I think this a metaphor for a toxic relationship where the guy thinks he has more power than the woman (little red) but it’s actually she who is more dangerous because she’s more manipulative since he needs her more than she needs him so you see that at the end with their shadows reflecting the true situation. A codependent toxic relationship
I literally got the chills while reading this and listing to the song also I use to listen to this when I was a little younger idek wat made part of the song come in my head but when it did I Search up the song and listened to it jeez years go by so fast
As the song goes on the wolves voice gets softer and more human like whereas the girls voice stays constant throughout the song, he changes for her but she doesn’t change for him
@@TheRealTuesdayWeld he sings she never really is. Her words are short and emotionless. Even singing her part u naturally want to drag out the last word. But she doesn't she is cold, dry, emotionless. This means nothing to her.
he does say she would make him better but she warns him that him that someone will "die" if they get together because they don't work together she says she has a thing but if i heard it right, she said her actual self is to much. also at the end she says if he loves he dies so maybe whoever loves the other, that person will get hurt because they aren't good at giving back the love. i don't think there's really good guys or bad guys in this story
Honestly, I think the story in this song is pretty straightforward. The woman only feels interest or attraction torwards the dangerous side of Mr.Wolf. Whenever he tries more romantic/genuine things, she immediately shows disinterest. She's weirdly calm during the entire sequence where both are in imminent danger and even says she has an appetite that can't be easily satiated. She doesn't love the man, she only loves the thrill he can provide. So when he starts to show a softer side, she loses interest completely.
And yet she does care enough about that other side of him to warn him... Pretty much of precisely that: That she already knows in advance she'll either lead him to a broken heart or an early end and would rather not see him do either. She doesn't give the same warning to the man she dates, probably because she knows he's just looking for some nookie -- that he's just some shallow toolbag for whom she has no actual feelings. Kind of like Morrigan from Dragon Age: Origins. Real honest love is something she understands, but hasn't experienced, and seeing it from others just makes her uncomfortable.
She sounds so sarcastic about it all. The way she sings "Hello Mr Wolf, oh what a surprise to find you here so deep in the night." To me it sounds like she already expected him to be there. The way she sings "Oh, my love", you know she doesn't mean it when she calls him her love. She's really playing him.
She's clearly interested in the animal. She's dancing to his rhythm the moment she meets him. Flirting with him because of his danger. Going through big traps and seeing death at every turn? This shit she's into. When he talks about growing, and their floating through the sky.. She's disinterested 1:43 . And then again, at 1:47 , he's trying to do romantic gestures of taking her to a picnic with wine and.. She's so not into it she spills the wine on the blanket. Only really investing herself when in moments later the wine cup is sharp, full of pills, hard liquor, weapons and a skull. The scenes of violence we're shown is her expectation of the man. She expects a wolf- a dangerous untamed creature. Expectation doesn't meet reality. He falls in love. He gets the door for her. Is sweet and avoids dangers, keeping in the light instead of the darkness. It's revealed he's a man- not an animal at all. 3:57 . So she breaks it off with him, turning him into an animal in the end.. but a meek hurt prey, not the beast she desired.
I feel like the story is not about two murderers, but two serial cheaters. The Wolf and the Damsel are the two kinds of cheaters. The Wolf is a homewrecker, he targets couples and tears them apart due to his selfish desires, which is represented by literally tearing couples apart, and how he is hunted by others from the shadows (Private detectives who are investigating allegations of infidelity). The Damsel on the other hand is the one who has no fidelity to her lover, she is ready and willing to toss him aside the moment someone else catches her attention, and she doesn't have much attention for the Wolf to begin with, in many scenes she is looking off to the side with complete disinterest, only occasionally sparing a glance towards her suitor. Both of them are capable of "Killing" the other through their habits, but they aren't just warning the other, they are also afraid that the other may do to them that they do to others, a sort of karma for their actions. In the end, the Damsel cheats on the Wolf, and the Wolf is heartbroken, represented to being cast to rock bottom along with other men who've had their heart's broken, drowning his sorrows, chased by the memory of what she did to him.
This was given to me in the start of a very passionate relationship, as a warning. and now that it has ended ever so bitterly, oddly enough, It's serving me as a comfort song. Thank you for a great creation.
When I just listen to the audio apart from the music video, I imagine a male werewolf and female vampire falling in love and trying to maintain a relationship while both having the urge to devour each other.
I like this cause two people who are serial cheaters come across someone that they actually love but they let the fear of getting to close ruin their relationship.

