This has always been my favorite childhood movie!!! I watched it so many times and yet, near the end of the opening titles, I would always brace myself for the impact of the first minutes!!!
It’s amazing that people today think one group of people had it worse than another, like everyone in history had a real bad time. Can’t even exclude royalty, they get waxed bad in every revolution lol.
lol the commenters need a history class . There were nearly a dozen crusades replete with with r*pe , pillage , starvation and slow , painful deaths . It went for nearly 200 years non stop . I doubt these commenters have experienced that in their lives lmao
My favorite movie as 12 year old child. But after multiple viewings, I noticed a cinematic error; or perhaps an editing error. When Morgan Freeman shouts, "Christian!" he goes from standing up with his hands together, back to having them apart like before, then immediately back to standing with his hands bound together. Always got a laugh from that.
@@brandrider1989So...You mean to tell me that when Azeem yells "Behind you!", then gets up to make the leather binding straps easier to cut, that he decides for brief second, while yelling, "Christian!" to simply opt to have his hands back in the previous position (for obviously some reason right?) just to be standing in the secondary position once again literally two seconds later? Yes...I know the straps were loose enough for him to stand in the first place, but this is a continuity error plain and simple. With that said...I owned this film on VHS (And later both DVD and BluRay), and this still....to this day....is my favorite Robin Hood film. 👍😊👍
I remember annoying this shit out of the family cause I would sing that shit the beginning and end it with a loud Ahhhhhh!!! 😂😂😂 . I mean I got slapped and chased over it
When I was a kid, I don't know what scene creeped me out more: the guy getting his hand cut off in this part, the first ceti eel scene in ST 2: The Wrath of Kahn, Dana getting abducted by Zuul in "Ghostbusters" or the scene in Midway (1976) when the cockpit of the fighter one of the main characters is in blows up and he's engulfed in flames.
They should have consider that in Islamic Sharia people's hands won't be cutted of for minor stealings like bread or apple. If thief stole such kind of products for surviving or feeding his family, it is considered as fault of governtment in Islam. They didn't care about folks wellbeign that some of them had to go even to stealing products. There are some creterias in order to cut off theif's hand in Islam: 1) He should steal expensive things, not cheap things like bread, apple, banana for living. Islam does not seperate person from his hand for just such worthless, cheap products. Second khalif Umar ibn Khattab didn't cut off slaves who stole their owners camel and eat it, because their owner didn't gave them meal to eat. They had to steal camel in order to survice. 2) Stolen thing must be protected well. If its' owner was careless and made oppurtunity for thief to be stolen, it is who is responsible his thing to be stolen. You must also consider cutting hands off is not only Islamic law, it was law off Old Testament. In most hollywood movies they try to portray muslims as savages, but it ok when your Bible contains it. So cutting hands off in this movie, and in Prince of Persia are not accurate. It is just failed attempt to show Islam in negative light.
Also any random soldier cannot chop off prisoner's hands according to his own discretion. If person committed crime he/she was judged by qazi (judge). According to the decision thief's hand was chopped or not chopped. Qazi checked criterias I mentioned above. Directors of movies should well learn traditions of the time and then make movies. Because once people watched such kind of scenes, they will remember them till end of their life and you are giving false impressions about Islam.

God bless my parents for not immediately shutting this off when the guy’s hand got chopped off.
I was like 10 when this came…I thought it was like the best movie ever 😂 But yeah, I was probably a little young to be watching this

Great movie. 😊👍
God I was scared of this scene when I was a kid. 😂
3:12 Did they actually have underground drainage and cast iron manhole covers in 1100 AD?
You can say they did but not so sure..
The Roman's did leave behind aqueducts and drainage. They usually did not have man hole covers. 😂
They did have sewer systems, but I doubt they had manhole covers.
"That first night in the joint, Andy Dufrain cost me two packets of cigarettes. He never made a sound"
Where’d that dude hide that ring so clean and retrieve it so fast
Same place Butch's grandfather hid his watch 😂
You don't want to know
I don't care what anyone says about this movie but the score was phenomenal. If 2:07 doesn't give you goosebumps you have no soul.
There was so much suffering with Human Life back in those centuries!
It’s still around

Actually this is from the extended version they put some scenes in that wasn't in the original theatrical release.

This is not true; there is no place in the Bible stating that states a person's gand should be cut off for stealing.
