    Its heartwarming to see a family who actually cared enough to take their pets with them instead of letting them just die in the storm.

      I'd really have trouble leaving our furry kids behind. I know that some people think that those who greatly care for their "pets" are crazy, but our furry kids (and feathered kids) are more selfless and give more unconditional love than some humans I've come across in my life.

      My hotel is currently filled with pets from all the people evacuating the last few pet friendly hotels who won't charge. I can say the only negative thing right now is the fact that we're understaffed we were not ready to have a full hotel. some people were being really rude when you're trying to be understanding but they are taking out thier frustrations on us 🙄

      for the past decade i’ve maintained that the simplest step to stopping climate change & the bigger & badder storms with flooding, tornadoes & wind damage/fires/droughts/heatwaves/blizzards is to eliminate the pet industry with its isolated demands on fossil fuel use alone being worse than almost all economies in the world combined. the real choice is either you selfishly have have your stupid cat or dog or that your great grandchild will have a chance to live.

    All the best to the victims, and those you love who are dealing with this tragic hurricane. May you stay safe, and healthy, and not suffer too much damage. Be well. Protect your loved ones. It’s even more important during the 20 month pandemic. Seek shelter, and be safe while doing so. Words cannot describe what you are going through right now. We can’t even begin to imagine how hard it must be. We don’t have the answers but we hope that you stay safe out of harm’s way as much as possible. It’s something that we hope you can stay safe from. But it’s all in God’s hands. We are keeping you in our prayers. Your in our thoughts during these trying times. Praying for you. God Bless. Protect yourself, and those you love. 🙏

    • @jasminem3902
      @jasminem3902 3 роки тому +1

      Yes technically it is worse than Katrina as far as the actual storm goes. What actually made Katrina as devastating was not necessarily the storm itself but the Levees breaking allowing EXTRA water to get in that otherwise wouldn't have. And what further made Katrina bad was the lack of response and assistance in the Aftermath. But categorically this storm is said to be worse. But as long as the levees hold the Aftermath wont likely be as intense as Katrina.

The water just got restored, but I’m sure it has to be boiled before using it for anything. Expected date for electricity restoration is Sept 29. 2-3 hr long waits in line for gas to run your generator if you’re lucky enough to have one. Mildewed and moldy rubbish everywhere. phee-yuk yoo good luck building something a cat 4 hurricane won’t damage. 150 mph winds knock down brick houses. You live in Vermont and have probably never been through a hurricane so I wouldn’t expect you to understand.

      @@nitegame1478 No hurricanes here. Not stupid enough to live down south but smart enough to build a steel bunker if I needed too. The lack of motivation and intelligence in Louisiana is obvious.

      phee-yuk yoo so ignorant and hateful. learn some compassion bro. i hope you never have to live through anything like this because you wouldn’t know the first thing to do.

    People when will you all learn to stop using cheap housing products and nails to build. Use and build your home out of cement, all the Walls & Roof also install alum storm or accordion shutters and you'll make it fine then top it off with a back up generator above the flood line. its worth the time and money to get piece of mind and survive.

      Camille was the worst. Katrina wasn't no baby either. But the Galveston Texas hurricane of 1900 was the winner by far.