Looking back at this now, I can see what they meant when they said the woman was the true villain. Mr Wolf at the start has a simple desire "to have a little bite", a "meal", the primal desire for her body. The woman starts with simple warning that if he stayed with her, they'd both regret it. She is baiting him deeper into his desire to win her over by playing into his insecurities and desperation. It starts out with them trying to go on dates for a bit, having the common ground that it could end up with one of them too into it while Mr Wolf is unaware of the inner demon getting closer to him. The woman in response to Mr Wolf's pleads for a exchange of just a "bite" between the two states that her "hunger" or drive is there but suggests that their relationship is lacking in the romantic side, which leads Mr Wolf to decide to change for her with her help. Here she again baits him by warning that her desire will lead to his end solidifying to him that he is indeed the problem. Time passes and he discovers a corpse she had killed and confronts her about it but ends convinced to kill people for her hand. The background is filled with stuff he has gotten for her but it is not enough and he is lead by her into a world of drugs, alcohol and death. Mr Wolf at one point opposes it all but is tamed by her violent threats. The inner demons are now dancing around them as Mr Wolf stays ignorant to it and the trees of the forest where they met now represent the true nature of their relationship. When he finally realizes the truth it is too late. He compares the allure of what she has been giving to him to the massacred dance floor he had done it for. He was being used and he has nothing in his life anymore as he gave it all away to become better for her. At that realization the Wolf is gone, he has died inside plunging into mental hell that can only be soothed by his addiction to alcohol, forever chased by the faded strong reins of control over him.
I have a weird theory that the lady is The Devil in disguise, just to make Mr. Wolf pay for his sins, hence the ending with Mr. Wolf falling down to hell.
I like to think that the wolf at first just wants the girl for her body but through out the song the wolf starts to look past her body and falls for her. And at first the girl wants the wolf for himself but by the time the wolf starts to actually falls in love, the girl has lost interest realizing that the wolf only wanted her body.
@@Milk-ck1wv actually, in the story [in my eyes] it heavily implies that the girl is a danger to him, [scene where she points gun at he, scene where she is chasing he, her shadow is a monster and his is a rabbit] he might believe he has power in the relationship, but in the end shes the real one thats after him, and hurting him more then he could hurt her. Also implied that hes scared of her near the end, driving him into alcoholism. In the story, she also talks about how she is aware that she might hurt him in the end, and he speaks about how he still wants her. In the end, he gets hurt, and no matter how he may see himself [a big bad wolf] hes just proven to be like us, human. Thats just a theory though, [also sorry if this reply is annoying, I know how people on youtube are, always trying to "correct" and "one up" each other, but I genuinely just love this song and how it has some kinda lore, and like sharing]
I think the Girl is something like a Memory that haunts him. She was most likely his girfriend or maybe even wife (before he was a Werwolf). He loved her but in the Night he Transformed he killed her in a killing Frenzy. Now he keeps seeing her chasing after him and even when he drinks he can not forget her. She chases him like a devil and he kills himself maybe after such a drinking night where his hell is to Relive the day over and over again meeting her in a fatefull Night and wanting her and she knows that it will end with the same she dead and him killing himself over and over again and she just walks with him warning him but can not be obvious about it.
Damn. That would go hand in hand with the fact red is the most vibrant color in this video. All the blood is red and she wears a vibrant red dress. She wasn’t getting murdered on our screen but she was already always dead.
I think people take a lot of the song too literally and other parts not literally enough. The wolf is dead before the final scenes, the final scenes are recontextualizing everything we've seen and showing the girl was the predator in this specific situation all along.
As an artist, this video is one of by biggest inspirations! How the characters move and the colors is just really interesting to watch and examine. The story of this music video is also very compelling, nice to know that people are still trying to piece it together. One of my favorite parts is at 2:07, when the girl got slightly more expressive than in the rest of the video. The pacing and scenes shown is overall just incredible to look at. A lot of passion and work went into this and it definitely shows, wonder work
