The story of little Elif, who has great love in her tiny heart, touches the hearts... Elif, whose fate is drawn when her parents part ways, unaware of her existence, is born into difficulties. Although this is only a drama with an abusive husband & father who is ignorant, sloppy, and would rather sell his stepdaughter (human trafficking) to pay-off his gambling debts, but not to work so that he could provide for his family. In addition, the screen writer had the role of the father as a controlling freak with no respects for his own daughter as well. Elif on the other hand, is beautiful, adorably-sweet, and soft spoken little girl, while her mother, Melek is a beautiful woman with a low self-esteem. She does not put her daughter's safety first or hers, but prefers to be beaten up (per acting role).
The bottom line is, the drama is solidifying the abusive lives of women and children around the world. That is the reality of lives as portrait in this drama. My heart breaks with the profound question(s) Elif asked her mother, "Doesn't dad love us? If he loves, why does he treat us like that?" So sad, but powerful questions! This is actually going on with abusive families, the children witness such violence, and the mother can't do anything to stop it. Unfortunately, they are both victims of circumstances from the beginnings.
Nevertheless, I am very grateful for the English translations and the hard work. God bless
Why do they make such dramas, it only enhances the role that a helpless woman plays with an abusive husband. It’s hard to watch these dramas. In this day and age it’s vey heartening to watch.
Getting into a marriage with a daughter is not on, no one thinks of the children that enter this kind of marriage. They are are great danger,
