Looking back on this chapter of OTH it seems so ridiculous that they were all suppose to be 22. Not only did the guys look like full grown men, (I'm 22 and I know that my male peers don't look anything like Chad, Austin and James circa s6) but it's unrealistic that Brooke could be a teenager's mother figure. An older sister figure yeah, but not a mother of a 16 year-old-girl at 22
The Brooke part is doable I fostered a teen too and I have been since I was 21. I even hosted a couple of exchange student, I dont have younger siblings and I always loved childre ever since I was a child, I really love it. Brooke didn't have a family her whole childhood it makes sense for her to do something like this. I do agree about the man looking older, that's so true
For Chad and James I agree, but I think Julian(Austin) was supposed to be older. Like 27-28. Which I think he actually was back in 2009, or at least close. So for him it was perfect. But all the others. I just watched season 5 and 6 the other day, yeah, non of them look like 22-23 year olds. Not the girls, and certainly not the boys. Though the girls could have passed with different make up and wardrobe. They tried to mature them for the time jump, but they overdid it a bit.
James actually was the age he was playing after the time jump. He was 17 in season 1 so would've been 22 come season 5. The rest though were all around 21/22 when the show started, so were still playing a few years younger than their ages.
Gosh yeah, I've just turned 30 and I remember back in the day I always thought "why does my life not work or look like this?".