1:33 “ there old and uptight, whata they know, I’m all appetite, you’ll help me to grow” I am obsessed with this part!!! It sounds so melodic and enchanting!! Great music and animation!!
This reminds me of my favorite poem: _When I was a young man, and very well thought of,_ _I couldn't ask aught that the ladies denied._ _I nibbled their hearts like a handful of raisins,_ _And I never spoke love but I knew that I lied._ _But I said to myself, "Ah, they none of them know_ _The secret I shelter and savor and save._ _I wait for the one who will see through my seeming,_ _And I'll know when I love by the way I behave."_ _The years drifted over like clouds in the heavens;_ _The ladies went by me like snow on the wind._ _I charmed and I cheated, deceived and dissembled,_ _And I sinned, and I sinned, and I sinned, and I sinned._ _But I said to myself, "Ah, they none of them see_ _There's part of me pure as the whisk of a wave._ _My lady is late, but she'll find I've been faithful,_ _And I'll know when I love by the way I behave."_ _At last came a lady both knowing and tender,_ _Saying, "You're not at all what they take you to be."_ _I betrayed her before she had quite finished speaking,_ _And she swallowed cold poison and jumped in the sea._ _And I say to myself, when there's time for a word,_ _As I gracefully grow more debauched and depraved,_ _"Ah, love may be strong, but habit is stronger,_ _And I knew when I loved by the way I behaved."_
I like how the girl's just chill with all of this- and after reading the many theories about this song, it makes me think that she's playing along, because she knows she has the upper hand and is way more dangerous than her lover, who thinks they have the upper hand. And also, they're probably both partners and involved in some Mafia stuff- since after the Wolf's killing spree, they were in the same car, running away. Also, in the start, the girl was in a forest, probably looking for the wolf- since why would someone go in a forest alone, wearing something so damn fancy- maybe after a party or something. She might've been looking for him to warn him, like some other theories say. Really lovely song though. Real bop.
She's like a vampire, sucking the life out of you slowly without you noticing until you feel dead and dreaded, while the wolf seemed interested in her body but soon realized that he wasn't the big bad wolf here, SHE was the hunter from the begging but at the same time she could be just playing him from the start
@I am Ok As much as I like that MAP, I don't think it should get all that credit. I mean this video and song is just... Everything. I'm honestly surprised that when I first found this video it was still under 1M. And then even more surprising is that it's pretty old too. Criminally underrated. 😔
@@TheRealTuesdayWeld LOL thank you! But seriously your video was amazing and the animation is great💖 i just learned to check the volume when i put my headphones in 😭😭😭😭
I keep re-watching this, the story telling is just too good! The fact that the wolf's voice gets softer as the song continues just proves how he ended up loving her, yet she was never that for that in the first place. It's a friend's with benefits to one sided love that just turns so bitter sweet! 😭
Neither of them are actual murderers in the song (and the video is a figurative representation of the song). 'Mr. Wolf' is an unsavory man who sleeps around with many women, and after losing the woman he loves due to his vices, he indulges even more heavily to drown his woes (shown in the song 'Kix'). Figuratively, he begins preying on innocent women and tearing relationships apart (doing so literally in the video). So, seeing a 'mistress of the night' (not necessarily a prostitute, but definitely someone who has more and worse vices than he and has reason to be wandering about "so deep in the night"), he falls in love. In this case his being the stronger and more fearsome-looking character in the video also represents a feeling of emotional invincibility; he doesn't believe he truly cares about women anymore after having been left previously. He makes advances ("how about supper", "just a bite", and so on), but she warns him away because she is jaded and can no longer trust anyone enough to love them ("if I open wide..."). They form a relationship based on their both having terrible vices, despite her continued insistence it is a bad idea ("they say there's more to love than a meal" mocks his use of "just a bite" and other eating metaphors, which are actually propositions for sex). Eventually they become intimate in the bridge of the song, both of them secretly afraid to love another ("if I taste you, will we know? - if love kills or makes you whole"). Unfortunately for Mr. Wolf, he finds that he does love her, but she doesn't love him. She leaves him much like he left his original partner, and it 'kills' him (in the video we see Mr. Wolf drinking heavily; it may be that he literally drinks himself to death). In the end, she was more dangerous to the wolf than he was to her, inverting the typical fairy tale.
