I can say I installed a Henstar double din, apple carplay/android auto wired, with back up camera, remote, mic, under $100, was way better than what you got there as far as layout and responsiveness, I'd never pay several hundred on name brand after experiencing that. Only downfall would be customer service when the time comes.
@@juliusmitchell407 it was for a 2005 corolla, it physically fit in the Metra double din dash mount but the holes on the headunit did not line up with dash kit so had to drill my own. It's been 4 months installed in my nieces car still works great.

Ok, my setup in my 2013 VW Amarok *Eonon VWA13 Headunit. Wireless and wired Android Auto and Apple Carplay. Awesome 36 band EQ. 9" screen. No need for additional wiring adapters and brackets as they're made to be model specific. $225 AUD on EBay *4X Rockford Fosgate Punch P-165 6.5" speakers that are so darn clear and powerful, it's not funny. My favorite car audio brand. Got the 4 speakers brand new on EBay for $240 on a deal about 6 or so years ago. So, $465 and I have an awesome infotainment system with pristine sound. The overly cheap headunits might be liked by some, but are often despised by more. Better off getting one of those portable Android Auto/Carplay screens if you're looking at this particular headunit. Good review though! Thanks
Great review! I absolutely agree with your statement at the end. If your car is a beater car, then why put an expensive radio in it. If the car is new, then of course you want to invest a good radio in it.
I'd like for you to give an unbiased opinion on a higher spec android unit. All of the brands sell the cheap versions that are pretty slow and unresponsive but brands like Atoto or Joying offer premium android radios that I would argue offer more than the 1200$ Kenwood or JVC
Love the format of the video. Everybody has different reasons for the new car radio features - car play is all I ever wanted. Competing against a phone for maps on a new car stereo means more money ( in general ) Thanks so much for review will definitely watch more videos of your channel. 🔘
Got the SjoyBring A018 May 2022. Back up Camera, Maps, Waze, Front Camera that flips towards inside, when those revenue collectors come knocking on your widow with lies to extrot you for your funds. Also has a hand held remote as well as steering wheel contols. Paid $160 for it and I am Pretty happy with it for the price, Customer service email is great and responsive. Everything working great so far, cant complain for the price, self installed and saved myself lots of mula and learned more about my cara electronics while at it.
I don't think there are any like that, mostly because there would be sort of "lag" in between the actual movement of the car and what shows up on your screen. It's worth it to just stick with instant response in my opinion
Thanks for the video -- I just bought a similar unit and everything seems to be working fine (for what I bought it for) except I can't get my existing backup camera working. I'm thinking I have to somehow splice the existing camera wire onto the wire input provided with this new head unit?
All I can say is, “check please!” You’d do better by saving up and get a cheap Dual than this thing. At least you can take it back to Wally if it fails within a short time. I will say that the better manufacturers need to slow down with “feature creep” by putting a bunch of stuff in a head unit people don’t really want or need. I’ve never used the HDMI on my Pioneers and I don’t need a gigantic screen or a half dozen camera inputs. Just make a radio with wireless CarPlay, a standard screen, ONE camera input and regular RCAs and keep it around $250 - $300 and they’d probably make a lot of folks happy to upgrade.
I found one of these in a liquidation store for 20 bucks and still feel like I got ripped off. Android auto and apple carplay "worked" but the feed was so overbright and saturated that it was barely even visible (unusable). There was a constant hiss unless muted, the audio quality sucked. The UI looked dated and had awkward english and the steeing wheel control learn did not work. It had that same HD MP5 bootup logo and the rear looked identical including the poor fitment.

Another note on these chassis, they’re too shallow in some vehicles. I installed one in my Titan and the screen rests about 1”+ behind where the screen should be. Returned the fk out of it.
Not worth it. Makes a simple installation difficult....Will not fit any DDIN kit for any vechicle....wire colors on the radio harness sometimes can be different than any wiring harness...50/50 chance of it working or turning on after install....
Hey bud quick question are you selling one that you have? I’m in law enforcement and need one for my personal vehicle. Any help would be greatly appreciated
Theres 500,000 $ super cars that you cant get apple car play or android auto on..lol . Just shows they can make a radio with both option and a reverse camera cheap and they are making money.. makes ya wonder just how cheap they actually CAN make these Alpines , pioneers etc...

Review the ATOTO brand
What’s the hardest car manufacturer brand you ever work with to install stereos? (For example: Mercedes Benz).

I bet it also depends how hot the car gets to determine how much time you get out of it
If your not looking to push your system with a built in amp and some serious build material cheap Amazon radios will do
How did you trigger the camera? Looking into one of these for a project.

In most cases yes sometimes you need an adapter sometimes you need to figure it out and hard wire. Depends …
if it was double din spec it would be a sure buy for the price and feature... not being double din makes it hard to recommend IMO
