This song is so meaningful for me. Once upon a time while I was leaving my own land, I listened to this song in the plane. lyrics are so heart touching. No matter how beautiful the country you go, your own land hides inside your heart, and you can't escape this reality that one day you long for everything you leave behind. Thanks Arkona, after years the same taste and memories
I still dream of the day the 6 of them will do a festival together, each with their own separate setlist of songs, but finishing off with На Моей Земле. One can dream :')
A multilingual romanticist pan-European's wet dream. I could imagine someone like like Alphonse Mucha listening to this and enjoying it. Greetings from Lithuania and thank you for the well made video!
Me, as a Dutch man, for the first time listening be like be like: 8:46 I didn't know Arkona also sang in German 11:55 WAIT! Is that Heidevolk?! *googles the song*
Beautiful. I see the meaning of the song as being told from a perspective of someone leaving their country of origin to find a better future for themselves and it never feels like the protagonist belongs in the land they travel to until their inner being cries out for the same closeness, for the same care and love they felt growing up in their motherland but, eventually, it clicks and they feel the same in a completely different country and culture because they stop looking at the land beneath their bloodied from walking feet and start looking forward to the people alien and yet so close, different folk who have been so kind to the traveler throughout their journey showing their cultures and inviting the main character of the song inside for a drink and a break. All the while walking the earth and looking for land, the traveler realises all of the beauty of different peoples they had come across and now that combined appreciation for THE CULTURE as a whole forms their new “motherland”. “This land is mine!” their soul screams seeing completely new places but so closely fit for them to belong at. This song mainly feels like this because there is a long journey forward but no traveling back and even the climax is sudden like a realisation on the spot, a new spot the protagonist finds themselves in, and not the end of the journey that is still very much ahead. As someone who would call himself patriotic but with no real feeling of belonging to a particular plot of land this speaks to me on many levels. True art clicks with different people despite the initial meaning put into the work.
Thank you for this gem! I've been listening to it only knowing English for ages, fascinating to see the interplay of all the different cultures in one song. :')
Vocalists Mark Bockting and Joris Boghtdrincker have contributed vocals to the Arkona song titled "Na Moey Zemle" (На моей земле) (In my Land). This track also features vocalists from Månegarm of Sweden, Obtest of Lithuania, Menhir of Germany, and Skyforger of Latvia.[2] Each sings in their native language, playing the role of warriors from that region describing their homeland to a traveler.

Waar mijn broeders rond het vuur
Drinken in 't nachtelijk uur