Anachronity Thank you for explaining the meaning of the video to the song. I got very confused at the end and didn't really figure out what exactly was going on. But thanks to you I now better understand the relationship between the video and the song.
Most people: *trying to find the meaning behind the song* Some dude: Her dress is so short wth Dude 2.0: Hah she’s secretly a mean girl Me: That band really doesn’t pay attention to their whole audience being murdered smh. They must be the real golddiggers here.
One thing I noticed (after watching this for the millionth time) is that the Wolf spends pretty much the entire song looking at her, whereas she only gives him occasional glances and is usually looking ahead or at the viewer. She's everything to him, but to her, he's only a vague passing interest.
That's kind of the point/a part of the video friend.Yeah he was a big scary wolf(metaphorically), but she was in turn much more dangerous then him to an extent. That's why those particular silhouettes at the end of the video. She become the "Wolf" and he become the "prey/a rabbit".
I can’t be the only one who found it kinda sweet how that short little man was dancing with a way taller lady and she was bent over for him just having the time of their lives. Well not for long.. Edit: I just realized I’ve commented on here before a year ago
I randomly came across this video, and this is easily one of my favorite songs of all time! Instant favorite and such a interesting story up to interpretation
My turn to theorize~ The wolf is a sex hungry womanizer, he doesn't care for an intimate relationship, he just wants a pretty girl who can entertain him. Perhaps because he is addicted to sex, constantly needing it to fill a hole in his life in attempt to feel complete. Because of this, he often preys on women, tearing apart any relationships she already has to feast on them and ward off any men who'd get in his way. Then when he gets bored of his current sex partner, he leaves them all used up and their hearts torn open, while he goes to search for a new girl to entertain him and use up. This all changes when his next target is the girl. The girl has had many toxic relationships in the past with men who'd use her, loving her for only her looks. She's starving for a real, intimate relationship with someone who cares about her for her. However her trust has been broken far too many times, and refuses to open up easily, refusing to let the wolf into her heart. The wolf keeps trying to lure her in, getting more and more frustrated as she plays hard to get. So he keeps taking her out and treating her, in hopes to "buy sex" by getting close to her with various dates. As they go on more dates though, the more the wolf realizes how much he wants her, and her specifically, not just her body. However he's spent so long being a sex addict who just uses women, he doesn't know how to be a healthy partner, falling back to old habits and preying on other women. These women aren't enough now however, he wants the girl, so he hops from woman to woman, using them and tearing their hearts apart in search for satisfaction, but the girl is all he wants. The girl however can sense the wolf's desire for her, but can't tell if it's for her or her body, due to how often previous men used her. She's desperately trying to give the relationship a shot in search for love. However in fear and self defense, any time she even has a hint of suspicion the wolf will tear her heart open and leave her like previous guys she loved, she reacts aggressively and coldly, shutting her heart off and getting violent towards the wolf. This cycle repeats and repeats. The wolf going mad, unable to escape his bad habits, his addiction, his toxic behavior, hurting the girl. The girl chasing after her desire to be intimate with the wolf, but unable to push past her fears and open her heart up, thus lashing out and threatening the wolf instead, hurting him. A toxic relationship where neither are able to work past their issues, hurting each other constantly, yet unable to give up the chase.
It's interesting how the woman's expression barely changes and shows little to no emotion in most scenes. She doesn't even seem to react to all the carnage Mr Wolf does during the dance. Also, while she does look a bit worried during the early moments, she has a very relaxed body language once Mr. Wolf approaches her. As if she was looking for him. She also shows no emotions when she says "Oh my love, I want you to." giving me the impression she is just saying something the wolf wants to hear from her. It helps or rather doesn't help that she's not even moving her lips when she says that. So did she even say it, did the Wolf thought she said it? (The thought is too good to blame it on an animation error. Seriously.) Then there'S the picnic scene, where she looks more annoyed and her dropping the glass of wine seems to be intended, rather than an accident. Like she doesn't even enjoy his company and only has him around for something specific (which might be his killings). Though she's not entirly heartless, as she is the one to warn Mr Wolf of her being his undoing. And while the first seconds