Great video. It's great to see people going low (tyre pressures) and slow, caring for the track. The dunes are bumpy due to people going too fast with high pressure. Mates and I completed the CSR last year, and we shall be doing it again next year. Remember, low, slow, and Enjoy the scenery.
Thank you Dave! I'm surprised that people can struggle on the track, I guess varying conditions could make it more challenging, however for us it was very easy. I must say I love a good hill climb challenge when it presents itself though!
@WegonExplore , I blame the content makers who fly to make things dramatic, spinning tyres, getting bogged to get views. The problem is, the people are learning from them and think this is normal. One of the larger channels is the biggest culprit. Simple fact if you drive a over weighted vehicle fast over ruff ground, things are going pear-shaped. Safe travels
Yes I can imagine there is a large element of dramatising. And cant agree more about the speed, it's most definitely a massive contributing factor. As soon as you lose enough weight on the tyres from hitting a bump too hard, the tyres spin. Plus exactly like you say, it's a recipe for destroying your car!
Anything other than road tyres. We only had one puncture for the whole trip and that was on the Ram, which had standard road tyres. I use Maxxis Razr MT which are great, two other cars had Maxxis Razr AT which are also highly recommended.

I would also like to do the CSR again, the experience was more incredible than I could've imagined
