To be honest, when I first saw the original video I forgot I was watching actors. Really, I was so invested in the story and the acting was phenomenal. There's just so much talent from the 20 min video I'm so excited to see what you do next!
That fraction of a second after Warfstache says "God you're a murderer" I swear there's just a moment where he looks so hurt and remorseful and it just breaks my heart each time
Damien was beautiful, but more like an art piece. Several artistic renderings strung together to tell a story....not really an animation. I'd love to see high quality art as animation, along with that ethereal dream-like quality + atmospheric ambience of Damien all combined into one unique experience. If anyone can make it happen, Mark can!
Hey, remember when Mark bought a pink moustache and thought it would be funny to wear while playing amnesia? Yeah, good times. I'm glad it got this far.
From that simple little gag sprouted a complex and confusing story, from the Cyndago skits to now, with Wilford and Dark, and so many other egos. How they all fit together and where they fall. All of this sprouted from Mark thinking "It would be funny to wear a pink mustache while I play Amnesia." And I think that's beautiful.
Okay, can we all take a moment to appreciate Mark's acting here? I mean, Mick was great, don't get me wrong - more than great, even, but Mark doesn't seem to give himself enough credit, either. Warfstache's body language is spot-on throughout, and how his emotions play out on his face is perfection. I mean, *gods above* , when he's coming to the realization that the Detective has no idea what's going on, there's... sure, there's curiosity at first, like Mark said during the stream, but you can see the curiosity slowly being replaced with understanding, kindness, *sadness* - for the Detective, who has a long, difficult road ahead of him, but also for himself and all of the people he's lost along the way and will lose in the future (up to and including himself as he was before the events of WKM, which a part of him does remember if the slip into Colonel mannerisms show anything). Warfstache *knows* the Detective will settle into whatever it is that house did to them, but the transition doesn't have to be as hard as it was for the Colonel, and it seems like he'll do anything to ensure that. (Granted, "anything" probably isn't the ***best*** thing when it comes to Warfstache, but... y'know. He'll try his best. :P )
I️ love the moment when Abe says he can’t remember and when you look at Warfstache and he has this look of pure understanding and sympathy for Abe because he knows exactly what it’s like to be in a world that makes no sense. He even has a glimpse of sadness because he doesn’t want anyone else to feel that kind of madness. And then Abe sits in the chair where he had Warfstache captured when he begins to realize he never had him captured because he’s been a prisoner to his own mind and body. It’s so good. So sad but so good. Mark you have to keep doing things like this. Things don’t make sense but slowly the viewer begins to piece things together. I️ love the symbolism in these. My favorite moments have to be when the viewer and the characters get this ahaha moment with a mix of sympathy because that moment shows the heartbreaking reason behind the video. Such a great job mark.
Mark's enthusiasm and pure love for what he does and the unadulterated joy it gives him is so refreshing to me. He clearly enjoys what he is doing and that shows in the what he does for the channel. It's amazing to see someone who isn't focused on making money on UA-cam but creates content that they take such pleasure in making for us.
His career’s great because he’s already made enough money for him to live super comfortably and now he can just make whatever he really wants to. It’s still his job and he’s still profiting off it but now he’s able to just do whatever the hell
something I noticed after watching Damien is that Markiplier doesn't refer to anyone as 'I' except for Wilfred. Mark is referred to as 'the Actor', Damien is Damien/Darkiplier, but only with Wilfred has he used 'I' to talk about the character.
That actually ties back to Who Killed Markiplier where the Colonel tells the Detective "I won't be called a murderer in my own house!" Right after the chef gets in his face saying "we don't work for you anymore." Either the Colonel once owned the house and gave it to Mark, along with the staff, or the Colonel and Mark are, on some strange level, the same person in this universe.
@@mirceadraculov6515 I think it's because mark sees markiplier as a character and in wkm he dies. But I can't really tie that to anything. Its merely a thought 💭
Pretty sure that's because the only character Mark plays in this one is Wilford, but in Damien he plays both Actor and Damien. So here he can just say "I" and we know which character he's talking about but with Damien he has to be more specific, since "I" could mean both Damien and Actor.
2:11:31 he sees Amy's name in the credits and just gushes over it. he sounds like a kid with a crush. that's adorable and i love it and i love them. Amyplier 5ever
Well there's a theory going on that the Wilford that Abe is interrogating is actually Darkiplier disguising as Wilford, which would explain the teleporting, being in Abe's head, holding the bullet in his finger, and finally when he glitched a little during a scene when Abe was yelling at "Wilford". The real Wilford Warfstache can be seen behind Abe back in the dance club.
