Memorable moments for Charlotte: Buescher’s flip Kyle Busch becoming first driver to win at every active track One hot night Truex dominating If youre doing the roval: Tums heartburn turn Elliott coming back Harvick going straight Johnson and truex wrecking
For Charlotte it would be Casey Mears win in the 2007 Coca Cola 600!, Ryan Blaney’s Win in the 2023 Coca Cola 600, and also the 1996 Michael Waltrips win in the Winston Open (his first non points paying cup win)
Memorable moment for Charlotte: again, a race I was at, the 2011 All-Star Race, Carl Edwards wins, goes to take a spin through the grass to celebrate, and hits a drain and tears the front of the car off
Fun fact that 2001 race that Elliott sadler won i was at and Kurt Bush also ran a white 97 car and wrecked several times so when i tell you i was surprised to see him win the very next year
A memorable moment for Bristol could have included Kyle Busch's sweep , winning the truck, Xfinity, and cup race in a single weekend. Not sure but if I'm correct he has done it twice.
The 2005 coke 600 with a record setting number of cautions and the last hurrah for Bobby Labonte at JGR with his second place finish. Jamie McMurray winning his second career start in the 2002 fall race. The inaugural roval race.

Memorable moments for Charlotte: 2001 Winston Open/Winston where Ryan Newman would dominate the Open only to blow an engine with 2 to go, giving Johnny Benson Jr. the win. Then a rain-soaked first lap would force numerous drivers to their backup cars, with Jeff Gordon overcoming that deficit to win. 2002 Winston: Not quite as memorable; it was just odd seeing Jeff Gordon with a circle goatee.
You forgot that Sam Mayer got his first truck win at Bristol in 2020 and Ben Kennedy also got his first truck win at Bristol in 2016 you also forgot the race where Martin Truex Jr. and J. J. Yeley had a hard crash in 2018.
Thanks for the shout out! The Chase Vs Harvick fight was my first NASCAR Race and I was sitting 100 feet away from that fight. It didn’t show it a lot but harvick hit chase’s car when he pulled into the pits. Then got out with his helmet still on ready to fight and everybody in the crowd wanted it to happen. I can’t really blame chase tho. Harvick cut his chase’s tire down and ruined his night.
Charlotte Memorable moments: 2022 Coke 600 Chris Busher flip CMM: 2011 Dale Jr runs out of gas coming to the checkered CMM: 2018 Roval race big pile up at the finish
Memorable Moment for Charlotte to me: When Michael Waltrip and Dale Jr wrecked each other in the 2005 Coca Cola 600. Right after which Tony Eury Jr had some scathing words about dale jr’s team
Moments for Charlotte: -Dale runs out of gas in 2011, being 1/2 of the Indy 500/Coke 600 Double National Guard Choke -Justin Haley breaking the mileage record for a single NASCAR weekend this year -The Pedestrian Bridge Collapse Disaster during the 2000 All-Star Race -The all-star race in the next year.... "The track is wet!"
For Charlotte you should Mention either The 2011 Cocacola 600 finish with Dale JR and Kevin Harvick or the 2016 Cocacola 600, with Truex leading like 392 laps or something near that!
Hey this is my home track bout 15 mins from my dads only nascar race track ive ever been to and so happy that i got to go in the 90s when it truly was a different time
Oh, boy! We going to get a deep dive into NASCAR's home track. Charlotte! The track where Jeff Gordon won his first race(I pretty much know that as a Gordon fan!). I believe in the 1998 All-Star race at Charlotte, Jeff had that Jurassic Park scheme which he won with but it was an illegal car Ray Evernham got away with(I feel like I screwed up the wording or misunderstood it a lot, tbh. Correct me if I'm wrong.) Also, not really memorable but Chris Buesher flipping on the front stretch in 2022 of the Coke 600 was an odd one. That's kind of all I got. :P
Yeah, I think they should just scrap the Bristol spring race altogether. Weather continues to plague the running of the spring race, and that just isn't something that covering the Last Great Colosseum in dirt is going to help. Memorable moments at Charlotte: 2001 All-Star Race (Turn 1 wreck on lap 1 in the rain led to some classic NASCAR rule bending) 2022 Coca-Cola 600 (First good race at Charlotte in years [first at Charlotte with the Next Gen car]) 2016 Coca-Cola 600 (Martin Truex, Jr. led 392 of 400 laps en route to victory- utter domination) 2007 All-Star Race (Busch brothers wreck, and don't let it go until their grandmother gets involved at Thanksgiving [or was it Christmas?]) 1987 All-Star Race (Pass in the Grass [okay, this was before my time, but it's etched into NASCAR history]) Jimmie Johnson's three consecutive Coca-Cola 600s (and 5 consecutive victories overall) 1992 All-Star Race (One Hot Night) 2020 Roval race (or really that whole weekend, with the Xfinity race being held in a downpour, and the Cup race held on a drying track- the first time NASCAR had raced on rain tires in the Cup Series [yes, practice and qualifying at Suzuka in 1997 were run on rain tires, but the Roval in 2020 was the first race in which the Cup Series ran on rain tires])
BRING BRISTOL DIRT BACK PLEASE (not just cuz I’m a bell fan and a little bias but there was good racing in 2023) also please add most recent winner please in track history thanks
MTJ's absolute stinker in 2016 should be included for a honorbale moment at Charlotte for kicking everyone's ass that night leading all but like 15 laps
Why did they change the surface to concrete and why didn't they make the tarmac concrete? Wouldn't the change in surface cause issues when coming down to pit road? I'm amazed anyone would survive those two wrecks. it looks like both cars were completely obliterated. I'm also amazed all the truckers were able to fit on that tiny infield.

