I've got a 2004 Silver 1.8 T Bex B6 A4 Avant S-Line Quattro with Alcan tera and leather seats, sunroof, 6 speed and I've fitted SQ5 20" wheels.. One cool thing I didn't Know was if you hold the unlock button on key fob while car is locked it opens all the windows and sunroof at once .. really cool on a hot day plus you hold the lock key button and it winds all windows up plus closes the sunroof .. love my Audi :)

1.8t is the best sounding 4 cylinder VAG engine. Exhaust does wonders. Obviously the massive mufflers from factory can make anything sound like a hair dryer.
Hey guys! I have an a4 avant in the states. 6 speed 1.8t. Now I feel awesome for having that 6th gear. If you have issues with the wipers like I do, buy some cheap 22" blades and disassemble them. Take the new rubber squeegee and install in your blades. It's pretty self explanatory. Just get one end cap off of your bosch wipers and take all the pieces off one end leaving the other cap on. Slide out rubber piece, replace with new one. Bam. $20 for 2 new wiper blades! I'm jealous of your door cards and color. But my atlas grey is pretty awesome for stealth speeding since nobody looks at you.
Yeah I 100% agree i really believe they made the sedans sad looking from the rear but all round still a great car love my car beat thing I own actually thats a lie 😂😂😂
Gas cap has notches for sitting on gas door as stated by others, as for the hand brake, I agree, it is dumb. What’s funny is I’ve owned an 8P, B6 and B7 all with this style and people always ask when I drive other cars like my Volvo or BMW why I grab the front of the P-brake with my palm instead of using it normally hahaha.
Own 2004 B6 6-speed Avant Quattro with the BEX 190bhp 20v engine. On line tuning says a reliable 275bhp possible? My insurance broker has the same car & informed me that a guy in germany has the 1.8t 20v with 1000bhp! I believe the BEX engine has a steel bottom end, making it very tough. Mine was 16.9yrs old @ May'21 when bought & 9 owners & 146k miles for £1900. Now 157k miles @ April'23. Goes great, handles nicely, fuel usage circa 30mpg & ULEZ compliant (unlike direct injection 2.0 220bhp engine in the B7). Upgraded the "end of life" exhaust to a TopGear 3.5" stainless version for £550+fitting, now sounds abit like an RS version. IMHO these cars are some of the best Audi made, without being overly complex. I deliberately bought this model as opposed to the complex 4.2 V8 S4/RS4 or even the 3.0 V6. Still got plenty of life left in it - aiming for 200k mileage & 25yrs. :- )
I owned one and I loved the car! It was comfortable and fun to drive with a killer sound system. Only downside is that the AC, radiator fan, axles, and control arms broke from 119k-155k of driving it.
The very first batch of b6 audis still had the 5 speeds from the b5s then few later started fazing them out but yeah mines a 2002 still in the 5 speed years could really do with it motor journeys are nice but revs are to high at 70 80 mph for fuel economy
@@drivewaydynamics7653 is the final drive taller in the 6 speed than the 5? I remember that mk4 VW jetta/golf 5 speeds final drive is not much different than the 6 speed in the GLI/GTI. Maybe only 100 rpm difference in final gear.
Good normal stuff really just regularly servicing the car they burn oil so it's important to do this or the engine will suffer what they call black death but should be good if you keep on top of it, look put for things like door looms they brake in the doors, suspension knock will always be the inner tie rod end if you can't find it in the bushes, rear lights stop working every now and then due to build of crop on the bulb holder there's loads of little niggly bits but nothing that's crazy that deems them a bad car overall they drive and feel really nice all around if you get one you will love it
@@drivewaydynamics7653 thanks for the reply mate. did a bit more research and hear the multitronic gearboxes are to be avoided. unfortunately the only ones I seen here (australia) are FWD and I read that only the quattros come with tiptronic gearbox's. Haven't seen a manual one yet. I had an audi a4 v6 for awhile who's climate control failed, I had to take the faceplate off and re-solder the connecting pins and it worked again. It also had a leaking heater core and passenger windows wouldn't wind down lol. But aside from that it was sooo nice to drive. Extremely stable and smooth.
I have a V6, 3.0. Your shifter is just used and abused. Mine is as stiff as... firm and tight. :) Also, mine is 5 speed, but that's why i am faster from 0-100 than a 6 gears version.
It's the bushes in the gear box it's self or a mixture of being 21 years old 🤣 I will look into see if it fits ill get back to you on that would hate to get it off you and it doesn't fit 😉
Dude, your Gearbox has a problem My sold A3 8L 1.8T and the snow plow Audi A4 B6 1.8T Quattro Sedan I keep, both have the most soft AND closed gearbox I ever had to play with I have to say that this almost looks like a troll to me, because weird points... I do have a "link" and a place to stick my gas trap... Yours is probably a damaged second hand About the exhaust far from the bumper, I bet something isn't stock, Audi is far beyond that And about the armrest, you handbrake isn't supposed to go that high, it's damaged (mine stops the car even in the first "Click")
Can do one better you can have that steering wheel I have the original s4 one to go back in previous owner changed it to not ruin that as he used it for work 😉

Yeah a few issues manly split pipes a friend of mine told me intercoolers are sometimes an issues they split down the middle too let me know how you get on as knowledge is power If you can get a smoke tester that helped me something rotten
They are quattro alloys i dont think the stud pattern is the same as the tt need to do some digging myself but the wheels that are on the car are off that car from factory 🏭
It's a vortex kit from factory and haven't got a clue why it's sunk in like that seen every one of these kits with factory exhaust like this just a stupid design it would be more audi being tight arses and not building another back box section for the kit this the time before they have the chrome tips lookalike exhaust on the bumpers but yeah the kits is a genuine factory kit 👌
Yeah is stock factory car think they only came on a few make and models there's another factory kit which looks similar but in my opinion looks worse but you cam find them from time to time check ebay or a4 breaker may have them I can get hold of one kits so let me know 😉

Do paint chrome just don’t do a bodge job again 😂 sand it properly with 800 grit that whys your paint didn’t stick also 2 layers of primer at least mate then colour then clear 👍 heat the grille with a heat gun when you spray the clear will help with orange peel 👌
Slightly affended 🙈 i did do all the right processes just the primer I negated to do which didn't help me out at all and was painted on a very hot day with 2k black just the primer I didnt do which in hine sight maybe was or wasn't the contributing factor here but I am experienced enough to know what I need to do just some time things to dont work

Also a 2k colour is a single stage paint that also won't help things on plastic. Try again with the primer or alternatively I'm not sure where your located but we are in the new forrest if you pop by I'd be happy to do it for you free of charge mate. Also might be a good idea to do a video on some detailing and do a few bits to your avant. I've got a cabbie b6 1.8t

I have the sedan and i love the hell out of it but the way the looks of the sedan compared to the avant makes the sedan look like a sausage

There’s two little notches in the gas cap itself that hooks onto the fuel door. Took me awhile to find on mine
They are a good looking car, they handle awesomely and I miss mine sooo much! 😢 Should never of sold my A4 B6 1.9 tdi Quattro Avant!!!

Mine is a six speed bex lump on 2005. Thought they all had 6 speed box

You have to notches on your gas cap that fits the gas flap
I have a black forest green one and it hides dents. Might need to check your linkage. Buy a after market blow off valve that isn't plastic.
Thank god that handbrake problem is only a problem on RHD A4s, that would really piss me off.

B8 is better since they changed the ratio of the 4x4 but even if i own a quattro , bmw rwd is still better for handling

Very reliable if treated correctly normal stuff like service regularly do the very few common faults they have but overall very good comfy cars