I'm at 1:38:08, and I'd like to very simply put what I thought Warfstache was. He's not omnipotent. He has no idea what's going on, and he doesn't control how he does anything. Their reality is fragmented, but in both their minds and the fabric of it, it draws up corrections to streamline their reality, to make it... real. Warfstache exists outside those corrections. At first, he didn't get it. Then he noticed the only pattern: the lack of one, specifically. Nothing made sense. Nothing will, either. So he just... goes with it. He has no control and just accepts what's happening. And so, the fragmented reality accepts him, and he moves between fragments. In different terms that are more specific to this, however... this is all a story. It's one, big story. That's why they only know what they need to know, and not exact details. Characters like Damien, the Chef, Abe, they don't get that. They think it's real; but they only ever know what they need to know. Wilford exists outside it. He knows. But that's all he can do, is know that there's no knowing. That's why he's so okay with it. He understands that he's just a character, so he just goes with it, and takes it further and further on. This entire arc is about teaching Abe that there's no understanding it because there's nothing else to understand.
I understood Warfstache's power the first time I watched it. I call it "Meta Mindset". He can't comprehend, or chooses not to care about, the minute details within the story being told (such as time, place, and death) so, the story can't hold him to those concepts. The story says he should be tied up in that chair, but because Warfstache isn't mentally tied to the rules of narrative it has no power over him in random occurrences.
No masks? This is so cool! In "A Date With Markiplier", The real "Mark" was just Tyler with a mask on before "you" grabbed the gun to shoot them. For all intents and purposes, Tyler wasn't there. Mark was in two different places. Mark and Dark. So everyone wearing the masks in that last scene here... the Detective sees his face _everywhere._ Warfstache is _everywhere!_ We see a snippet in the beginning when Warstache appears behind the Detective in the party prior to Wilford getting tasered. He is everywhere. Yet he is in only one place. This world doesn't make sense. Nothing makes sense! This is genius.
Mark, you are just TOO interesting. I intended to watch this video while I was writing a book I was working on just to have something to listen to that wasn’t music. I couldn’t take my eyes off the screen the whole time.
Fun Fact: I watched this stream when it was live 3 years ago. It came up in my queue while I was cleaning around my apartment so I was listening. Right before the first time the mic goes out, I dropped my phone. I thought there was something wrong with my phone, depsite having seen this exact video before, because of the sudden silence lol
The idea of "The viewer is a character" at 1:16:43 makes SO much sense after A Heist with Markiplier and now In Space with Markiplier came out. The interactive movie format is something he clearly has been working on for years now!
Here's something that I've just realized. Make of it what you will. At around 1:31:50, when Mark is talking about how Warfstache teleports, I realized something. The detective doesn't know he's gone and Warfstache hasn't moved until WE SEE HIM in front of the corkboard. Mark put MASSIVE emphasis on how the viewer is a character. ...or maybe I'm too busy looking into the minutia of it. After all, nothing makes sense. It isn't really supposed to, is it?
i was thinking about that, but i think it’s all based around how it’s a series, and i think that ties into how the viewer is still a character. and because of this, it kinda revolves around how it was a show. but, yes, it doesn’t make sense. it’s not supposed to. and i love it
How I've always interpreted it is that Wilford is aware of the fact he's not real and is just a character inside a video. He has fourth wall awareness,I think he's not teleporting I think he's literally just walking around however because he's out of camera frame to us it looks like he's teleporting. The detective is a part of the video he doesn't have fourth wall awareness, because of this he is bound by the rules of the camera meaning Wilford could walk right around him but because the detective is bound to the video because we didn't see him move and the camera didn't see him move to us it looks like he teleports. Early in the video when wilford's in the club and the detective has him at gunpoint you see Wilford in the background,I think he literally just walked around and once he stepped into frame and realized he was back on camera he backed out a frame realizing he was in the wrong place.
"What masks? I don't see any masks" Oh my god, I just realized, Abe doesn't see masks. Abe sees a bunch of Warfstache's around the room which is absolutely terrifying.
Okay but what if Abe doesn't see the masks as well. What if he doesn't see a bunch of Warfstaches' around the room. What if is is actually something that only the viewer can see? Remember the viewer is a character in the plot as well.
@@maddiebear6440 True but, if you look close you can see he sees it aswell and is slightly weirded out, but then accepts this madness going on. He took Warfstaches advice.
