Do you know if there’s an adapter for the city select 2017 stroller for this car seat ?

It should fit the regular Graco/BJ adapters.

What does it mean that it needs to be rethreaded?

Some car seats require you to thread the straps through a higher set of slots when the child gets taller. Other seats can adjust the back of the seat upward and not force you to mess with the straps.

It too friggin big for most cars. Find something else that is not as deep.
