Honestly, this is an incredible introduction to RM you got yourself into here. You have no idea how his music has developed over the years. @@HailToTheMeep I actually love his first mixtape, and RPWP to me seems almost like the upgraded mature version of that album. I think the object that inspired this album is not love. I think his album is inspired by the relationship that exists between Namjoon as a person and RM public persona, the Namjoon who must reconcile what he wants with the expectations that the rest of us place on his shoulders. It's difficult to choose...
@7Flowers1Dream True. Maybe twisted or complicated, but definitely not romantic. For me, it is mainly dedicated to the general public, to people who wants to take advantage of their achievements and the need to find himself because he got lost trying to meet the expectations that were placed on his shoulders.
thank you for your honest reaction! really appreciate it. 😊 about the production part, it's quite tricky cause usually when bts (group or solo) releases album the credits for production and composition & lyrics are mentioned separately but in this album, for 9 out of 11 tracks, everyone is credited under "produced by". and RM has mentioned that they held a song camp for this album inviting various songwriters and producers (mostly from k-hiphop and k-alt/indie background). so i guess there must have been some reason for them to credit this way. regardless, RM was for sure involved in the composition and lyrics...that's his forte.
I love that you reacted to RM's album. It is more of a alternative sound, so many people are probably not going to like it, but i love that you choose to appreciate the art
If you liked this, you need to listen to his other projects too: mono and indigo. mono, indigo and rpwp are all soo good, but also different. the bts members are all kinda different in their music and they all usually write and produce too, especially the 3 rappers. this diversity is already seen in the bts albums because for each album they did something new and all 7 add something to it (and they have solos on the bts albums too), but in their solo work, ofc they take this to another level.
The whole album is SO GOOD! The amount of times I got the goosebumps while listening to it.. The lyrics and the production go insane 🔥🔥 It blew my expectations and they were already so high. I'm so proud of Namjoon 😭💜 RPWP ate so bad. Literally the album of the year and the album of my fcking life bc hello?? It's incredible. You should definitely check out his other solo songs. He has 2 mixtapes: 'RM' and 'Mono' And 2 albums: Indigo and this new one. Namjoon said that he lived a dynamic live and that when he became friend with an artist, that person mentioned how contradicting his personality is, that's how the beginning of this whole project started. Jimin (a BTS member) mentioned that in Indigo he felt that Namjoon still had something else buried and that everything came out in this album. And he's so right! I totally feel that in RPWP the explosion of freedom, conflicted emotions and inner thoughts are more noticeable. Namjoon portrayed that contradictory self really well. It felt like a story line but at the same time full of ups and downs and unexpected changes.
when he hears all his albums is gonna be a trip... like his lyrics and quality are consistent AF but the style and genres???? BOY U ARE NOT READYYYYYYYYY
Thank you so much for your reaction. I'm one of those people who knows nothing about music production and heard chaos in the songs. On first listen I wanted to love it but couldn't because I was so lost. Your explanation helped me to understand the reasons why he chose to put this album/songs together the way he did and now I can appreciate his genius. Thanks
Furthermore I think the relationship he is talking about is ARMY. And I am so happy that despite all of his personal struggles, he wants to continue to be involved with ARMY. 2025 can't come quick enough.
Bruh the lyrics and production analysis was spot on! Also the way you kept talking about his attitude and swag, I felt that so much, he has so much charisma and confidence in his talent its a beauty to behold. Absolutely love this review ❤
Love this reaction. In a video released the other day, Joon mentioned that he intentionally made the album in a way that the listeners will feel uneasy. The arrangements of the tracks and the layers of music, tone, rhythm, instruments go 📈📉📈📉📈📉📈. It signifies how one feels when they’re lost, the anxiety and the feeling of being out of place in a situation, in a society, in a relationship which is the central theme of the album. Isn’t he a freaking genius?
