- Today I got to ride something super unique! The Buell is a nice piece of American V Twin on a sport chassis that screams to be opened up! This was definitely a fun ride and I hope it answers any questions you have going into liter bikes! 1000cc sport bikes are super fun ;)

Absolutely love the video!!! Thanks for reviewing my bike man!!! Sooo my assessment of why it shut off is because of the tuning it has... The bike I believe is running super rich and nobody out here can tune that bike which is killing me... I’m working on finding a tuner still...
You’re more than welcome dude! Loved it! And that makes a lot of sense. I feel like you’ve told me that before so it all makes sense now
The engine is a rotax. Check out any shop that works on snowmobiles or jet-ski's which also use Rotax engines. They may be able to help you out.
Contact IDS (Intelligent Design Solutions). You can have them tune your ECM or buy a new one tuned to that exhaust from them
Buell tooth, data log a run, send it to IDS and they can tune you oem computer if u sent it to them. Its around 100$
I’m curious what brand exhaust you have on there
It's a shame that after taking over Buell, that Harley kinda tossed them aside. Promoting that line more might have brought new young customers to Harley. Just my 2 cents.🤘
Yea absolutely. That’s the nasty part of big corporations unfortunately. No matter how much the customers want differently sometimes
motomattman , Cycle World had a series of articles about the whole Buell fiasco after HD axed them in 2009-10. Buell was always treated like crap and given a low budget, so they were not developed all that well and had a lot of QC and recalls to deal with. Meantime the dealers hated Buell because they wanted to sell you an HD with $4K of chrome added on. And just as they were getting better, with the XB12's and 1125's, HD brought in the CEO of Johnson Outboards who killed Buell for good. All very sad.
As a 29 year old riding a Aprilia Millie, I’d would love to see new buells rolling off the line. Would love to have one
Well harley are wankers! 👽
Right, but harley limited them in what they could do power wise with the Harley engines……. Now if they made a buell firebolt with a motor from a 1125r in it. That thing would fly.
Awesome review I just bought a wrecked Buell 1125 for $200 me and my wife are bringing her back to life.
Nice!! Can’t beat projects 🤙🏽🤙🏽
Do it I owe one and she is worth all of my time but yes I was a gamer now I'm a biker VR can't beat 150 and now I get to now that there is more miles to be fast is this miy b day jejejeje pandemic it's almost over yet!!!!!
Today I’m picking up a 2008 1125R. Bike is minty and signed by Eric B. Stage 1 tune and Barker muffler. Original owner is from Wisconsin and toured the Buell factory.
What. A. Machine.
How you like the bike?
I started on the 250 and moved after just two or three months to the 08 buell 1125R No regrets.
Heelllzz yea buddy !!
My 1125r is a beast ..i got the barkers pipe . sounds killer and very nice looking too !
Thank you for checking out the video! It definitely is a beast wanting to be let loose 🔥
@@REVSANITY new sub too 🤘..i like your style keep up the good work my friend.
@@megadave9941 I really appreciate that dude! It means a lot! Will keep the content coming 🤙🏽
Same👍👍
Talking about v twin liter bikes. If you haven’t got to ride a tl100r you gotta check it out. Absolute wheelie monsters!
I picked up a 2017 EBR1190RX last Friday. I love it, nothing like anything I have ever ridden! 1125 CR will be next as my comfy cruiser to ride my kids on. Stay safe out there!
I have one of these with a keda rt3 from dean adams. With the ebr ecu for the exhaust it changes the bike completely. It will cruise at a lower rpm without bucking like being able to go 30 in 3rd gear vs 2nd gear in stock form. Complete animal with just those mods. Turns heads everywhere. Always have people asking about it and leaves most bikes in the dust if you can manage the wheel spin and keep the front end down
This. My 1125 was almost unrideable when I got it, it would buck at low speeds and ran hot. The IDS ECM and barkers exhaust turned it into a completely different bike, never runs hot and it’s smooth at all speeds now
I need that ebr ecu
More Buells, and EBRs!
I gotta find them first! Lol
That shut off had me like “😳”
Right?! Def was not expecting that lol
I love my 1125r!
They’re awesome!
I’ve always loved those bikes
It was a fun first ride!