Every time I ever hear Bristol I always think about Dale Sr and Terry with Srs famous line, that will always be my number one memory
For charlotte, you should include the “KEEP YOUR FOOT IN IT” with Jeff Gordon during the 2009 all star race
Love it!
1.Jeff Gordon first win
2. The 1992 All Star race
3. The 1989 All Star race

Kyle Busch becoming first driver to win at every active track

That mears scheme is my favorite all time! Great stuff, thanks!
@@DoglegMediaMatt Your welcome man!
Gordons first win at charlotte in 94 was also the first for his car number and is a memorable moment for sure.
Absolutely!
Great video. No major misses here in my book. Only thing worth mentioning was that MW’s crash was a Busch race. Not Cup.
Honorble mention Blaney going from 3rd to 1st in one corner and then to the win at the Charlotte Roval
Memorable moment for Charlotte: again, a race I was at, the 2011 All-Star Race, Carl Edwards wins, goes to take a spin through the grass to celebrate, and hits a drain and tears the front of the car off

He has, and that diecast set from the first sweep is a coveted set for me 😅
@@DoglegMediaMattI didn't see the first sweep in 2010, but I saw the 2017 sweep on TV. I was freaking pumped.
For Charlotte: Casey Mears only cup victory and Kyle Perry’s first top 5 in over a decade in 2007
Love it!
The 2005 coke 600 with a record setting number of cautions and the last hurrah for Bobby Labonte at JGR with his second place finish. Jamie McMurray winning his second career start in the 2002 fall race. The inaugural roval race.
All great moments, although that first Roval race hurt me as a Jimmie fan 🥲
Honorable metion Keselowski finally getting the win there at Charlotte in 2020
Charlotte was the first superspeedway to host a night race with the 1992 Allstar race which itself was very memorable
It was indeed! Great mention!
I'm shocked that Kyle Busch's 2-time Bristol sweep wasn't mentioned as memorable moments
This was a major miss on my part…
What about DiBenedetto's finish in 2016, while driving a BK Racing car? Or his finish in 2019, while he was driving for Leavine-Family Racing?
I’m so glad someone else calls auto club Fontana. Felt like I was gaslighted into thinking I’d dreamt it up 😂😂