I loved hearing your thoughts on this. Its a very interesting perspective. Because you came into this clean without knowledge of his previous projects like mono and indigo. RM did a little video with jimin called minimoni where he discusses the album. You can check it out in your time. But do check out mono and indigo, they are so different from this. And if you want you can also check out the rest of the debut albums of members of bts and be shocked at how different all 7 of them are.
Really appreciated the thorough review and very spot on, i love the way you can grasp the spirit/ energy of each of the tracks! I wish i was in the studio every step of the way, the instrumentation is insane, so rich and organic, raw! It just transpires
usually i have seen people react to joon's albums from his first mixtape RM to then MONO INDIGO and now RPWP but This being your first introduction to him is so interesting and i would love to see you go back !!! Loved all your insight :))) His albums always feel like a snapshot of what he was experiencing and feeling at a particular time of life so i am excited to see you go back and see how much he has grown as an artist and a human 💜
Thank you for your reaction! I enjoyed hearing your thoughts. I just wanted to let you know that yes, there is a big list on the production credit, and you know RM contributed heavily to most tracks on production. But he was the one who hand picked everyone he wanted to work with him on this album. He asked the people who artistry he felt would best contribute to this album. Even including the ones who worked on the music videos. It also says something about his reputation that people were excited to work with him when asked.
This is such a great review, Steven! I loved hearing your thoughts on the production of Domodachi; it stunned me when I first heard it, and you're right that I hear more each time I listen to it. Having said that I love ALL the tracks on this album! So creative, such a rush, so well done. I think Right Place Wrong Person is going to be a favourite for a very long time
Two of the artists from the group "Balming Tiger" worked on this album with RM. RM featured on their song "Sexy Nukim". If you like this style of production, I HIGHLY recommend checking out Balming Tiger's tracks.
I do not know how he did it. There’s so many things going on but the switch between sounds are seamless. I would say it’s intentional being made as messy, very experimental & definitely risky as an artist, it’s either hits or missed. And RM HIT. From Mono, Indigo and now RPWP, his talents shines. What an incredible artist.
I enjoyed analysis a lot, especially your little explanations of beats and music flow. For me really every song is hits different.. top 3 would be hard to choose.. it’s like a diary you gotta finish from top to bottom. I would love if you suggest similar music styles .. I got so interested in this alternative genre .. thanks to RM 😁
Thank you for giving RM your time! This album really shows his creativity and what weighed on his mind. I’m accustomed to this type of music so I’m really excited to see his versatility! Nuts, out of love, groin and heaven are my new faves.
Hey Steven, thanks for giving this album a listen. Namjoon is such a versatile artist, but people don't want to give him a chance just bcoz he has this K-pop artist label tagged onto him, but I am glad you liked it. Like suga said, If you listen to BTS without prejudice you will definitely like it.
This is his best work to date. He finally let it free, and authenticity without monitoring goes a long way. This will be the most successful commercial project for him, even though he will find success and satisfaction more with expressing himself freely. Kudos to our leader!
The storytelling is so good that you understand most of it without really knowing him and THAT, that says something about this album ! Thank you for your reaction :))
Hi, you interpreted everything right on point. Today BangtanTV posted a video of Namjoon talking to Jimin about the album and a lot of Namjoon’s explanations about the album coincide with your reaction
Mono and Indigo are VASTLY different styles and works than RPWP, but yet still spoke to what he was going through or wanted to say at the time. I feel like RPWP harkens back to his underground rapper days as Runch Randa, and the early Soundcloud releases he would put out before BTS debuted or got any solid traction. I.e. he felt able to be as creatively expressive as he wanted to be. This is hands down my favorite work of his though from a production standpoint. My favorite songs are soooo hard to pick but: Groin, Heaven, and tie between ? (Interlude) and Around the world in a day.
"Come back to me", "Groin" and "Around the world in a day" are my favorite musically but I absolute love lyrics to "Out of love". It reminds me of old RM and his first mixtape.
