I figured Cornell might have regretted this song, as how the hell can one possibly duplicate that crazy vocal performance live? There's almost no break in intensity the whole damn track. Video: Cornell nails it, while playing guitar, without breaking a sweat, acting like he's making a ham sandwich.
I can sing it (while playing) but it’s true that you need to be extra focused to not ruin your vocal cords. Also, the first pre-chorus, when verses end in “seen” and “believe”, makes the passaggio from chest voice to head/belting really hard. That’s the reason he performs this very “wide” vocalisation of the words.
I always loved metal and still do. Then I heard Soundgarden and my ear changed forever. Palm mutes were exchanged for open strings and bends, vibrato, and all things bizarre...
Look at the crowd. Why are crowds not like this anymore? Every concert I go to it seems the front-middle jumps a bit or headbangs a bit and that's it. And even then they only do it during certain songs.
I feel you, i went to see soundgarden and nine inch nails earlier this week and the crowd just stood there and took pictures with their cellphones. it was sad, and some people even gave me the stink eye for headbanging! very dark times
Haha wow! Maybe they got lost on the way to their One Direction concert... I went to Download Festival a couple of weeks after this comment and that was probably the most lively crowd I've seen in the 10 concerts/festivals I've been to, but even then only for 2 of the 3 headliners and maybe two other bands. If festivals can't produce a crowd like this nowhere can :(
***** Sounds good lol. Manchester was a bit more tame than that but there was some activity right at the front I guess, started to die out after the first few rows and around the edges though.

Unbelievable, this song is soooo hard to sing and he sings it while also improvising with extra notes 😂

This video proves Cornell plays lead guitar while singing on everything except the solo.
short hair chris was like a super saiyan of rock
Great times back in the 90's, everything sounded different. Still, Soundgarden is my fav.
+AA VFX everything sounded huge, and the vocals were hard. Wish we would have a revival of that PJ, Soundgarden and old AiC sound.
The Energy.
Serioulsy! His voice was so intense
I recommend watching the video I uploaded somewhat recently of them playing Room a Thousand Years Wide, awesome performance.
The screams are amazing

Chris was at his peak during this time frame. Amazing!
good lawd... the vocal performance here
Soundgarden's best song
I can get down with that take
@@arcusma my opinion has very much changed since then 😂😂😂
The breakdown @ 2:22 is so dope. Has a real acid rock sound. Definitely sounds that way in the studio version at that point in the song.
Cornell was unbelievable
😮He's singing in the middle of the soprano range and still sounds manly! Holy f, Cornell was a god back in the day!...
Yeah he mixed his voice so good he go as high as he wanted and put a tiny bit of chest in it and just sound like a lion hitting the note of a bird
@@littlejohnnyconspiracytheo5315 Exactly! And what is even more impressive, he could do this during an entire concert, not just a song or two!...
Great performance, great song
What a powerful performance!!
A by gone era now. I lived it great music and vibes ✌👊🎶🎸❤
Almost a year since Chris Cornell passed......such a sad loss. R.I.P. Sir, you are missed

Crowds are still consistently awesome in some parts of the world. In Buenos Aires, for instance.
Juan Pablo Saenz Yeah Southern American crowds do seem to be the best atm
Merece uma qualidade de vídeo e áudio melhor esse show
A lot of Freddie Mercury presence here.
??
lol recorded thru a coke can