of the song give the impression of the wolf being a predator type and attacking the woman in the end, he never does. Looking at the end, even his, er, double entendres seem to be a bad choice of words from his side, while being completly sincere and honest to her. (The chase scene at the end is quite a giveaway, though.) Though I am not positive of what's happening in the end. Did she dump him and he drowned his sorrow in alcohol? Or was her hunger for violence way too much for him and he drank to forget? Couldn'T the wolf live up to her standards anymore and she got rid of him by killing Mr Wolf? Did Mr. Wolf die or was it more of an metaphorical death? That most scenes are not in chronological order makes the story a bit hard to follow. Overall a really enjoyable story with enough gaps to fill them with theories. Kudos to that, I like it.
I love the old Cartoony style, it makes it feel nostalgic. The Animation is absolutely gorgeous and fluid. Even if it's 8 or 9 years old I really like that it's still getting the appreciation it deserves. It makes me happy to see artists working together to make a big project like his and have it get appreciated
each of the character designs are so immaculate!! the human woman's design is so pretty, and the wolf's human form is so pretty!! the wolf form matches the 1930s cartoon aesthetic so well!
I have a theory about this; the wolf is actually the guy with a smile having dinner with the girl. The girl represents the devil or well his after punishment. As when he was a normal human he fell in love with a girl or well a need for her. A strong one. So when he lost her which i doubt he killed her i think he tried to control himself and his monster inside of him. Untill he started killing women and men. In the video there is a part where they both jump inti a black abiss where pills could be seen. Perhaps the girl was foolish and very attractive. He got lost way into her eyes. Perhaps he was abusing drugs and alcohol too as we can se the wolf getting drunk and the pills from earlier. We also see a noose the girl maybe killed herself and jjst then the real wolf came out of him. Now he is serving his punishment which is her. She is the monster she haunts him each day in a loop stuck. Seducing him and making him fall deeper into her like before. But this time he can't run anywhere.
I have a theory the girl could be like a manipulative gold digger. The women is after his money while his after her body. He thought he has the upper hand but She manipulates him to metaphorically "kill" anyone friends strangers relatives etc; for her and he ends up drinking himself to death from guilt and lust as she leaves him isolated.
@@TheRealTuesdayWeld xD thanks haha Edit 8 months later : but having them both sing the chorus together "I have the thing u love but the need in me is way too much if I open wide, one of us will get lost inside, me or u one of us is going to need to die" Shows they both Start off and seem to be on equal playing fields. Another way this could have ended is if the wolf ate or " killed" her instead and leave her traumatised / with stds / moneyless. But in this video the girl wins and starts to forget about empathy in her greed for money.
Other people: **trying to find out what this song means** someone: *her skirt is so short!* me responds: *shes secretly from mean girls and tries hiding the secret*
Is this song supposed to be sad? Because I'm sad :( I feel like the wolf and the girl really have feelings for each other, but because both of them have these needs and fear that they can't give up, they can't truly love each other and it would be self-destructing if one of them falls too much for the other. It's really sad for me that they can't love each other even if they really want to. I don't know if I interpreted the song right but that's just how I feel listening to it. I'm going to try and find the novel from Amazon now.
you should check out the movie annihilation staring natalie portman. whole movie is a big metaphore of ones own self destruction wrapped up in a trippy sci-fi.
I think it is a codependent, toxic relationship where the man is this sleezy douche or at the very least appears to be that way at the start. I do think that both parties love each other but I think the girl is afraid of being in love and being in a committed relationship. In the end the wolf opens up to her and does everything and anything for her or just to get her attention, to an almost if not toxic extent. The girl falls out of the relationship leaving the wolf alone, shattered. In the end, though it starts off as if the wolf is the predator who is more powerful and therefore is more capable of hurting the girl, the girl is the true wolf who ends up hurting the man instead. The wolf is then transformed into a man and the girl, a wolf. This shows the reversal of roles and power dynamic.
