It,s very sad to think that the days of this beautiful LD format are definitely gone forever . Never we will see such love and care put together in a physical video format. Everytime I buy a LD I feel a strange combination of joy and sorrow . I was fortunate to live the old days when I could see LD,s exposed in the shops and buy them and remember the excitement I felt . Never felt that with DVD or blu-ray. Pity.
MIGUEL RUBIO RINCON I agree in a lot of ways but would argue that the dedicated top tier specialty labels put in much care. For me releases from Arrow, Indicator and Eureka are top notch and filled with love though not as LD stupendous in terms of size. Warner Archive does amazing work on their limited budgets and of course Criterion is still going strongly. But we are never likely to see an era like that of LD again.
Oh, "The Man Who Came to Dinner". What a film...I play it every Christmas on my Warner DVD. I sure hope the Archive comes up with a Blu ray as the DVD looks great. "Is there a man in the world who suffers as I do from the gross inadequacies of the human race!?" Gotta love Sheridan Whiteside snark.
It took me ages to get Vertigo and then Psycho. The former is very nice but I don’t watch it much because of the 1996 soundmix-but it’s an amazing LD. And it reminds me of my childhood letterboxed vhs copy. Psycho has more extras so they sprang for a box and it’s a really nice LD but be prepared to wait until an affordable copy pops up. They’re actually very uncommon in my experience and I always missed it on eBay.

I hate the movie, but it looks like a nice set, and those are the exact circumstances that led me to grab the Signature Collection of 1941😆
25:00 Im sure Time Cop it was released on dvd but it really seems like it's a lot easier to find the laserdisc. It was also given a pan and scan version but luckily, the universal titles make it very obvious with their cover art if a title is in widescreen.
Took your advice and found the Alamo directed by John Wayne the director's cut also the thx ac-3 Dolby digital Thunderball to finish up all my Dolby digital copy's of the bond laserdiscs Moonraker, and the spy who loved me also to go with my 65 milimeter transfer of 2001 a space odessay I found the Dolby digital AC-3 35 milimeter transfer which was the one thàt showed up on DVD with 5.1 channel taken from the laserdisc
Oh boy I’d love to play around with a crt projector but have never gotten the chance. That would be the ideal method to watch LD most likely but I personally use the Sony XBR960 HDCRT which is amazing for LD.

Eric Peeper I still need 1941. To be honest I’m never interested in seeing even a second of the Van Sant 98 film ever again. Once was torture enough!😂

It’s definitely one of the more common discs out there which is why I held off until I found a minty dollar copy.
