I was rooting for idom but I can’t lie I doubted him heavy as sonicsol cammy been going off. But SHEESH, its always the moments you doubt idom when he seems to pull through. Great player overall.
Sonicsol relied too much on hooligan shinanigans instead of staying grounded. Spinning knuckle as well where idom literally adapted and punished. That was intense tho sonic lookin like he about to wash idom at first glance.
Yes, but it's not even that blamable: 1) you fighting against a pro 2) Manon can command grab you on ground I think he went all nuts and try whatever he could airborne, risking much, but not granting easy medal to Manon. I think he did well actually, he just lack experience compared to iDom

If you keep jumping it's unsafe, but still got less damage than Medal4 command grab from neutral footsies. It's all relative in the end. iDom is scary and SonicSol didn't play bad IMO, they both tried something different for sure and it was fine. It's 5 days since the game came out and much still need to be discovered for every character.

I'd say it's a good mix of all. Frame trapping has always been there, so that hasn't changed much. The reason why we probably don't see footsies as much is probably because every character has a lot of tools now. From parry and rush, to command skills like hooligan, they all get used for footsies or confirms. If anything, I feel like this is probably one of the most balanced SF games yet.
There are a lot fewer frame traps overall. Manon for example has literally 0 plus on block normals, she has to drive rush to get any plus on block at all. At the same time, one button confirms into specials are less prevalent, most characters have tighter windows to cancel their normals compared to SFV. You can buffer drive rush for a safe confirm but it spends a lot of resource. Footsies on the other hand, there's a decent amount more of. In general the buttons reach much further than the stubby normals of SFV, but they're also easier to whiff punish due to punish counter. Additionally, a lot of good pokes are not special cancellable which means that if your opponent chooses to drive impact at the same time they'll blow you up. There's a nice risk/reward between pressure that is safely structured around drive impact, and peppering in buttons that are much better as pokes but unsafe if spammed/read. I think one thing that is a bit annoying is that throwing out lights and buffering drive rush behind it is very low risk and pretty decent reward, but again it's a lot of resource to spend so I guess that's the idea behind it being fine
Most normals are - on block, unless you spend resources to drive rush. This isn't SF5 where every character has their token +2 normal to frametrap a 5f/throw from.
When both players have drive gauges it’s more or less SF4. When you put someone in burnout you can play a little sfv due to the extra plus frames. And when you are both in burnout y’all just playing sf2.
I’ve seen many cammy replays and they usually irritate me cuz all they do is 3 hit combos and never use her lv3 or anything, sonic sol and kazunoko definitely know how to use cammy, sonic sol also uses hooligan to mix his opponents up which other cammy players in these “ replays” don’t do lol
I think You only need to know some 2 o 3 combos and block take advantage on the spaces and connect. If u don't know how to play a player can win only worth throw 😪
No one uses Hooligan cuz its easily punishable, it’s really not that good to use, cammy is a snowball character, once u knock ‘em down once with ur spiral arrow ur not necessarily looking for combos. She has really good mix ups to rush down ur opponent and keep them guessing, also she has the fastest walking speed out of any other character in the game, meaning u can hit them with command grabs easily. Idk about not using her lvl3, most the replays I see ppl are doing crazy combos into her lvl 3
I feel like Manon requires so much more focus and attention just to get in on your opponent cause of poor neutral game to balance out her ridiculous max damage grapples. Playing her makes you feel disadvantaged until you get max stats and they become afraid.
WTF dude? You realize only NoBrainers play Manon. This character is the most broken and easiest to play. Block command grab block command grab. Get your 5 medals, kill in 2 command grabs: Win. Zero effort involved. Ah sometimes you can slap a bit with the hands or a little footsie here and there to avoid looking even more ridiculous. But this shit character Manon can even beat Zangief at his own game. And she is the most unbelievable character when it comes to " hit realism and damage", she just dances around with ultra light moves and does ten times more damage than the most visually hard hitting characters. People just like to live with a black veil over their eyes without questioning real problems especially when they take advantage of it (broke character mechanics which are usually useful for trolling).
anyone else get the impression that idom was prioritizing combos over gaining medals in many of these rounds? im not even a quarter the player idom is so im curious if my reaction is correct and if it is why he might be doing that. in my mind, getting medals trumps all, especially in round one. but i cant bring mysself to doubt idom, just try to understand what im seeing
That's the point. Some hit confirm (FP > FP combo especially) can lead to command grab or combo. It's a 50-50 guess. If I do command grab and you jump, you won and can punish with some MK or FP or FK. If I combo and you jump I get to hit you and it's still my turn. If you stand and block the combo, still my turn and you slowly loose drive gauge for defending hits and I can try to grab while combo or reset and start all over. iDom went to combo because I think the damage was pretty good against Cammy and SonicSol managed to jump out pretty often and his punish was good, so iDom thought "Nah, let's try something different"
@@KTSamurai1 I'd imagine the higher Manon's medals, the more fearful the opponent becomes of the grabs. Going for combos at high medal is probably safer because it'll be the option the opponent doesn't expect.
Are you on drugs? She used 90% Drive guage and Critical Art and barely got 50% damage. Cammy's damage is low but I think it's balanced given her tools.
I stumbled once by coincidence on his stream, didn't even know the guy existed, saw him getting angry over nothing, told a joke over him tilting so he calms down, the guy banned me hhhhhhhhh The boy has some serious anger management issue.
Anyone else fucking tired of facing Manons? Im close to Diamond and literally 70% of my matches are against her. I have a 80% WR overall so its not like im struggling, but its getting really boring. I barely fight any Kens and Ryus anymore lmao. (EU btw)
