    As much as I'm ambivalent towards the character, I have to say I do love that they did an entire character/subfaction about the 'when the fat lady sings' joke.

    I don't think the Phoenix King wanting to see Cylostra is farfetched at all. He might be generally curious if the best human singer could compare to an elven one or then they might just be interested seeing the lesser race perform and laugh at it, much like people used to go to the circus to laugh at animals performing tricks.

      The Bretonnians were the first Humans that Finubar made contact with and he was highly impressed with their civilization compared to what he had expected to find. He had expected half naked tribesmen living in mud huts and instead found soaring spires, minarets and a unified kingdom dominating a good quarter of the Old World. He was quite impressed with the Bretonnians at the time, and it would not surprise me at if he invited Direfin later. Though probably not to the same degree, the High Elves may share something like the quasi paternal feeling that the Dwarfs have towards the Empire for Bretonnia.
      In the Dark Elves sourcebook it specifically mentions that the Bretonnians have aided the High Elves in battle many times, enough to anger Malakiths and get him to orchestrate a full scale invasion against them in retribution. In either the High Elf or Bretonnian army book a Prince of Caledor fought alongside a King of Bretonnia against Beastmen at one point. The High Elves were highly impressed by the King and his Grail Knights and praised their fighting ability's directly, something unheard of for high elves, much less Caledorians of all people to do towards humans. (Though of course, how human Grail Knights are is up for debate)
      Though its only a few lines here or there what lore we have on the interactions between High Elves and Bretonnia suggests that their relationship is quite warm.
      Edit: Its also worth noting that in the versions where they age at all, Grail Knights live longer than most Dwarfs, and elves while living longer than Dwarfs don't exactly consider them short lived. Elves may feel a lot more comfortable dealing with Bretonnia since they are led by a quasi immortal Grail King and an actually immortal Fey Enchantress along with many long lived Dukes and other members of government who are also Grail Knights. They aren't constantly worrying that the next ruler or his cabinet will be some kind of weakling or crazy person like they are with the Empire. A considerable amount of the Bretonnian top brass have inhuman lifespans, and when a Grail Knight meets a High Elf Noble to parley from the High Elves perspective its probably a lot closer to speaking with a mildly boorish elf than it is with a human.

      It means she had a God Worthy Voice!!!! That's how good she was I mean it's the fucking Fenix King asking for an audience. He must have been told from an eleven travelar otherwise he wouldn't believe it. & if she's that good to impress an elf I totally believe she'd could come back as an immortal singing being.. I mean what if she was gifted with an incredible voice by a primordial power ?

    You'd think in the Warhammer World where undead, demons, and monsters are a common fact of the world anyone who was like "Guys we're on a legendary ghost ship!" you'd take him on his word.

      @@djn6962 Oh your talking about that. I thought you meant this situation with the raiders. Anyway, they crew isn't dead. Well not dead dead. They've come back. And knowing that the undead do interact with other factions of undead, and knowing how pirates were in real life, and being a sailor myself, I'll infer someone will talk, in great detail. Sailors will talk the ear off of anyone who'll listen. Even maybe a captured enemy who was released or survived. Hell, other undead from factions that may crew with the living. I know most of a ships the crew are mindless zombie. And that's true in the Warhammer world as well. Lol But there are some who are sentient-ish who may do this. Its pure speculation on my part of course but even if these details aren't said the real world should be enough to fill in the gaps.

  • @Crossil
    @Crossil 5 років тому +5

    I would prefer her being Strigany that gained patronage of Bretonnian king. Thus she would have innate skills in necromancy rather than it being given to her. Like this it seems like the only she brings into her pact with Stromfels is her oversized ego. But like this Stromfels gets himself undead followers out of helping her out.

    • @abmong
      @abmong 5 років тому

      Crossil I personally find the idea that Stromfel was the one who raised her from the dead a bit weird since it’s not really in his wheelhouse... there is another god that would’ve fitted much better IMO. I’m writing my own fan fiction that delves more into the events of her life in Bretonnia which hopefully provides more fitting reasons for why she’s so vengeful... I’ll put it up on total forum when its done.

      Who were better? Harkon? A man extremely loyal to Harkon and doesnt have his own ship?
      Vangeist? A ghost bound to do Noctilus' will?
      Skratch half-dead or the Chaos dwarf? Both part of Noctilus' crew and wont betray him

      I didn’t say she was a vampire, I said she leading a vampire faction. I am actually aware of that expansion, and it honestly just disappoints me more that they didn’t commit to making her full on camp then. I’ll take a mod that either makes her faction human, or makes her a vamp. Either would be more lore friendly than what we got

    • @masterwesty
      @masterwesty 5 років тому +1

      Vangheist would have been great and it can easily be explained.
      After years of being under Noctilus control Vangheist had finally found freedom and his own calling, no longer shall he be a puppet but a master of the sea.
      His whole thing could be about proving he is a better than Noctilus.
