I say Paris is a lover and London is a husband. Paris is beautiful, fun, interesting, but dirty and maybe dangerous. London is safer, cleaner, offers me a good job, but can be boring sometimes. I love both cities, but I prefer to live in London.
You re spot on london is way better and tbh you can’t get bored in london with countless of activities however in paris to be honest apart from sitting in a cafe near to effiel tower there’s nothing interesting to do in addition you feel very unsafe while walking in the street
It’s so true about customer service in Serbia. They are so rude and unpleasant. I have lived in Serbia for 26 years and when I moved to the UK I was surprised how customer service is great. I was like “why are they so nice to me?” 😂
Agree. I still live in Serbia but have been a couple of times in the UK as a tourist and the people there are soooo kind and the customer service is impeccable.

We took my mum to paris for a weekend break and on our last day some guys were following us off the train to target my sister's backpack as we got off. I turned around at the right moment to alert her and they ran away. Nothing was taken luckily. Be careful!
Really enjoyed your analysis of the two cities. The fact that the people are less friendly and crime is higher in Paris was enough for me to pick London. But you made a strong case for enjoying your Paris adventures as long as they remain positive overall. Sounds like a win-win situation to me!
Spot on! You know, every country has its own charm. I’ve lived in 11 different countries and each one had its merits and it’s negatives. That’s life 🙏🏻
As a Canadian, being polite is very important to us. I think I would have a hard time living somewhere with rude customer service. It would be difficult to get used to
I lived in Paris for 5 years before moving to Montreal. Suffice to say I’d rather shovel snow for 4 months/year than be in Paris 😅

Hi Tamara! Love the video, and thanks for sharing. I was absolutely shocked when you said you feel safe in the UK. I am originally from Latvia and have been living in London for the past 7 years and I have got to say I have never felt more unsafe ever in my life. The crime that's on every corner is giving me sleepless nights and I can't wait when I will move to a different country. t was so interesting to hear such 2 different experiences and thoughts.

Tamara, I completely agree with you, I was living in France ( Lyon)a couple of years and in London as well, also in other countries... I think. that the people in London are so friendly and nice, made so many friends there.
Now I am living in Germany again and people are so rude!

I’m from Bulgaria, have lived in the UK for 10 years now and really miss the coffee culture too! It’s a European thing i think. I also had issues with my skin when i moved here and your point about the water makes so much sense! My dermatologist back home even mentioned the water as a potential issue back when I first moved.
Anyway, love your vlogs, it’s a way of travelling during lockdown and a little escape.

I just moved to London from NYC and so happy to hear this, although I can definitely understand the pros and cons having been to Paris several times. However I have to say the customer service is unsurpassed in America. You can get anything you want in the US.

I do agree with you on most of these things. Nothing compares to London. I went several times, and I’m always in awe of the atmosphere there. Paris is pretty, but that’s pretty much it. It’s overrated (I’m French btw). Also, I’ve lived in Cardiff and went to a lot of places in the UK, and the general feeling of security is out of this world compared to France. So, UK all the way!
However, French Healthcare system is excellent, and we usually don’t have to pay anything either.

I can relate to so much of what you said even though I have never lived in Paris (only visited it a few times). I live as an expat in Vienna and here people working in customer service are always grumpy and impolite and you always have to pay in cash at cafes - your comments about life in Paris reminded me of that and it really made me smile :) plus, I agree with what you said - living somewhere is not only about pros and cons but also about experiences :)
Vienna is one of the most livable cities in the world but with the grumpiest people there are.

Lots of people say that people in Paris do not represent people in France. I am not sure what is your opinion about, because you were mentioning France in general, too.
I found that people in Paris will be so happy and appreciative even if you say hi and thanks in French. I found that very nice.
Also, although not perfect I think that customer service in Serbia is so much better than it was in 2000-ish. They are kinder and usually willing to help. Sometimes I am surprised how nice they are.