I absolutely adore the art style and all the small details. My interpretations for timestamp 1:50-1:52 when there's a chess piece (wolf is getting played), a fish, (wolf is the one who got catfished, not the girl), the monsters and demons (presumably she is a demon?), a caliper (she's sizing Mr. Wolf up), a diamond ring (she's a femme fatale), several clocks (Wolf is running out of time), and all the various weapons' to showcase the dangerous relationship. A few moments later when they jump into the cup there's a Silver bullet that flashes right before she points the gun at him. There's too many to count, but I LOVE the details!
Also when she says "Mr. Wolf, my hunger is real. But don't they say there's more to love than a meal" I feel like she openly warned Wolf that she doesn't love him, she just wants the satisfaction of what's going to result from this. Mr. Wolf didn't get the hint and even tried to stand up for his love by denouncing the old men's' wise words.
@@Kimigirl227 I think that originally Mr. Wolf was using her and she said that line to put up the act of the “sweet girl who’s fallen in love with the bad wolf” when later in the song the wolf has fallen for the girl and she has been the one to dupe him.
Notice how at 0:23 she claims to be "surprised" to find him there in the middle of the dark forest. In fairy tales of wolf and red ridding hood I believe she finds the wolf within a forest. In all likelihood she either went into the forest with the purpose of catching him with the wolf being her prey or given both suffer from similar issues, a voracious appetite, that is why they end up finding each other in the same place. People with similar problems or backgrounds tend to bump into each other. Even if she went out to find him it's not like the wolf, given he is cut from the same cloth, is going to pass by an opportunity to satiate his appetite. Both parties claim to not know what will happen in the relationship and indicate at 2:07 that either one could end up on top. Both initially expressed the desire for their appetite to not overwhelm the other though both expect it will occur. It seems to be the nature of their activity or behavior will inevitably lead to such an outcome. They are indulging in their appetites together instead of addressing the flaw or at least managing it. It goes to show then that it was never a given who would come out on top in their flawed relationship, whose flaws would overwhelm the other. Throughout the video you can see the wolf killing people, but I believe it is not frequent or in large numbers until it gets out of hand later with the woman being fine with it. The wolf used to only indulge his appetite sparingly and carefully with the right environment to avoid being caught only to later ignore the detectives he is worried about symbolizing the consequences of his actions. His initial kills appear around the same image of him being perched on a ledge at one point. He is enjoying his appetite still and expressing it by howling to the moon only to later not be doing so. Furthermore, initially blood appears behind closed doors only for it to be out in the open later. It could even be interpreted that at the big party either his/their "excessive appetite" is hurting those around them as well as each other or the people at the big party also like to indulge in the same activity/behavior only for it to get them too. On their way there to the party the couple had to dodge multiple obstacles with various close calls. Perhaps the people at the party aren't so lucky. If you look at 3:28 one woman is even tired from engaging in the activity (the appetite), but can't stop herself from continuing. Likewise even with many people dying around them everyone keeps dancing as if nothing is wrong until only a few remain. Some appear more aware of their surroundings, the lethality of the problem, but are also unable to overcome it. I think the idea behind this involves two people starting a relationship where perhaps both parties have certain bad traits, but they are upfront about them and still want to be together. The wolf's bad traits are more visible even though the woman actually admits to having her own voracious appetite. By being together around those also over indulging in certain activities or bad habits one's bad habits get worse until it's too much. The final competing interpretations is whether the woman got into the relationship for the purpose of satisfying herself at the expense of the wolf or the woman is also a victim who is used to the voracious appetite more than the wolf and is better at managing or hiding it. It is possible the "self-destructive" behavior of both parties just leads to different outcomes where for the woman it has consumed her to the point where she can not feel anything outside of those moments, which is why she appears to be unemotional most of the time whereas the wolf instead becomes consumed by expressing it. Theoretically the woman could have even picked up the "voracious appetite" by being in the "dark forest" only to negatively impact those around her where the wolf represents the problem that the guy she is with later picks up as well by being with her. Regardless at the end of the video you can see demons running rampant indicating they are both continuing down that path regardless.