You know at the end when he says to remember that the viewer is part of this, when wilford is giving his ramble about how Abe is looking too much into the details of it, I think this is actually wilford talking to the audience saying that you can’t look into it now because that would just cause more problems. I think this because Abe isn’t in frame and wilford is talking directly to the camera, witch in who killed markiplier was supposed to be *you* .
When Mark said that nobody is wearing a mask, I took it as a reality outlook. All of the faces looked like they were waiting for Abe's response to Warfstache's offer of fun. And when Abe decided to go along with the fun, all of the "Masks" were removed. I feel like if Abe decided to shoot, the faces would have changed. Just like reality would have changed. But that's just my take on the situation. ☺
I think they wanted everyone to actually be him, but the budget couldn’t afford that so instead it’s just paper masks but the point is, is that they are all him
@@lythist1849 I think it is all apart of the lore of Markiplier's channel (see the Game Theorists) and that the masks are only visible to us, the viewers. But if your point is real, and he had to make them to save money wouldn't he just tell us?
I just love how everyone is like "Oh, there's this detail here, and that detail there, what could it mean? Is it important?" while Mark is just like "I thought it was really funny to put it there"
(1:38:00) I've always believed that Warfstache's power is that he's lost his grip on reality to the point where reality no longer affects him. Bullets hurt you? Nope. Teleportation? Why not. Listening in on other's internal monologues? Well, they can hear it so why shouldn't I be able to, that kind of thing.
HELLO, I AM FROM THE FUTURE Everyone can hear everyone’s inner monologues, in ISWM part 1 everyone can hear each others monologues. And in Who killed Markiplier chapter 2 it’s a joke made that you could hear the Detectives inner monologues (as well as ISWM 2 when both Noir Mark and the Detective heard each others monologues)
I just realized that when Wilford says that Celine would carve his heart out if she saw him, it's the same as when Mark (The Actor) says that Celine would carve his heart out and feed it to him if she saw him.
Its interesting that the way Warfstache deals with his reality is so... _Desirable._ Obviously the stuff about death not being final and all that isn't terribly relatable, but the fact that things are happening all around you that dont logically make sense a lot of the time, and how horrible and dark the world can be. How easy it is to lose yourself in it all, or retreat into your own head to not _have_ to deal with it... I like that Will seems to have learned how to just... Live in the moment, you know?
I am so fascinated with the whole Warfstache and Who Killed Markiplier lore. Thank you for providing the behind the scenes information and I'm happy that I watched the whole stream. Love your work, Mark!
The seriousness leading up to “my nipnops” was everything. Just talking so technically and everything and just “And if you zoom in... you can see my nipnops...” Beautiful.
When he said "no ones wearing masks" chills went down my spine. Theres something he's not telling us. There is more to Warfstache He's not who he says he is.
Warfstache is basically a book character who knows he's in a book. He knows that things happen and will happen and haven't ever happened although it implied, like a blackboard covered in writing a book, you can imagine it but can't read it or understand it but the detective sees it, he just doesn't understand it. He's part of a machine without knowing how it works or if it's a machine but just knows to do something, without knowing how it happens. This is a story and he's a part which shouldn't have been questioned, but warfstache asked the question and completely unravelled his life. His life is a set piece with a new found consciousness, like a blackboard in a book without any detail specifically described.
When I first watched "Wilford 'MOTHERLOVING' Warfstache" my heart broke for Abe when he started coming to the realization that he didn't know the details of "the 3 years" - and the final break as to "WHEN" it was. Because even with all of the clues and hints of what this could've been before it, seeing Abe realize that He Doesn't Know actually broke me. He is such a great actor.
When he says that he doesn't see any masks, I'm pretty sure he means that all of the people wearing "masks" are actually other Warfstaches from other realities or time frames and they've all converged into this one place... The masks are their actual faces- they are Warfstache.
I took it as that there’s a piece in all of us. We all have that little piece that just says “fuck it, why not? Let’s go! Do it! Do everything!” But it’s always overpowered by the detective that wants the concrete logical answer even though it might not exist. We’re all a little bit of the ‘stache. It’s in all of us. Edit: obviously this was my thoughts before this video
The more i look at this the more i remember what mark said in the wkm livestream: if it isn't on the screen it doesn't exist. Warfstach seems to drift in and out of that world. Between what is/will/was and what might. DRIFT being the key word. When he tries to be serious he becomes grounded, as he was careful when he was being serious. But when he doesn't fret over "the minutia of it" he drifts back and forth, dropping in when needed

