  • Why Are Emerging Artists Sounding Like The New Generation Of Afrobeats Stars - Pulse Facts Only
On this episode of Facts Only, Adeayo talks about the new generation of Afrobeats stars. Who would you say is the most influential of the new generation in the Nigerian soundscape? Is it a bad thing that a lot of emerging artists are sounding like artists from the new generation?

Love this. It's not redemption E.P that had Osagie's voice. It was On A Spaceship album. Redemption E.P intro is Pree Me

The new generation are doing exactly what Jamaican new generation did to Jamaica's Dancehall. Jamaica's new artistes adulterated their Dancehall so much with Trap, Hip-hop and R&B, and killed their music. Latinos, then, took over the pure form, and became successful.
By diluting Afrobeat so much with Amapiano, hip-hop and r&b, Nigeria is basically opening the opportunity for other people to take over.

Very good analysis. I'm sure the guys you didn't mention would be angry with you. For example, who inspired Naira Marley. Also, this is debatable because the timing was very close: Tems and Ayra Starr?