The Real Tuesday Weld yee
I think this a metaphor for a toxic relationship where the guy thinks he has more power than the woman (little red) but it’s actually she who is more dangerous because she’s more manipulative since he needs her more than she needs him so you see that at the end with their shadows reflecting the true situation. A codependent toxic relationship
I like that idea
Deep. In the end we're all used by someone.
So, they are both bad?
My ex tried that

@@TheRealTuesdayWeld he sings she never really is. Her words are short and emotionless. Even singing her part u naturally want to drag out the last word. But she doesn't she is cold, dry, emotionless. This means nothing to her.
@@coolgirlNbloomingt great take!
he does say she would make him better but she warns him that him that someone will "die" if they get together because they don't work together she says she has a thing but if i heard it right, she said her actual self is to much. also at the end she says if he loves he dies so maybe whoever loves the other, that person will get hurt because they aren't good at giving back the love. i don't think there's really good guys or bad guys in this story
This makes sense.
I guess she's into edgy furry
And yet she does care enough about that other side of him to warn him... Pretty much of precisely that: That she already knows in advance she'll either lead him to a broken heart or an early end and would rather not see him do either.
She doesn't give the same warning to the man she dates, probably because she knows he's just looking for some nookie -- that he's just some shallow toolbag for whom she has no actual feelings.
Kind of like Morrigan from Dragon Age: Origins. Real honest love is something she understands, but hasn't experienced, and seeing it from others just makes her uncomfortable.
The wolf could possibly also have just wanted to eat her at first, but in the end he developed actual feelings for her