I love how passionate Mark is about being a creator. I relate so much to getting all worked up and excited about future possibilities, so seeing him so happy is really heart-warming. Here's to hoping everything is at its best
Gotta love Warfstache asking “Did we date at some point?” Implying he’s not confused by dating Abe, but rather not remembering it and wanting to ask to be polite 😂 and to explain the monologue Thank you Mark
mark, you and mick are incredible actors but honestly mick's performance was absolutely incredible. i want to see him on the big screen someday, with you making him look classy and badass behind the scenes.
I think I kind of get it, so basically Wilford, and everyone else, are in a world/universe thing where everyone has a role, Mick is the detective, but he only knows what he needs to know, and that is that he's been hunting the colonel, Warfstache, and that he's been doing it for "years", but that's all he knows, nothing about how long he's been doing it exactly, where Warfstache has been, not even the people who helped him. Mark even says that the detective only knows what he needs to know as his role, and that's how everyone is, which explains why Warfstache didn't know him at the disco, because he didn't need to, but he did know him once he put his drink down in the interrogation room, he broke out of his role, becoming his own person. And Wilford didn't want the detective to go back to being, well, the detective, So he helped him realize that he wasn't crazy, but the world is crazy, eg the bullet through the heart scene, after stopping Mick from falling back into his role, they go back to the disco, literally reversing what happened, and just have fun, not obeying the worlds rules. That's how I see it anyway
Markiplier: *has 21million+ subscribers* Also Markiplier: *wants to text his fans and doubts many will be interested* -Time Passes- Markiplier Now: *has seriously underestimated the power of his Fandom despite fans repeatedly breaking web pages meant for donations, merchandise, etc* Fanbase: WE WANT MARKIPLIER! *floodgates of hell have opened, this is the apocalypse*
Yeah, this clinches it. When I first watched Wilford 'MOTHERLOVING' Warfstache, I got the same feeling I got when watching the Amy Pond/River Song era of Doctor Who. I absolutely LOVED it, but couldn't really explain why. I felt like something big was happening, and that I had been given the information that I needed to figure it out, but my brain wasn't making the connection. I craved more of it. Mark's video gave me that same feeling. I know I'm late to the game, but I cannot tell you how thrilling it is knowing that me being a member is helping (in a very small way, I know) make projects like these possible. I adored Heist, it was a freaking blast. Unus Annus is a journey I'm so glad to be on. I very much appreciate the work Mark puts into these projects and his determination to continue to push himself to do bigger and better things. It takes courage to put yourself out there, and take the kind of chances that Mark takes. Glad I'm along for the ride, (especially when it gets weird 😉) Much Love
I have a theory! the mic's constant muting whenever Mark gets really passionate isn't the mic being muted, mark is being muted! This is because Darkiplier is possessing mark and muting him so that we can't hear him talk about Wilford worfstache so that he can keep his secret that mark is secretly worfstache, because Dark is not ready for us to know yet.
@@larrypoppins6273 No it's just Mark would mute the mic so we could hear the video better and then sometimes he forgot to turn it back on before talking or he would think he hit it when really he didn't.
So Warfstache is watching and learning about Abe, to see what Abe knows. Mark, make sure you give yourself credit for your ability to act. That entire scene, from when Warfstache asks Abe how close he came to him to where Abe is shot, is where you shine. Warfstache's curiosity comes through clearly. Your eyes are SO expressive, and thank god for that, because you're acting through your hair and that over-sized mustache. Your body movements also make up for the fact we can't see your face. You say Mick owned the scene. There were two people in that scene, and your skill should be applauded, too. *claps*
He read the question: “what are the masks?” True. However, notice that he IMMEDIATELY went to the scene with the masks. He didn’t ask for specification. He is making it very clear to us that he does in fact see the masks. This is a clue. However, I don’t know how to solve it, and given the general meaning of this video, Eh. Role with it.
Its the same thing as Markiplier in Dark and Mark. A mask is just the person who it represents. Its just wilford warfstache with other wilford warfstaches in the same room
@@metallyill697 2:12:55 I can't remember where I saw this fan theory, but it's by far my favorite interpretation of the masks! In A Date With Markiplier, when Mark had to fight with Dark and they obvious couldn't put both of them in close combat at the same time, they made a joke out of it and put Tyler in a mask. The theory is that the masks in Warfstache are that same concept, just done more artistically, and it implies that, as time jumps around, all the various Warfstaches from all timelines and all sketches and all moments in his twisted story so far have congregated here to support Abe in his crucial moment. Ugh, I love that interpretation!
The Bagel I commented this already but how about the Warfstache Cinematic Universe? Also sorry if I offended you not trying. You are just trying spread word of the WCU
Hey for people who are theorists I noticed that (obviously) Warfstache had an afro in this. When Mark was playing Doki Doki Literature Club, he put little poems in the description. At first, I thought those were in the view of Mark in Who Killed Markiplier. But the first one mentions an afro. So it's Warfstache, then? I don't know. I'm not a theorist, but I hope this helped someone who's good at theorizing :) Go check out the poems. Edit: OKAY I decided to put in EVERY SINGLE poem Mark made in DDLC so HERE: (+Scribbles already put the first one it, and the first poem's last line is similar to the last line of this video) 2nd poem: What did I do wrong Who put me here I've waited so long Where is the Seer I can't breathe I can't see I can't feel I can't sleep I need to wake up I must find my way trhough Am I even myself Or Am I you 3rd poem: There once was a man named Mark Whose heart had lost its Spark He paid the Toll And gave up his Soul And now he lives in the Dark 4th poem: Love.. What a simple thing The sweetest poison A blood-stained ring A tender kiss A bitter sting Eternal bliss A lonely king How much of this is even real? This pain This love This somber wheel An endless turn of snake and tail And endless storm, malignant gale Yet here I sit upon my throne My only truth... I am alone 5th poem: It's not your fault False from the start They broke your heart Life torn apart It's not your fault... A mind you'll break A soul you'll shake A life you'll take It's not your fault... Vengeance at last Old friends aghast All foes outclassed Your heart downcast Your guilt steadfast Trapped in the past It's all your fault.. And the 5th poem just repeats "don't trust the seer don't trust the seer don't trust the seer" A LOT of times
Once upon a time I had an afro Back then I had a long way to go Before I'd learn the world's cruel tricks Before I'd learn it's full of pricks But lo and behold a beautiful being Her hair is lovely and her name's Celine Doesn't matter that she's already comitted Love ensures all crimes acquitted But now I'm here all by myself My friends departed My mind in tatters I'm tired of rhymes Let's have some fun Its fits with the new Warfstache video perfectly

