Wayne Marshall’s Harmonium is now working!

- I found this amazing Harmonium in Witchford Recycling Centre last year.
It was built by the American Harmonium Company - Palace Organs - in 1887!
Now it works again - thanks to my friend Grant Vicat - I’m very happy!
It really gave me the greatest pleasure revitalising such a beautifully made machine for such an appreciative player! Thank you Wayne for your lovely comments and for the fun of discovering things with you.

What a beautiful sound! Wonderful that you saved this historic instrument together with Grant, too many have been lost to moths and moss over the years!
Wonderful! I had a real beauty in my younger day, and foolishly connected a vacuum cleaner to draw air through it (situated 2 rooms away from the instrument). Unfortunately it loosened many of the reeds, it took me a year or so to repair.
Wonderful ! What an amazing find and well done for making it live again !

Totally fascinating! I think Vierne wrote some pieces for the Harmonium, but don't know if yours is the same kind of instrument. Never knew that the Reeds are sucked, not blown.

The bassoon's bass are impressive for such a small instrument.