As an arab who wears hijab i have been to England and Germany. And i can 100% tell you that when i was served in either countries i always got very bad service, and i speak fluent english so i didn’t have trouble communicating in England. I remember we were at a very popular and fancy restaurant in London and we asked for the bill, we payed the amount written in the bill. The server started complaining and practically yelling at us for not tipping him, but we didnt know that that was the system/norm in England cause in my country the servers’ tip is automatically calculated 15% of the amount of each bill we don’t write it down as you do in England. Will it stop me from visiting Europe? No because i know damn well that i have the right to wear whatever i want, believe in whatever religion i want, and go wherever i want.
There's a lot of non-brits in London especially as waiters and they're terrible, typically this is if they're French or Italian lol.. not even sorry for saying that but visit it often enough and you'll agree
Thank you for sharing. It’s a good insight of what to expect if ever one would move to Paris. I think that first hand experience is the best way to find out if a place is a good fit for your lifestyle...of course, it’s different during war time, etc. I have always dreamed of living in Paris or Italy someday.

I love both cities, I live in Paris and commute to London for business quite often. Please bear in mind that each situation is different, and our tolerance level may vary from one situation to the next depending on the circumstances. Insecurity is real in all big cities in the world, in certain areas. Come and visit both cities before moving and make your own opinion. All the best to you.

As an ex Brit I can tell you hands down Vancouver Canada has the best service. My Aunt and Uncle would visit every year and always commented on the service. Oh and we have glacial drinking water and the water is soft. 😎🤗🇨🇦

Agreed on British politeness and trying to solve problems (rather than create additional ones...) - I really miss this. I am not into the xtreme alcohol consumption in UK - and the negative side effects pretty much anywhere (all politeness gone then..).

As a native New Yorker I lived in London for five years and couldn’t stand customer service in London in comparison! I think it’s all relative. But sometimes in London id have to beg to get water or even pay the bill in restaurants. So interesting what we notice tho

Hi for the water I’m really not agree, it could work for you but me I live in Marseille in south of France and everytime when I go to Paris the water dry my skin soooo much my skin is terrible everytime after my Paris vacations
I haven’t lived in Paris or London, just visited a couple of times and it’s really noticeable how kind and nice English people are. French people are always upset and it’s like your annoying them with any question or even your presence!
I never understood why people think of Paris as the city of love, the dream, blah, blah... in reality it is dirty, rough, unsafe and grumpy. I 100% prefer London. And remember Tamara that It is just Paris, the rest of France is very different. X

I lived 11 years in Paris and had to run away because I couldn't bear it anymore :) long-standing love-hate relationship. The first years are great though - enjoy!!!!
I am an Asian woman and I lived in America for 17 years without any problems. People were always so nice and polite. I moved to Australia in 2015, lived there for 4 years, most of them were not friendly. I now live in India. People can be two extremes here. Either very friendly or very rude.

Ah dear Paris. From what you say not much has changed. Years ago when I was fifteen and on my first trip there, I ordered a coffee in a cafe somewhere in Saint-Germain-des-Pres. My arm was knocked my someone and the cup broke and coffee went everywhere, thankfully not on me. Well the waiter acted like I'd murdered his mother. A flurry of gesturing French invective was poured over me very little of which I understood thankfully. I was fifteen and curiously unmoved by his display. I just giggled nervously which gave fuel to his fire....lol. The most wonderful school trip and my first trip to beautiful Paris. Generally though I find France very friendly to visit. Maybe because I always try to speak French. They seem to appreciate the effort and they always like me even more when they realise I'm Irish and not English....lol.
The service in Frace is bad, also the coffee there!!

Lived in Paris for over 15 years and only 1 in London but it was so accurate for almost everything. That was very sweet and candid 💕💕💕😘
I've been living in London for 5 years and I love it, however I have had my phone snached from my hands and most of my friends got robbed at least once. But hey, no place is perfect, London is quite close tho :)

I kinda want to send your video to every single person I know. I livens in London for a year and I’m now living in Paris. During my year in London I had the worst skin and I’m pretty sure it was because of the water. But London definitely felt safer and was more clean! I kinda miss London and want to go back eventually for these reasons.

Last summer the lady in post office told me off big time as well ..I haven’t been in pots office backs haome in 20 years and I was quite confused hahaha my sister had a little laugh when she saw may confused face and lady telling me off as it is a really big deal that I’m asking for a pen 😂😂