He’s not a detective. He’s The Detective, the character troupe. Wilford is a trope too but the story broke, and Wilfred is acting out side of the story, but Abe is still following the story.
1:39:15 When I first watched the Warfstache video and saw his performance I was completely stunned. Still am. Some big name actors can't even pull off being angry as well as he did.
I love how Mark implemented the idea of Wilford in the background perfectly with In Space with Markiplier, it explains so much, especially the scene with Wilford in A Heist with Markiplier to the two.
So Wilford Warfstach unwillingly and unknowingly undergoes seemingly regular temporal shifts, and the balance that that breaks tends to bleed into continuum inconsistencies. But for that to be true means the same must apply to Abe, who has yet to realize what is happening around him, hence the gaps in memory, or evidence of events that have yet to pass. This event can almost act as a nexus that brings many of these anomalies together, as Warfstach feeds enough knowledge of the uncontrollable situation to catch and up enough to prevent him from going insane. Like an over the top reflection of how we may not understand what is happening around us, but we spend so much time on the details of what we think we know that we miss the broader picture of what is, whether that bigger picture can be understood by present day us or not. Something like that, Markiplier?
I like how the lore is Actor Mark created a pocket dimension or reality, or can bend reality to constantly tell stories using the people who died in The House.
So reality is what you perceive. The detective views himself as being on this gritty black and white noire case for years even if it's only been a short amount of time. Warfstache is confused by his reality therefor reality is confusing back to him, but he DOES know that he shouldn't die before explaining to the detective that reality is convoluted therefor he just shrugs off being shot. The combination of unsaturated colors but not quite black and white is the two realities converging, but obviously Warfstache's takes the lead as the dominant version. It could also explain why Warfstache remembers experiencing the events of a book - Oftentimes people read books that they like and then imagine themselves in the same situation. Idk, just my guess.
Also when warfstash teleports, he thinks that he is supposed to be There Also in who killed markiplier, when they teleport from the 2. Floor to the first, it’s becouse they think that they are in the first floor
This takes place...DIRECTLY AFTER WKM FOR ABE....exactly....this is the first thing we've SEEN HIM IN SINCE....as Mark has said, there's been NO CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT.
JamesCPotter13 exactly. That’s what I expected Abe to say was the last encounter he’d had with Warfstache before now. I was confused when he didn’t know so I went to the comment section after watching the first time. Big mistake; that was conspiracy theory central.
JamesCPotter13 This is the 1st comment that makes sense since he said that the viewer is also a character! There wasn’t any character development for THEM or for US.
Just going to point out "What about the mask" Mark: "what mask i dont see any mask *clicks frame WHERE YOU SEE MASK* i dont know what your talking about"
THIS. I was waiting for that part all stream, because those masks, are exactly like the “masks” that “Mark” told us all to wear during the big tumblr thing. So I wanted to here him finally talk about it.... AND THEN HE IGNORED IT AGAIN. Honestly the masks and the tumblr incident are still the BIGGEST mystery on his channel, with clues about it sprinkled all over the place. Just when I think maybe he’s put it to the side for good, or that he’s forgotten it, things like THIS happen. I love this mystery though, it’s like bringing a piece of this mad world into OUR world, and I love it
Thank you! I think this means that even while showing us the video, Mark is playing "Markiplier" and we are still in "The Viewer's" perspective. We all can see the masks because we are the character "The Viewer".

