Your channel is a breath of fresh air from all other channels. Like the lecture style of your videos. I have tried your 3d pop formula and in my opinion it works. Thank you.
@@sneye1Tried the viltrox 23mm 1.4 18% ed and 1.1 complexity no pop. The viltrox 56mm 1.4 10% ed and 1.11 complexity was much better than the 23mm in pop. The most impressive lens is the 40mm nikon z which has no ed and the complexity is 1.5 which achieves a lot of pop. It maches the matches the nikon 58mm which also has no Ed and a 1.5 complexity. The 85mm nikon z is interesting in that it has 16.6 % Ed but the complexity is 1.5, to me it has some pop.
@@sneye1 Two other lenses that I have not tried but did the calculations which impress me are the 50mm 1.2z with only 11% Ed and 1.5 complexity and the best one the 85mm 1.2z which has 6% Ed and 1.5 complexity. Sadly they are too expensive for me to try them. Another lens which youtubers have praised a lot is the nikon 24-120z f4 which has 25% Ed and 1.23 complexity is seriously flat for portraits. Compared that to the super zoom 28-400mm nikon z which I own which has 19% Ed and 1.4 complexity ironically is better than the 24-120.
Blind tests. Data. Statistical analyses. The forming and reviewing of hypotheses... the scientific method! How refreshing 😄 Thank you, and I intend to keep watching as you have any further to add.
Thanks. Sometimes I am left aghast by how little critical thinking is applied to "opinions" on photography channels. Scientific methodology has its merits.

Please elaborate. Which lenses did you compare? How? What are your findings?

@@jaimediaz9687Thanks. Valuable information. I am considering ways to validate the model. Observations such as yours are massively helpful.

Let me recommend the 50 f1.8 Z. I have it. Not bad at all, despite having some ED. As to 85mm, the 85 f1.4 G has no match in Z mount. It is lovely.

I rather like your manner, delivery, and, of course, interesting content. You can get away with a lot with such nice accented English.
Thank you. Much appreciated.
