While most people agree with my actions, there are a few who believe I've done the wrong thing. Let me elaborate to save any further confusion. The amp in question is yet to be released, so most likely a prototype. I think it is only fair to give the company a chance to remedy any faults before it is officially launched. If the flaws are still there when it is released, I will post the video.
I could go ahead and post the video now to get more views as negative reviews of a product tend to generate more interest but I feel this would be a little underhand.
Giving these companies a feedback and a chance to improve without trashing their product is a fair point. Well done...
You are the most genuine guy on UA-cam. Respect
I think what you did was very generous. You gave them a chance to make good with the product. 👍 and I'm sure they will appreciate that.
I understand your honesty and I do like your Chanel. But I also wish more reviewers would post truthful reviews even if they are negative. To protect the consumer from making a bad purchase. Please keep up the good work 👍
I couldn't say it better.
It sounds like you did the gentlemanly thing. If it was a minor quirk here or there, then it’s fine to point that out in the review. But if it is a trash product, let the manufacturer know they have far more work to do on their end before public release.
I think you are very professional in your decision and you were very fair about contacting the company to get their input on what you experienced. It very well could have been a defective review model (cheap parts aside like feet..etc.) or they need to go back to their R&D department to work out the electrical issues that pertains to that particular device..
Like the way you handled this. I was glad you sent the a list of things needing improvement. If the company in question is sincere about putting out quality products, they should be receptive and grateful.
In the old days, HIFI magazines would say to the company your item is rubbish, do you still want it in the magazine.
Great video Marty I’ve reviewed a rather expensive Wet and dry vac on my channel it’s only been used a handful of times but broken already I’ve kept my findings strictly between me and the company but at stalemate at the moment I’m still keeping my findings between me and the company stay professional and the company will thank you for it 👍🏻
I think you did the right thing, even the big Hifi mags get faulty gear and they tend to reach out to the distributer and say we can't review this its not fit for purpose. That said, they do tend to mention the fault once the unit has been replaced during the final review. So I think it would be fair to mention the original issues when a replacement unit arrives for final review( also take a note of serial numbers)
I like your vids. Don't care what and how's, as long if it's true grts. from Holland.
What a classy way to handle this! I hope the Company takes on your feedback. If they don't, it's clear that they're really cutting corners deliberately. But yeah, a bad review of an unfinished product can hurt its reputation before one actual unit is sold. While now they have the chance to prove they at least want to produce a decent product. 👍
I agree with you.
It’s the civilised way.
Hey man, I've been around for your channel a long time now & like I've said before..I like your channel for its humor, honesty & how you generally seem like a regular Joe! And you seem to be into the same shit I'm into! So great job bud, keep it real & us real fans of your channel will always be here! 💯
I'd have done the same thing. They shouldn't be offended, but grateful I think.
Don't worry about it mate. There'll be plenty of reviewers who will say : Well, you put this amp on, and it does this, and sounds like this, and makes your Pink Floyd sound better. It's not about the products themselves, it's about the rabbit holes and the bullshit.
I would have done what you did
The ChiFi companies like and encourage feedback
They adapt and evolve which is cool
You are not alone in posting reviews that are generally positive and just not putting up negative reviews
It is nice to know if something is a train-wreck but we have ASR and its drones/true-believers to do the wet work and be snarky wankers 🤔
I my opinion I think you did the right thing .. but I would say I have been in your position where I've given the true feelings when I have been asked to give it but ! not everybody wants to hear your true feelings because they think they already know how good the item should be & they don't like to hear somebody telling them negative feedback.. but if that is so then they should not ask for your review opinions / Take it easy & keep up the good work.🎧🎼🎶 Honesty is the best way to tell the truth about what you have been asked because you will never tell anything other than from your heart.. full stop.
Who knows what company and amp it was then? I know I think
What about the folks that buy the amp unknowingly that might otherwise have seen a review with its faults and saved themselves the money and grief?
I didn't make it clear in the video. The amp is a prototype and yet to be released. I want to give them a chance to make the changes before its release. If they don't, I'll release the video.
@@UTILITARIANTVUK That makes all the difference.
It's nice to be nice lol 😁
Obviously give the company a chance to fix the problems, but if they dont then post the bad review. A bad review are worth 1000 times more than a regular "its fine". Reviews are there so you can do an educated buy...
So post the review but be honest and fair and give the company a chance to fix it before hand if the product is faulty.
Like the fact it has plastic feet... That is something they wont write in their missinformation, or some call it description of their product. Its a shitty product, consumers need to know about it. They wont send you another amp, well, that should be all fine by you or you aint a reviewer.
Why not tell us the product, so you will only be posting positive reviews then
I don’t agree with you there. If they send you a product of which they think is a finished and good product you should make an honest and impartial review. You could do this by telling good and bad things about it.
Ok it scrapes but does it work?
Ok it goes into protection but does it work well with a 36v? Then tell us this.
Companies like Fosi also started out with not the best reviews but they listened to the reviews and improved.
I think by not posting you actually chose the company over the potential buyers. I think both sides should benefit from a review ❤
Keep it up and take this review of me on the chin my man 😂

@@UTILITARIANTVUK I still think you should have given the same impartial review. They asked you to do so ☺️ if they feel confident enough to ask for a review, make the review ☺️
Sorry, I may have missed this, but was it a prototype amp or is it already on the shelf being sold? If they are awaiting feedback from you on things to improve before they put it out there, then good on ya. You're being very kind and supportive. But, if it's already on the sales floor and you know it to be junk and are not sharing with us who the company and what the model is, what is the point of your channel? Honestly, I love your reviews and the way you present them, but I watch them because I trust you and because your channel "Gives honest and unbiased opinions on HiFi equipment". I tend to gravitate towards reviewers like you because many of the others come across as salespeople. This halfhearted, salvage review had done nothing but make me wonder who it is that I need to scrutinize or avoid altogether. Just an honest opinion, I don't mean to come off as rude or unfeeling to the time and effort that you did put into this. Take care.
It's not on sale yet, so I hope they can make some changes before its official release?
Far too many Chinese companies producing mediocre products. They are pretty much the same with the same tech inside, different shell. Don't get me wrong. Some a superb, but most are overpriced and pretty awful. Should have made the video and been honest. Trouble is now Mart, how many people will buy it and thinks well, fair play this is a bag of doo. As an influencer, it's down to you to point the uneducated in the right direction. Get it made man!
It's not released yet so hopefully the company will respond and make changes before its release. If not, I'll post the video.
@@UTILITARIANTVUKfair play! That’s the fairest you can be to both the company and your viewers.
I used to do a lot of beta testing in another industry and I would never share my opinion with the community until it was a released product, (even if I never signed an NDA)and I would wait until I had shared all findings with the company directly.
All the very best!
If you post honest but bad reviews you won't get companies sending products in another way some poor sod has just purchased the amp from amazon you cannot win I personally would have posted the review and contacted the company to re review the updated version people want brutal honesty that way you're audience trusts you as a reviewer and we wouldn't think your being bought off great none review as always onwards and upwards 😮😮😮😮
The amp hasn't been launched yet. I wanted to give the company a chance before it goes live.
@UTILITARIANTVUK totally get it after all you were honest good job mart respect
I never buy anything until I have looked at reviews of the product.
Totally disagree with you on this one. You should be highlighting the problems for your viewers if the product was a finished article sent to you to do a UA-cam review and naming it. If the product was sent to you so that you could do a private review for the company then that is different and they should be paying you to do that so that they could make improvements on the back of it. Doing what you have done is unpaid work and has only helped the manufacturer and not your viewers which I presume is what UA-cam reviews are all about.