@@InfamousFey that's really where it all began. Who knew where it would go?

TheAwesomeGodMaster not just tiny, there’s real sorrow in his face, and it’s heart breaking
Thats true, Mark always seems to sell himself short, he really needs to give himself more credit

Can we nominate Wilford Motherlovin' Warfstache for an oscar for best short film?
Please.
No no no
It’s Wilford ‘MOTHERLOVING’ Warfstache.
Agh, you right.
I most definately agree, let's make that happen
Yes, and then nominate Damien for best animated short film.
The actor who played the detective did a PHENOMENAL job. I hope his career takes off.
Shihon42 mickkk!!!
Shihon42 Ricepirate is already pretty big
Good, he deserves it.
Shihon42 He's been around longer than Markiplier lol, he's a newgrounds animator.
That would explain why I've never heard of him.
something I noticed after watching Damien is that Markiplier doesn't refer to anyone as 'I' except for Wilfred. Mark is referred to as 'the Actor', Damien is Damien/Darkiplier, but only with Wilfred has he used 'I' to talk about the character.
I guess maybe because Wilford is the "oldest" character. Mark has played him for like 8 years
That actually ties back to Who Killed Markiplier where the Colonel tells the Detective "I won't be called a murderer in my own house!" Right after the chef gets in his face saying "we don't work for you anymore." Either the Colonel once owned the house and gave it to Mark, along with the staff, or the Colonel and Mark are, on some strange level, the same person in this universe.
So here he can just say "I" and we know which character he's talking about but with Damien he has to be more specific, since "I" could mean both Damien and Actor.

jordan buanno .

I think this is the case after the detective was killed and darkiplier killed the colonel and they both ended up in the upside down
Your e planning this made it easier to understand! Thank you!!
i adore this theory
the fact that Mark pretty much confirms this in the Damien breakdown is amazing-
Acceptance. The final stage of grief.
That's a brilliant way of putting it
Yeah I agree, this reality is a world that doesn’t make sense, just like Wilford and Mark were saying

I think you are onto something...
Keep thinking about it! It sounds right!
I would love a deeper description
i was thinking about that, but i think it’s all based around how it’s a series, and i think that ties into how the viewer is still a character. and because of this, it kinda revolves around how it was a show. but, yes, it doesn’t make sense. it’s not supposed to. and i love it
How I've always interpreted it is that Wilford is aware of the fact he's not real and is just a character inside a video.

You know at the end when he says to remember that the viewer is part of this, when wilford is giving his ramble about how Abe is looking too much into the details of it, I think this is actually wilford talking to the audience saying that you can’t look into it now because that would just cause more problems. And when Abe decided to go along with the fun, all of the "Masks" were removed. I feel like if Abe decided to shoot, the faces would have changed. Just like reality would have changed.

