  • Close up view and noise of a flag stripe joining machine. It's a 2 needle chainstitch machine (no bobbins) utilizing a stainless steel folder to form a lap seam. The video starts underneath the machine. You can see the needles moving, though blurry. When I can get a strobe, I can do some stop motion video. You can then see the fabric being pulled through the machine, folded, sewn, and finally pulled through the back of the machine. The machine joins 100 yards before the rolls are changed.

    is this a double needle chainstitch?

      +Ryan Joaquim It's a Union Special 56400P 2 needle chainstitch, 3/16" gauge.

      We are thinking of getting a setup for joining pieces like this. Would you care to share more about how you got this set up? Assuming this is your setup. I'm interested in the roller guides you have there too because it looks like that helps keep it high speed and semi-autonomous
