I read both the Salt Path and Wild Silence. I like Raynor's style of writing, a sort of giving and taking. Foremost and utmost though, I admire her love for her husband and vice versa. It is wonderful to behold. May God Bless them both on their journey home.

Lovely interesting interview with Ray. I love your wonderful writing and your desire to make things better in all ways. Reading your words and listening to you is helping me, and many others to heal. I'm now reading ' Landlines' your third, inspiring book. A Happy New Year to you and Moth.

Superb book & have just bought The Wild Silence knowing that it will be beautifully written and that I will love reading it in the garden while my daughter’s bees fly in & out of the nearby hive 💖😊💖

I read The Salt Path and found it very interesting in describing the horrific experience of becoming homeless and losing everything in such an unjustified way and then receiving devastating news about Moth’s health. I initially thought their decision to walk was so brave but feared it to be the worst decision for Moth and it was so inspiring to find that it turned out to be the best decision for him as his symptoms eased dramatically. An interesting read about experiences that few of us will have. I’m nearly finished with The Wild Silence, and it’s interesting to find how the two of them deal with life after the path. The description of Iceland reminded me of Tolkiens description of Frodo and Sams walk through Mordor to Orodruin!

So glad tohave found that the reports of both Raynor and Moth's death were false. Disgusting that this should have happened. Good luck to you both. Have read both books and words fail me - fantastic!!!

The Salt Path is a guide through a Cruel a country, ravaged by capitalism. Honestly it's a criticism of austerity Britain

I found the Salt Path disappointing. The book was very repetitive and too long, the writer is mostly negative about the people they meet and I wonder if her own attitude caused others to treat her badly. To say that her actions were irresponsible, doesn't mean that one is lacking compassion. It is impossible to know how would anyone react in those dreadful circumstances, and I can imagine that the very shock of it all would make one take decisions that otherwise, one would't take. However, after a whole year, having had more time to process things, they still didn't arrange their finances or properly prepared. In the UK you can get all kinds of financial help from the government and charities if you follow the right channels. So, to take a terminally ill man on that walk without his medication subjecting him to dangerous withdrawal symptoms, feeding him junk food, getting him very close to the edge of the cliffs when his legs go into spasms and can easily lose his balance and fall to his death is indeed irresponsible. Even the author recognises that at some point. I am glad everything worked out for her, and that she turned things around and got a book deal. I hope that they went back and paid what they stole including the camp site fees they didn't pay. Great that people feel inspired to walk, that's great, but please, be sensible not everyone is going to be as lucky as these two.

This comment is peppered with self-righteous spite, and assumptions. How unpleasant.

@@jane5789 I agree, they stole because they were staving and society certainly looked down on them as a result of homelessness. I couldn’t of done what they did, I don’t think. It showed absolute strength of character for both of them

The book is neither repetitive nor too long. Maybe you have a short attention span …

I find your views interesting and ask where have you been thats made you to stand on the edge of life and death or challenged your security ...or may be you have not........if not you are very lucky if you have obviously there's always been a escape route . for some there is no escape route and no matter what you might think the safety nets do not account for no fixed abode . and threatening demise normally makes you take stock and ask if I have a short space of time what do I love and can I pack in . rather than sit and wait for death. what seems wrong and breaks the bubbles often gives a glorious new life and light even if its not as secure but its full rich in love life and energy ........then security is sometimes a lesser importance . ie held the dying , been homeless given up two good jobs and had mad adventures and at 61 I found my husband by accident a confirmed spinster married......risk has colour security can be like walking with no horizon thats how I see it.
