Hey. Thank you for this. I'm enrolled to study Bachelor of accounting (CA stream), is it the same as accounting science or is there a particular difference?
It is the same as Accounting science it's just that not all institutions call it Accounting Science some call it Bcom Accounting CA route etc but as long as it clarifies that it's CA stream then it's the same thing.
U must finish ur degree first, u Bcom in Acc qualify for BCTA then do CTA after that do your articles for 3 yrs then u will be a qualified CA all in all its 8 yrs if u finish in record time
i am doing diploma in internal auditing second year, after diploma i will do advanced diploma in accounting sciences at UNISA, can you please explain what will be the next step cause i want to be CA?
After completing your diploma, you'll havd to appy for an advanced diploma( 3rd year modules of the saica accredited degree) upon completion you will eligible to apply for CTA
I want to do Bachelor of Accounting Science. Although I haven't done commence subjects at school. I did Maths and Physics, which I excelled in Maths by 77%. I am not sure is it gonna be a wrong route because obvious maths and accounting are different subjects.
Accounting requires basic math, accounting is much more dynamic and diverse beyond equations, you will be a good fit for BAchelor in accounting sciences, i also did the science stream in my matric
Thank you, I really needed the clarity 🙏
All the best for your Matric year, give it your best

There is so much more to this yazi. Apparently Wits B com accounting doesn't take you to CA route...is this true? Or it is not accredited by SAICA
It's not accredited by SAICA.
You should do BCTA after your Bcom at Wits then you qualify for CTA ✨
Also hayybo can't I do auditing and taxation whilst doing B com accounting?
They are part of both degrees, however if you going for the CA(SA) you will, have to study for an extra year.
I'm doing bcom accounting accredited by SAICA, does that mean after my 3rd year degree I'm going to do CTA?
U must do BCTA first then CTA
can I ask how does one know it is accredited by SAICA?
What about bachelor in accountancy, offered by uj online only. Is it the same as bachelor in accounting science?
No, it is not the same
So can I become a chartered accountant even though I'm studying Bcom accounting instead of Bachelor of accounting science
Yes you can😊
Thank u
I've been accepted for Bcom Accounting at UJ......I don't quite understand, after completing my degree how can I become a CA?