@@customerservice1323 Oh yeah I didn't mean it's sad for him, I was just pointing out how manipulative she was.
@@soulangela7154 true

Did I just open an story book in the comments
@@cuddlemachine5340 yes, and now I’m invested
In the end, the Damsel cheats on the Wolf, and the Wolf is heartbroken, represented to being cast to rock bottom along with other men who've had their heart's broken, drowning his sorrows, chased by the memory of what she did to him.
this is good
But isn’t that gonna get her killed like he looks one hell of a mafia

@@Milk-ck1wv actually, in the story [in my eyes] it heavily implies that the girl is a danger to him, [scene where she points gun at he, scene where she is chasing he, her shadow is a monster and his is a rabbit]
he might believe he has power in the relationship, but in the end shes the real one thats after him, and hurting him more then he could hurt her.

_When I was a young man, and very well thought of,_
_I couldn't ask aught that the ladies denied._
_I nibbled their hearts like a handful of raisins,_
_And I never spoke love but I knew that I lied._
_But I said to myself, "Ah, they none of them know_
_The secret I shelter and savor and save._
_I wait for the one who will see through my seeming,_
_And I'll know when I love by the way I behave."_
_The years drifted over like clouds in the heavens;_
_The ladies went by me like snow on the wind._
_I charmed and I cheated, deceived and dissembled,_
_And I sinned, and I sinned, and I sinned, and I sinned._
_But I said to myself, "Ah, they none of them see_
_There's part of me pure as the whisk of a wave._
_My lady is late, but she'll find I've been faithful,_
_And I'll know when I love by the way I behave."_
_At last came a lady both knowing and tender,_
_Saying, "You're not at all what they take you to be."_
_I betrayed her before she had quite finished speaking,_
_And she swallowed cold poison and jumped in the sea._
_And I say to myself, when there's time for a word,_
_As I gracefully grow more debauched and depraved,_
_"Ah, love may be strong, but habit is stronger,_
_And I knew when I loved by the way I behaved."_

Anachronity it's a lie what you say is fake but it's your opinion
entirely true, supported by the car scene and how "you" refers to both the guy from Kix and the Wolf.
Ohhhhh. I really like that ending. It makes more sense in the metaphorical kind of way, then them being murdereres
Anachronity Thank you for explaining the meaning of the video to the song. I got very confused at the end and didn't really figure out what exactly was going on. But thanks to you I now better understand the relationship between the video and the song.

pretty accurate, both relationships dont know if one partner wants to eat them or love them

Love when the algorithim helps you stumble onto gold!! I am so obsessed with this song I can't stop replaying it 💞
My turn to theorize~
The wolf is a sex hungry womanizer, he doesn't care for an intimate relationship, he just wants a pretty girl who can entertain him.
A toxic relationship where neither are able to work past their issues, hurting each other constantly, yet unable to give up the chase.
this is very insightful!

(The chase scene at the end is quite a giveaway, though.)
Though I am not positive of what's happening in the end.
It makes me happy to see artists working together to make a big project like his and have it get appreciated
thank you

But this time he can't run anywhere.
that is a new one - and it is a good one!

@HeyJuicies They really earned it. Honestly, it seems crazy to me that its only this little.
I have a theory the girl could be like a manipulative gold digger. The women is after his money while his after her body. He thought he has the upper hand but She manipulates him to metaphorically "kill" anyone friends strangers relatives etc; for her and he ends up drinking himself to death from guilt and lust as she leaves him isolated.
interesting, interesting....

Edit 8 months later : but having them both sing the chorus together "I have the thing u love but the need in me is way too much if I open wide, one of us will get lost inside, me or u one of us is going to need to die"
Shows they both Start off and seem to be on equal playing fields. Another way this could have ended is if the wolf ate or " killed" her instead and leave her traumatised / with stds / moneyless. But in this video the girl wins and starts to forget about empathy in her greed for money.
I feel like ur theory may be right

Is this song supposed to be sad? Because I'm sad :(
I feel like the wolf and the girl really have feelings for each other, but because both of them have these needs and fear that they can't give up, they can't truly love each other and it would be self-destructing if one of them falls too much for the other. It's really sad for me that they can't love each other even if they really want to.
I don't know if I interpreted the song right but that's just how I feel listening to it. I'm going to try and find the novel from Amazon now.

@@kyokokirigiri5813 definitely.
Sounds about right.
you should check out the movie annihilation staring natalie portman. whole movie is a big metaphore of ones own self destruction wrapped up in a trippy sci-fi.
This shows the reversal of roles and power dynamic.
i hope that is not based personal experience :)

@@TheRealTuesdayWeld lmao no, Im just a literature student
I like the werewolf metaphor in this. He thinks he's big and powerful when in reality she's using him like a dog.
Regardless at the end of the video you can see demons running rampant indicating they are both continuing down that path regardless.
i like it
