meant his ball rolled into his footprint, do the rules allow you to flatten your footprints with your foot before the ball gets back to you? Raking the bunker with your foot in essence - as long as you don’t touch the ball obviously?

“Honestly not bad, bald headed freak”
😅 Y’all make my day
This B & S format is great idea!!!👍👴🏌♂️⛳️🇺🇸🦅
I miss OG Scharff, i know he is going through a lot right now with Injury etc, but he is WAY better than that handicap. Great first vid though guys, can't wait to see the rest
I used to dislike Brad, but now I love him. God dang he’s good at golf and I wish I could play with the man one day. What a stripe show.
it’s so nice to see matt swinging it hard again
Good to see Matt is back.
@Gclarke, after you practice swings on your green side chips, when you step up to the ball, take a breath to relax. Then swing, that helped me stop chopping down into it.
Cool seeing the distance board come up on the tee shots!!
All the haters say that Gg is falling off or w/e, content is “boring” but this is probably the best golf video that I’ve watched in 2024. Quality is insane. Haters need to stop cry and go hate on DOD King or Micah or whoever else they cry about. Can’t wait for th next 18
Bubbie has been practicing his chipping!! Dude looks comfortable and is throwing darts
Garrett was just on another commentary level today. I loved it./ Sass, positivity, and overall just good guy today.
Matt hitting those back to back trees and just dying laughing got me good
I have a question - on the 17th hole when Brads bunker shot meant his ball rolled into his footprint, do the rules allow you to flatten your footprints with your foot before the ball gets back to you? Raking the bunker with your foot in essence - as long as you don’t touch the ball obviously?
