  • Canadian Nijmegen team 2017 from 22 Wing North Bay. This video shows the journey from a marcher's eye walking 160 km in four days. Locations include France, Germany, Belgium and Netherlands. This experience and training was unforgettable and well worth the effort and commitment. Would recommend the Four Day Walk to anyone thinking of participating, a lifetime experience!

I was there in the mid-90s, twice as a Danish soldier, great experience, it was like in the video a huge party - going back to Nijmegen this summer with my wife, and I'm really looking forward to experiencing the city again.

2017 was my last year (so far). Have completed 12 Nijmegen marches with the military, and your video gives a very good impression on how the experience is. Hard, but also in so many ways rewarding and fun.
And kudos to the canadians! They have always been well trained for the 4daagse, and always bringen a very positive attitude to the event. It seems like you know the secret to marching, if you have fun doing it, it does not hurt so much :)

Indeed a very good presentation of the "package". I also was there in the 2017 Norwegian contingent, completed with the standard souverniers - medal and 18 blisters.
Now we are planning the 2019 event.

There's probably no nationality more popular in the Netherlands than Canadians. They liberated most of the country. Not Nijmegen though, that was part of the Market Garden Plan. If you've heard of A Bridge Too Far, this was the bridge before that. The one they didn't get is in Arnhem to the North. So British paratroopers and American ground troops here. Americans crossed the river with small boats and captured the bridges (one railway and one car bridge) from the other side.

Good day, the 4 days are all in and around Nijmegen. Each day participants start and end in the same location however each day is a different route. Hope this helps ;)

    Hi Phil!! Great Video
I am PO2 Brunelle from the Donnacona team in montreal. We are doing a video from the trip as well and i was wondering lf you would mind if i use some of your footage for our video. I would use the more generic stuff. Like Ceremonie at the beginning and footage during the march! Its great footage and of very good quality.
Thank you for letting me know