I found your channel thanks to this reaction and I scanned your videos and patreon and boy oh boy are you in for ride. Each member of BTS put out phenomenal music during their hiatus. RM (Namjoon) is a lyrical genius. He wanted to be a poet but fell in love with hip & hop. He is the leader for a reason. But every member is so talented and each release shows you why BTS are the powerhouse that they are. I am here for all the chapter 2 albums/eps - Jack in the Box & Hope on the Street (j-hope), Indigo (RM), Face (Jimin), D Day (Agust D aka Suga), Layover (V), and Golden (Jungkook). Based on the couple of videos I’ve watch so far, it seems you love the hip hop elements of BTS so I’m surprised your haven’t checked out more of the rap line’s solo work. For example, Rolling Stone named Suga’s D Day the best hip hop album of 2023. I think RPWP will the best one for 2024. You have yourself a new subscriber and I look forward to the deep dive. Have you even heard the cyphers yet??? Ddaeng??? Ugh??? God I wish I could hear it all again for the first again.
RM loves Jazz and if you notice in the album there are many roads such as jazz rock, afro jazz, jazz funk married with rap. This artist is a genius. Give a reaction please sometime the previous album of INDIGO. It is great.!! ! 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
Unfortunately this album is not for general public or casual listeners. This is art and not everyone knows how to appreciate art. They’re used to mainstream music. So this album will not cater to their under evolved ears. With that said, yes the views are WAY too low. Lower than I expected. Yes YT is probably deleting views, but its views on YT are way less than streams on Spotify. We need to show RM more support! Spread his album to more musicians. They’re the ones that will see the brilliance that it is 💪🏼💪🏼
You got his first mixtape from 2015 called RM. Which is a little more like RPWP in a way. It's angrier more hip-hop elements. Then he released Mono (my favourite) in 2018. Which is a really sad album. The tracks are slower, he sings and it's just ✨️Indigo was his first soloalbum that came out 2022. That's when he started to get more artsy with the music. He has a lot more genre variations in the album and it's full of impressive features. My favourite from his newest album is probably "groin" 👌

thank you for your honest reaction! really appreciate it. 😊
about the production part, it's quite tricky cause usually when bts (group or solo) releases album the credits for production and composition & lyrics are mentioned separately but in this album, for 9 out of 11 tracks, everyone is credited under "produced by". and RM has mentioned that they held a song camp for this album inviting various songwriters and producers (mostly from k-hiphop and k-alt/indie background). so i guess there must have been some reason for them to credit this way. regardless, RM was for sure involved in the composition and lyrics...that's his forte.
Yes! And also his 2015 mixtape RM, if you want - again very different but also amazing
Rap Monster is back. he got angry and created a masterpiece🔥💜
The whole album is SO GOOD! The amount of times I got the goosebumps while listening to it.. The lyrics and the production go insane 🔥🔥 It blew my expectations and they were already so high. I'm so proud of Namjoon 😭💜
RPWP ate so bad. Literally the album of the year and the album of my fcking life bc hello?? It's incredible.
You should definitely check out his other solo songs. He has 2 mixtapes: 'RM' and 'Mono'
And 2 albums: Indigo and this new one.
So glad you checked out this album! He really brought out his prowess in experimental or indie music in this album and I love it🔥
I love this album but appreciate many more things in it after watching this video.
when he hears all his albums is gonna be a trip... like his lyrics and quality are consistent AF but the style and genres????
Such a good reaction!! It was so great to see your appreciation for the production and his lyricism!!
You need to listen to indigo too 💜
Really appreciated the thorough review and very spot on, i love the way you can grasp the spirit/ energy of each of the tracks!
Loved all your insight :))) His albums always feel like a snapshot of what he was experiencing and feeling at a particular time of life so i am excited to see you go back and see how much he has grown as an artist and a human 💜
can't wait to see you hear the rest of his discography!!!