Listening in on other's internal monologues? Well, they can hear it so why shouldn't I be able to, that kind of thing.
HELLO, I AM FROM THE FUTURE
Everyone can hear everyone’s inner monologues, in ISWM part 1 everyone can hear each others monologues.
_Desirable._
Obviously the stuff about death not being final and all that isn't terribly relatable, but the fact that things are happening all around you that dont logically make sense a lot of the time, and how horrible and dark the world can be.
Warfstache is Mark's equivalent of Deadpool
When I first watched "Wilford 'MOTHERLOVING' Warfstache" my heart broke for Abe when he started coming to the realization that he didn't know the details of "the 3 years" - and the final break as to "WHEN" it was. When he says that he doesn't see any masks, I'm pretty sure he means that all of the people wearing "masks" are actually other Warfstaches from other realities or time frames and they've all converged into this one place... The masks are their actual faces- they are Warfstache.

Oh snap. Wow that's interesting.
But when he doesn't fret over "the minutia of it" he drifts back and forth, dropping in when needed

mark, you and mick are incredible actors but honestly mick's performance was absolutely incredible. i want to see him on the big screen someday, with you making him look classy and badass behind the scenes.
I think I kind of get it, so basically
Wilford, and everyone else, are in a world/universe thing where everyone has a role, Mick is the detective, but he only knows what he needs to know, and that is that he's been hunting the colonel, Warfstache, and that he's been doing it for "years", but that's all he knows, nothing about how long he's been doing it exactly, where Warfstache has been, not even the people who helped him.
I think you summarized this very well 👏👏

I absolutely LOVED it, but couldn't really explain why. I felt like something big was happening, and that I had been given the information that I needed to figure it out, but my brain wasn't making the connection. I craved more of it. I think the biggest mystery is who keeps muting Mark's mic?

I have a theory! the mic's constant muting whenever Mark gets really passionate isn't the mic being muted, mark is being muted! This is because Darkiplier is possessing mark and muting him so that we can't hear him talk about Wilford worfstache so that he can keep his secret that mark is secretly worfstache, because Dark is not ready for us to know yet.

You say Mick owned the scene. There were two people in that scene, and your skill should be applauded, too. *claps*
27:03 I don't think he planned for the colonel in the picture to be looking at the knife either, but it's kinda funny.
He read the question: “what are the masks?” True.
However, notice that he IMMEDIATELY went to the scene with the masks. He didn’t ask for specification. He is making it very clear to us that he does in fact see the masks. This is a clue. However, I don’t know how to solve it, and given the general meaning of this video,
Eh. Role with it.
Its the same thing as Markiplier in Dark and Mark. A mask is just the person who it represents. Its just wilford warfstache with other wilford warfstaches in the same room
When?
@@metallyill697 2:12:55
I can't remember where I saw this fan theory, but it's by far my favorite interpretation of the masks!
Yeah, what masks ?
@@angrybadger121 cuz nothing makes sense. And that's the beauty of it all.
Mark: “I love editing”
Lixian: ThEn wHy DonT yOu Do It YoUrSelF
I mean, he could, but, and mark said this himself, Lixian does it better than what mark could ever do. And Lixian enjoys editing marks videos