Actually Buell was building a two stroke race bike, but they changed the rules to allow 1,000 CC 4 strokes to compete against 500 CC two strokes.. So Buell got ahold of some of HD's 1200 CC Evolution race motors and raced them .
I got a 2009 1125cr. 4th Buell and love em all, but the Rotax engine is the best. Once HD finally let him outsource the engine he was able to make a true v-twin stud. Then a new HD CEO shut them down because they didn't fit the image of Harley. Stupid decisions.
@revsanity subbed as well
Dude thank you for the sub! And yea man this bike is an absolute beaut. Funny how Harley never saw the FXDR coming 👀👀 talk about “fitting the image.” Lol
@@REVSANITY if I was gonna buy a cruiser (and my back keeps asking me to) it'd be the FXDR. I can get down with the vision on that bike
HD is finally figuring out what they had, and should have maintained a decade ago by introducing the Pan America (Buell Ulysses) and Bronx (all other Buells). Then they said nah on the Bronx lol.
The new CEO was a non-biker jerk who used the excuse of O'Bummer's Recession to shut down Buell and "focus on better profits" )i.e., selling overpriced cruisers and chrome. And there was more to the story but Buell got screwed.
And now they're struggling to "entice younger buyers" and just doing exactly what Buell already was
I also have a 2008 1125r blue colour limited edition. All original. I so love it awesome ride.
The stock exhaust is LOUD
I have a 2008. It’s a BEAST
Such a unique and fun bike!
You have a video of it bro? I’m looking at an 08 right now
@@kadengrigson860 I thought I did, couldn’t find it.... Unless you have a good amount of funds available and/or your own skill sets to repair the bike I would not. it is a hard bike to find parts for.
It’s an amazing unique ride though
Stock exhaust is quiet actually. I'm still running it on my 2008, but drilled the outlet for a little more throaty sound. Still not loud at all, but sounds less muffled.
@@ponti1000 well, that’s cool. I absolutely love the stock exhaust note of my beast.
what a beast of a bike!
Man it was a fun bike haha. May have to use this stimulus as a down payment 😆
Nice review man. I love that bike!
Thank you man! It really is a gorgeous bike :)
Love you videos much love from Ireland 🇮🇪
just bought one of these (08) . its my first sport bike, doing the valve cover gaskets . looking forward to opening her up in a few weeks... HB
Congrats! Enjoy the project 🤙🏽🤙🏽
“Im guna spread some holiday spirit”
Proceeds to quietly roll up to the other bikers , stare at them, and mumble to himself
I just saw a Buell 1125 R of 2009 with 600 miles for $7,999. It’s with an Harley Davidson dealership here in Phoenix AZ and I am so interested with this bike to buy. Your review is very helpful to me, especially for a rider like me who’s 6,1 tall and worried about the bike to be too uncomfortable or not suitable for tall drivers. Any other tips or feedback from you would be highly appreciated. Thanks.
I just found one on local Facebook for $3k
American with an austrian built engine after he gave up on the lump HD kept trying to make him use.
I did not know that! Thank you for that info :) thank you for watching!
@@REVSANITY I had one for a while, most terrifying bike I've ever owned. Loved it to death. I feel kinda like Jeremy Clarkson and his curmdgenly trying to deny that his GT500 was an American car.
But this was the last year for Erik at HD. He was using the Rotax in the 1125R and check out what he did with the 2010 Blast. www.motorcycledaily.com/2009/08/12august09smashedblast/
He raced for yamaha for years before he set out to make the American sport bike. I appreciate the things EBR is doing now (Erik Buell Racing) but it's not the right bike for me.
Thank you for making the video and sharing =)
Good stuff my dude!
Thanks man! Thanks for watching!
That is a super pretty bike
What exhaust do you have on it?
I’ve got one!! Really special ..!
They really are! Thanks for checking out the video!
Bro do you live in Nav? i had a feeling it looked familiar then i saw you pull off the bridge and knew😭
If it has a Dean Adams pipe its the best pipe u can get.