I love how Lost! has a bit of a slight comedic sound which goes great with the lyrics and the mv
Thankyou for reacting to this album! Great reaction and insights 💯 luv from Malaysia
Love your review especially your appreciation of RM's production values.
great reaction! i love your analysis and appreciation considering its your first impression of him solo. keep up the great work! much love
He's already in different league for real. Spread this masterpiece more in the West, they should wake up to this art
RM IS REALLY THE BEST THING HAPPENED TO MUSIC 🔥😭
Thank you for giving RM your time! This album really shows his creativity and what weighed on his mind. I’m accustomed to this type of music so I’m really excited to see his versatility! Nuts, out of love, groin and heaven are my new faves.
This is one is for the music nerds 😊❤
Hey Steven, thanks for giving this album a listen. Namjoon is such a versatile artist, but people don't want to give him a chance just bcoz he has this K-pop artist label tagged onto him, but I am glad you liked it. Like suga said, If you listen to BTS without prejudice you will definitely like it.
As an rm fan of 7+ years, I loved this, thank you 😌
Funny you said - to see what goes on in his head. You’ll have to check out the video of Lost. 😂
I am in awe of this album! Thank you for checking it out and giving honest feedback
You reacted so we'll .this album is just too good to be true.the instruments ,the vibe vocals and production is just so damn good
Hi, you interpreted everything right on point. Today BangtanTV posted a video of Namjoon talking to Jimin about the album and a lot of Namjoon’s explanations about the album coincide with your reaction
This is an excellent commentary. I love how you broke it down and translated your interpretation. I didn’t catch a lot of it. THANK YOU 💜
Nice reaction. His album is so good
Mono and Indigo are VASTLY different styles and works than RPWP, but yet still spoke to what he was going through or wanted to say at the time.
This entire album is an eargasm.
PLEASE REACT RM INDIGO ALBUM 💚💚💚
ok i’ll do it next :)
@@StevenInStereo 😊 thank u!!!
RM did it again! Right place wrong person is an amazing album!
A very versatile artist !
i think i like nuts and around the world in a day the most
"Come back to me", "Groin" and "Around the world in a day" are my favorite musically but I absolute love lyrics to "Out of love". It reminds me of old RM and his first mixtape.
OMG ME TOO!!! they're my top 2!
Nuts is my favorite and I’m still deciding after that, it’s so hard to choose 😂
Army are we streaming "RIGHT PLACE WRONG PERSON"?
YESSSSSSS 🤸♀️🤸♀️🤸♀️
absolutely 🫡💜
We must. We can't afford a huge drop in 2nd day streams.
Yes!!!
I really liked your interpretations 😊
Great reaction
Really enjoyed your reaction! Thanks. Also love RMs Indigo album. 💜
It was really wholesome seeing you appreciate and vibing to RM's new album. We are so proud of him and his artistry. Please help sharing his album.
Your reactions are always amazing, thank you so much ❤ please react to his previous projects such as Indigo ,mono❤
Love this whole album
RM loves Jazz and if you notice in the album there are many roads such as jazz rock, afro jazz, jazz funk married with rap. This artist is a genius. Give a reaction please sometime the previous album of INDIGO. It is great.!! !
💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
Got excited when I saw you reacted to RM! Love the album. Apart from both singles, Around the world is my favorite.
I'm actually obsessed with this album... I'd rarely give a 10/10 but this gets it from me!
😊namjoon deserves support from all armies...please army stream Lost...the view is so low😢
They’re the ones that will see the brilliance that it is 💪🏼💪🏼
For the production ideas : they had a song camp in february 2023 with many creators i guess that's where all of this came from
I love it so much, thanks for reacting to this amazing album from a amazing, sensitive and creative artist
I need a vinyl of this one too next to my Indigo 💜 is so damn good
I love your analysis, it's very interesting!
Thanks for reviewing this album! It's a true masterpiece!
This album is pure gold