Mark: (in warfstache's voice) you're too focused on the bla bla bla
Me: oh my gid he did the voiceeee
Mark needs an Oscar. Mark needs an award. Mark needs every damn award. And so does Mick!!
They are so damn talented
I genuinely love how Warfstache's ability is that he is so oblivious that he can manipulate space and time, simply by accident.
Can we please call these Warfstache/Detective and Darkiplier stories the MCU? (Markiplier Cinematic Universe)
The Bagel mcu is taken, how about DMCU dead mark cinematic universe
The Bagel I commented this already but how about the Warfstache Cinematic Universe? Also sorry if I offended you not trying. You are just trying spread word of the WCU
I like DMCU for a different reason... The Dark Mark Cinematic Universe. :D
@@MelissaTreglia Oh damn this is better than everything
I've been calling it the MCU, too, lol
Hey for people who are theorists I noticed that (obviously) Warfstache had an afro in this. When Mark was playing Doki Doki Literature Club, he put little poems in the description. At first, I thought those were in the view of Mark in Who Killed Markiplier. But the first one mentions an afro. So it's Warfstache, then? I don't know. I'm not a theorist, but I hope this helped someone who's good at theorizing :) Go check out the poems.
Edit: OKAY I decided to put in EVERY SINGLE poem Mark made in DDLC so HERE: (+Scribbles already put the first one it, and the first poem's last line is similar to the last line of this video)
2nd poem:
What did I do wrong
Who put me here
I've waited so long
Where is the Seer
I can't breathe
I can't see
I can't feel
I can't sleep
I need to wake up
I must find my way trhough
Am I even myself
Or Am I you
3rd poem:
There once was a man named Mark
Whose heart had lost its Spark
He paid the Toll
And gave up his Soul
And now he lives in the Dark
4th poem:
Love..
What a simple thing
The sweetest poison
A blood-stained ring
A tender kiss
A bitter sting
Eternal bliss
A lonely king
How much of this is even real?
This pain
This love
This somber wheel
An endless turn of snake and tail
And endless storm, malignant gale
Yet here I sit upon my throne
My only truth... I am alone
5th poem:
It's not your fault
False from the start
They broke your heart
Life torn apart
It's not your fault...
A mind you'll break
A soul you'll shake
A life you'll take
It's not your fault...
Vengeance at last
Old friends aghast
All foes outclassed
Your heart downcast
Your guilt steadfast
Trapped in the past
It's all your fault..
And the 5th poem just repeats "don't trust the seer don't trust the seer don't trust the seer" A LOT of times
The Fiadochi Aardvark YOU ARE RIGHT! I am not a theorist but the Doki Doki poems always intrigued me and I never understood the afro line.
Well, warfstache wasn’t original planned to have an Afro
perhaps each poem is by a different markiplier ego
OH YEAH!!!!
Once upon a time I had an afro
Back then I had a long way to go
Before I'd learn the world's cruel tricks
Before I'd learn it's full of pricks
But lo and behold a beautiful being
Her hair is lovely and her name's Celine
Doesn't matter that she's already comitted
Love ensures all crimes acquitted
But now I'm here all by myself
My friends departed
My mind in tatters
I'm tired of rhymes
Let's have some fun
Its fits with the new Warfstache video perfectly
i just wanted to say that mark looks like what adult Harry Potter should have looked like

So this means that who killed markiplier is all a prequel before “The warfstache affair” by cyndago...damn
Remember in a Date With Markiplier, where there was the huge floating Warfstache head that I BELIEVE led to the Chica Ending?
“Almost movie quality thing” Markiplier my boi, this is better than most movies
is as his mustache turns more pink showing how crazy he is becoming
*H E I S N O T C R A Z Y*
It's the Cornell turning into Willfred Warfstache!
Same with the straps on his clothes
His mustache is just like rings on a tree. You'll know where he is by looking at his mad 'stache.
his mustach is not changing
ITS JUST THE EDITING
He’s not a detective. He’s The Detective, the character troupe. Wilford is a trope too but the story broke, and Wilfred is acting out side of the story, but Abe is still following the story.
Honestly, when the detective was trying to say the closest encounter, to me, that was extremely sad.
Something like that, Markiplier?
when mark puts so much expression into his words and his mic is muted
I like how the lore is
Actor Mark created a pocket dimension or reality, or can bend reality to constantly tell stories using the people who died in The House.
His hardcore passion just warms my entire heart oh my GOD I’m so happy he likes making it as much or easily more than we like watching it!!!
OK---
mark looks really good in those glasses.
NOTHING SEXUAL, JESUS HE JUST LOOKS NICE
laurenvdk •-• amen
He's been looking more and more Korean since late 2018.
Your a wizard Marky!
American Wilbur soot
Also when warfstash teleports, he thinks that he is supposed to be There
Also in who killed markiplier, when they teleport from the 2. Floor to the first, it’s becouse they think that they are in the first floor
1:09:41 love this scene, goes from his monologue in his black in white world to the slightly colored interruption of warfstache. Amazing
Just going to point out
"What about the mask"
Mark: "what mask i dont see any mask *clicks frame WHERE YOU SEE MASK* i dont know what your talking about"
Jd Foxtail oooof bro there’s something behind that.
SlayiX Ry ikr..
I love this mystery though, it’s like bringing a piece of this mad world into OUR world, and I love it
Clevinessence its like joining realities
And also lucky you that you can sponser
I have no money :(
Thank you! I think this means that even while showing us the video, Mark is playing "Markiplier" and we are still in "The Viewer's" perspective. We all can see the masks because we are the character "The Viewer".
*explanation of the ending*
*pauses
“amyyy😊”
*continues explaining*
I WANT THAT