Funny discussion in the second half of the video-
I bought my ‘08 1125r in 2013, it was a dealership holdover and had ~500 miles on it. It was my first street bike, and looking back now I wouldn’t have it any other way. It’s incredibly capable, and I was able to learn how to ride on it but also grow into it as I got better. Ive been in a few situations over the years that I believe I would have put a lesser bike down in, but this bike is the equivalent of fast twitch muscles and can handle whatever you throw at it. I’ve also never grown tired of it’s power. I still love it more every time I ride it, almost 10 years later. It’s also been surprisingly reliable. Besides the first belt breaking, I’ve done nothing but maintenance and a few minor performance mods
Would I recommend you get an 1125r as your first bike? Nah, probably not. But, it worked out for me. And I was an idiot at 20 years old when I bought it 😂
Yo bro I'm bout to by this bike from a friend and it also my first bike and I don't have much experience also
@@dawnsus1658 do you at least have some experience on two wheels? I neglected to mention I grew up on dirtbikes in my comment lol
@@basedWisco715 I have a week's worth of driving skills
@@dawnsus1658 lmao don’t buy an 1125
@@basedWisco715 I drove it once and I'd say it definitely has a lot of power
My favorite motorcycle of all time just nobody knows how to work on them around here
My buell 1125cr is originally out of florida
Right on!
My buddy bought one. Only thing I had ridden before was a 125 pit bike. And then jumped on one of these bikes😂
I've only rode on my cousins 50cc dirt bike and I'm thinking about getting one of these soon
I’m 22 and just got my first bike (2021 sportster 1200) I’ve always wanted a buell think it would be a good first sport bike or no?
looks like a cool bike
It brought many smiles 😁
The exhaust looks to be a Dean Adam's-Keeda RT4...the backfire you have is because the ECM is not tuned for that specific exhaust. Thus...is stalling on ya. I have one...awesome bike and super fun. You can download a free app called ECM Droid and get the BUELLTOOTH.COM wireless dongle for the ECM and re-map fueling and other things. Great video
Right on! I’ll let my buddy know about that site! Super helpful! Thank you for checking out the video 🤙🏽🙏🏽
@@REVSANITY if it for sure has a dean adams pipe you can just send the oem computer right to IDS Intelligent Design Solutions and tell them what pipe and air filter set up you have along with gearing and they will retune the computer for 100$ and it will be sent back within a week
is this close to navarre??
Dude I live like 30-45 minutes away from there we gotta link up and ride sometime
Oh solid dude! Always down for a ride 🤙🏽🤙🏽
@@REVSANITY hit me up on insta @streettitans850
Nice vid... I have a white 09 1125R and live east of Destin. Familiar roads. If you’re out this way, let’s run ‘em!
I love white bikes! Yea dude! If you ever see me around def say what’s up!
Badass!
Thank you!
Cool bike
Makes no sense why they didn't use the vrod engine instead of rotax
I was like “damn that gas station looks familiar…..THATS JUANAS PAGODA!!!”
It def is!
I just scored a 2008 25th anniversary with 10k miles for $2300
I fuck'en love my Buell! My 03' My Hog in a Bog!
They are one of the coolest bikes!
Hey that’s Navarre 🙂❤️
Yes it is!
What part of Florida you in? I’m in orlando
I’m near Destin!
Like a faster, more expensive and much more exclusive SV1000.
The engine in this bike is a Rotax not a Harley v-twin
Thanks 🤙🏽🤙🏽
I thought you said it was loud? Lol it’s not loud at all to me
That’s due to editing the audio for more voice clarity 😌
Nice bike but them side skirt /radiators are way to big an hideous
My personal opinion but the 1125cr is so much nicer.
It's about riding position I guess? Same bike with minor tweaks.
Funny, Yamaha bring out the Fazer 1000 gen 1, the 2005 are the better ones, and who jumps on the same wagon a few years later, with nothing like the same power but the same looks and its touted as something new 😂 nothing competes with the gen 1 fazer 1000, end of, brilliant bike but, its a touring bike, the R1 is the sports bike version of it....also, an 1100 engine would be more expensive to insure too, upto 1000cc are a different price band, cheaper
The buell is more than a liter...oy vey
Ok
American, Austrian, same thing :eyeroll
Great review. Got to be the ugliest bike I've ever seen, those air intakes are vile
an actual fast Buell because that one does not have a Harley engine
It’s a fun bike!
Guess you have not ridden an XB12R. Not a lot of top speed, but plenty up to about 120 mph.
