I have noticed, it just take one person to start touch the horse and the rest will follow. That tells me that they had understood the sign but decides to ignore it.
That and the fact that the guards are not saying ANYTHING when tourists disregard the (new) sign! It’s like…..have the guards been told that they can’t speak up anymore or what??!! And at first when the sign changed to don’t touch the horse, many were abiding by it and standing off against the walls for their pictures. But, I’ve noticed that MANY have now started standing as close as possible to the horses again in hopes of getting the horse to touch them…..so then they can in turn touch/pet the horse back. They know exactly what they’re doing!
I’m starting to think the guards were told not to enforce it. If so, what’s the point? It’s irritating watching these people disregard the rules and no one seems to care
Why are the guards allowing the tourists to ignore the sign and stroke the horses? I understand that not everyone can read English, so it is up to them to personally instruct them properly.💂♂💂♀
I agree the Do not touch needs to be enforced and be consistent with all idiots who don't read or can't read the sign. If you are consistent maybe the idiots will learn you mean business!!
They let most of the 11:31 people touch the horses, and the police there say a few words to the law breaker then walk away. These men and women are not just on duty, they are there to stop any idiot from creating a mob scene.. or any emergencies. If one happened these soldiers have to get out , put the horses away and rush forward to help stop the mob. Not dressed in a fancy uniform for them to get pictures they are trained solders trying to keep control and they can't because of all of these selfish people !! Why, WHY don't the powers that be who are on duty stop this to. Just put a guard by the men on horses and keep the people from causing the horse to get nuts and the rider frustrated.
The guard doesn't have to bellow at the offending tourist, but they could at least emulate Clint Eastwood and softly say, "Don't touch the damned horse". Is that asking too much?
And if ppl would take the time to read the sign would help out some,I realize alot of the don't understand English, come on, no is pretty much the same in any language????
It took less than a week for them to go right back to crowding against the horses AND TOUCHING THEM….completely disregarding the new rule and signage. And as long as the guards do not speak up and enforce it, it will be chaos again real soon! The officers aren’t out there long enough to see when people continue to STILL touch the horses, so the guards HAVE TO speak up! They were very vocal BEFORE the new sign, but now with the sign, they say nothing. Make it make sense.
These guards need to tell tourists not to touch the horses, the sign has been change and it for the welfare, of the horses.
If the guards are not going to enforce the no touching rule then it is worthless.

It does seem like the horses are more relaxed when not being touched all the time . Once people started touching the horse started trying to bite.
